"We have no reason to believe state propaganda. If this is true, then it’s not 'Navalny died,' but 'Putin killed Navalny,' and only that."

Said Leonid Volkov, Aleksei A. Navalny’s longtime chief of staff, quoted in a NYT article that seems to need a better headline, "Aleksei Navalny, Putin Critic, Dies in Prison, Russian Authorities Say/The opposition leader, who was poisoned in 2020, had spent months in isolation" (NYT).

What good would it do Putin to lie about this? Does the NYT know that it's not a lie? What good would it do the NYT to report this as a fact if it were not verified?

Then Zelensky killed journalist and US Citizen Gonzalo Lira, and only that.

Putin and Biden are similar.

Defeating all prospective enemies and critics - by use of legal warfare, imprisonment, lies and slander... even death. all the same when it comes to the power-mad.

I have no idea. Putin could have / probably killed his rival. OK. America is holding political prisoners from the fake J6 insurrection, and Biden is trying to throw his leading opponent in jail.

Who gives a shit?

These crazy people all want escalation and a NATO war against Russia. More than likely to cover for Western corruption and control on energy.

They now conveniently claim Russia can launch a hypersonic nuclear missile from space. We're supposed to believe Russia is losing a conventional land war against Ukraine, but at the same time passed the US in space weapons technology.

Obligatory:
Navalny didn't hang himself.

There's a lot of usefulness in ambiguity and deniability. Putin gains nothing by admitting it was a state act.

It seems a distinction without a difference. You execute a political prisoner or you put a political prisoner in conditions where they die, c’est la même chose…

Never forget Navalny wanted to strip Chechens, Dargins, and all other nations in the Caucasus of their Russian citizenship and compared them to cockroaches and flies.

Video on X, be sure to check out the nazi salutes.

He was a neonazi before he was a liberal champion of peace and democracy. In fact, the Ukrainians use video of his rallies to "prove" that the "RuZZians" are the real nazis.

The NYT is anxious to focus on Putin's corruption while giving Zelensky and Biden free passes.

The bottom line here is all three are corrupt. It manifests itself in different degrees. For example, so far Biden seems satisfied to prosecute and imprison his political opponents and defame them through the media.

There are some vestiges of opposition to this who are whistling into the wind. If Democrats retain the White House that is likely to disappear.

Very sad day when we put white haired grandmas into prison for walking into the capital building while the police hold the door. That is some serious entrapment.

There is no reason for Putin to lie. Navalny was in an arctic gulag and could have died due to being exposed to such a harsh environment. Also, a dead martyr is a much more powerful symbol than an imprisoned dissident, Putin would have been nuts to kill him. (Not that Putin isn't crazy on some level.)

As far as the NYT goes; they are keeping the skeer up for the Democrats. They are panicking and want to deflect attention from the Hur report, Biden's mental competence dilemma, and Fani Willis' disastrous turn on the stand.

(Speaking of Fani; in addition to making an ass of herself on the stand she apparently had her dress on backwards!)

Are you freaking kidding me? Even if Navalny died of natural causes, the conditions of his confinement and Putin's prior attempt to kill him with nerve agent, was the proximate cause of his death.

Putin did kill Navalny, there is no doubt about it.

Putin, the 2016 Hillary supporter?

Maybe Putin should say Navalny committed suicide, like Epstein?

He opposed the war in Ukraine because he was a Not See, just like the leadership in Kiev, and hates Putin, and wants him overthrown, just like, coincidentally I am sure, the CIA does.

We should ask ourselves sometime why we are on these people's side.

Jaq said...

What he was doing, with his white supremacist rhetoric, was to try to split up the Russian Federation. A longtime CIA goal.

Joe Biden thought that this war was in our strategic interest, which is why he did not pick up the phone, the way Trump would have, when Putin had his troops massed on the border, and had already published a framework for a negotiated settlement. Not a "list of immoveable demands," the way it was portrayed, and we know this because Putin agreed to far more favorable terms than Ukraine is likely to ever see again, back in March of 2022.

Only a naif questions the lie every time a liar lies. Putin (and pols in general) lie. It's what they do. Putin and the communist crew kill political enemies. This we know. Putin will lie whenever. This we know.

It makes more sense to believe an event conforms to a past pattern than to the current lie.

Does the NYT know that it's not a lie?

Good fucking God.

Amazing coincidence that his wife was at that conference when Nalvalny died, and that Nalvalny supported all of the same goals as our own beloved neocons. Nice Aryan wife though. Too bad for him that he is now more useful to the neocons dead than alive. Who really benefits from his death? Not Putin, when the guy was still electorally viable, he was polling at about 2%. He was rotting in prison totally discredited as a puppet of the US. This only takes attention from the Putin interview, and the fall of Avdeyevka, which is currently in the mopping up stage.

Our government runs us by these kinds of operation. Maybe he died of natural causes, who knows?

Jaq said...

You know who Navalny reminds me of? Ray Epps. Look at that speech.

The reason that the regime considers "white supremacy" the biggest threat to democracy is that we use it to stir up trouble everywhere, well in Taiwan we used a different kind of nationalism, but in Ukraine, and in Russia, it's our go to regime change lever.

"but when Putin calls someone a Nazi"

I don't think that Putin made him give that speech and do those Hitler salutes and call for the breakup of the Russian Federation, anymore than he called for the Ukrainians in Kiev to revere a holocaust collaborator as a "founding father of Ukrainian nationalism."

The split between pro and anti Putin Republicans seems like a big one, bigger than other splits. I would be unwilling to "do politics" with any pro-Putin faction. Alexei Navalny was poisoned with an organophosphate nerve agent applied to his underwear. Nutjob may be thinking of the horrendous lingering death visited on Alexander Litvinenko. Two FGB assassins, probably commissioned by Putin, put polonium in Litvinenko's tea. The nasty fact is the British government appears to have colluded with Putin to torpedo Scotland Yard's investigation of the murder in fear of a nat-gas embargo, just the sort of blackmail President Trump warned Europe about and got a deluge of abuse and insults from NYT for his trouble.

They claim to hate the man because of his lies, though Trump fearless proclaims seven uncomfortable truths daily before breakfast.

To Rich and other Biden shills, democracy is a subway station full of intimidating panhandlers, illegal aliens, iPhone thieves, and masturbating tranq psychos. Democratic democracy is the ceaseless wager of illegal war and the supremacy of the criminal class guaranteed by taxpayer-funder election fraud. Democratic administration means cleanliness and good order can only be the product of an authoritarian government. Democratic justice means all enforcement is directed exclusively against political dissenters, while all other accused offenders go free immediately after arrest.

What did Clinton gain by Seth Rich's death? Hmm.

Neither if these individuals was present at the death of their supposed opponent, but may have benefited from that death, may have orchestrated their demise.

There are a LOT of Clinton-affiliated people who have died "suddenly, mysteriously, conveniently" to Clintons' personal political agenda Think about that. Their list may have more names on it than Putin's list.

Putin oligarch pals kicked $150M into the Clinton global slush fund.

Gee, that was awfully nice after that whole "reset button" thing with Hillary.

Hey, and it was Hillary's State Dept, along with Obama/Mueller's FBI, that cleared the canadian subsidiary of a russki company to snatch up US Uranium via the Uranium One deal...even though the canadian company was corrupted and under investgation!

Gee, that was terribly nice of Field Marshall Freder's New Soviet Democraticals, wasnt it?

And who can fail to notice that Putin gets awfully active geopolitically when the New Soviet Democraticals are in power and quiet as church mice when Trump was in office.

Well.
