I have been browsing through the Mueller Report and through the Durham Report -- the two DOJ reports about RussiaGate. (I posted a comment about this on December 27.) To my own surprise, I find myself myself to be much more accepting of the Mueller Report and more critical of the Durham Report.

In regard to the Mueller Report, I now think that Soviet Intelligence indeed did hack the Democrat National Committee's computer system and then leak DNC documents to Wikileaks in order to affect the USA's 2016 presidential election. Furthermore, I think the DOJ investigated this hacking/leaking in a manner that was mostly proper.

However, a major shortfall of the Mueller Report is that it failed to explain sufficiently Christopher Steele's Dossier. Essentially, the Mueller Report ignored that Dossier as mostly irrelevant to the hacking and leaking that happened in the 2016 election race. In contrast, the Durham Report thoroughly exposes that Dossier as a political fraud.

The Durham Report does criticize the Mueller Report but on issues that are real but ultimately dismissible. For example, the DOJ should have the DOJ should have provided defensive briefings to the Trump campaign about Russian hacking rather than to launch a full-scale counter-intelligence investigation of the Trump campaign. However, I now find the DOJ's decisions in this situation to be cautious and defensible.

The Durham Report is wise in that it suggests that the Mueller Report was excessive in its length and intensity. The Mueller Report was basically justifiable, but it went on too long and too far. The Mueller investigation became an excuse to investigate Trump and his associates forever -- in a manner that became extremely partisan and abusive.

I'm going to share links for some albums that I like. I mentioned several of them over the past couple of weeks, but this comment on the New Year's Day cafe post will make it easy to find them if you're looking for some new-to-you music this year.

Europe - Allo, Darlin'
Jangly indie pop

Off the Beatle Track - Apple Jam
Beatles tribute band playing Beatle-written songs recorded by other artists

Folksongs & Ballads - Tia Blake
Folk

A Tribute to George Harrison - Christine Collester
Self-explanatory, but I'll talk about this one in a separate comment

A Day in the Life of a Universal Wanderer - Gandalf's Fist
Prog-rock space opera. Bear with the dialogue interstitials, as the music is good

Juliana Hatfield Sings ELO - Juliana Hatfield
Really good cover album

Please Come Home - Lonely Robot
Another cool prog-rock album

Drastic Fantastic (Ultimate Edition) - KT Tunstalla
This contains the 11 songs on the original album, 4 more studio songs, a bunch of live songs and some remixes, and 8 instrumental versions of songs from the original album. On Amazon Music, you will NOT find this version of the album by searching KT Tunstall. You must search the album name to find it!

Okay, so let's talk about why this particular album is so strange.

A Tribute to George Harrison - Christine Collester

A couple of weeks ago, I had been listening to some of the Apple Jam albums (there are more than one) and Amazon Music suggested that I might like this album, too. I gave it a listen and was impressed. Then things got weird. When I like an artist's work, I search to see what else they released, but in this case, it was the only album released by Christine Collester, and it was on streaming music only, no physical album or CD.

I did a search to find out who she was and ran into a blank wall. There is a Christine Collister (with an I, not an E) who is a folk singer and entertainer in the U.K. After this album came out on streaming services in December of 2011, Christine Collister posted on her Facebook account that she had been asked about the George Harrison tribute album that was out on Amazon Music, but it was NOT her work.

Another thing you'll note if you click on the link is that the album artwork is a black-and-white picture of George Harrison and the title Songs of George Harrison and A tribute to George Harrison with the track listing. No mention of the singer on the artwork at all, which is quite odd.

With all of this weirdness going on, you would expect some kind of low-quality knock-off, like a guy trying to sell you a fake Rolex on the streets of New York. Instead, what you'd expect to be a cheap Timex is actually a diamond-studded Rolex, because this is a damn good album.

"Christine Collester"'s vocals are excellent, as are the musicians playing on the songs. The dance version of "Love You To" and the delightfully funky version of "Taxman" show a lot of creativity. There is not a bad song on the album. In this case, I've just pushed the weirdness of it all to the side and enjoyed the music.

Almost 12 hours after my morning report, and I don't think I made any mistakes worth mentioning since then.

Our next door neighbors had some of their friends over for an open house, and invited us. It was great--lots of good food, and drink for those who like it . . . I think some partaking had been took by some (not there with kids around, of course).

They are mostly Boomer's early kids, with their own still in high school or going off to college. We talked a lot about real estate--not prices so much as the older buildings around going down and the redevelopment and infill taking place.

I actually tossed the football with the teenage boys; I haven't done that in decades, and still have some arm. Just don't ask me to rush.

Sadly, Mike Sylwester, you spent far too much time comparing an honest investigation into Trump's cooperating with the Russians by Robert Mueller's team that actually indicted Trump's henchmen versus the fake investigation played by Billy Barr and John Durham on Trump's orders to make the Trump-Russia deal go away. Durham didn't even assemble enough evidence to connect the two individuals he took to trial to any actual criminal act and he spent more time and money than Mueller in compiling a bunch of lies for the MAGA crowd.

Thanks for doing the work, sharing your thoughts. How do you square with what I found out?

The DNC emails were never hacked. That's according to Crowdstrike congressional testimony, to Congress. They claim to have evidence that the files were organized, but never transmitted from the DNC server.
Wray/Comey testified to congress their report IS the Draft Report from CrowdStrike. While The FBI had a partial cloned DNC hard drive, the FBI NEVER did their own analysis of the data. Remember the DNC refused the FBI access to the server. Why the DNC refused to cooperate, fuels conspiracy speculation, but the DNC did refuse to cooperate.

To me we are back at a big Govt scam, helped by private entities like the DNC, Prekins Coi, CrowdStrike, Fusion GPS, etal.

The evidence at the time pointed squarely at a leak, not a hack. But the hack story raises an interesting issue of its own that was never fully examined. Governments try to hack each other all the time. Russia probably did hack Clinton’s servers (even though they were not behind the leak). Lots of countries probably hacked her servers.

That she was hacked is not the real problem, the real problem is she was criminally negligent in making vital government secrets easy to steal, easy for America’s enemies to get. That's the problem that Mueller and everyone else in government and media was too cowardly to talk about.

I've tried sampling your choices, but - except for Lonely Robot's "Airlock" - your tastes are waaaay too "lite" for me; nor do they reflect the 21st century's arrival at all. The covers are all "straight" - no variation whatsoever from the originals - so why bother? ELO's recordings are all better than Juliana Hatfield's, so I wonder why she made them? It can't be to honor Jeff Lynne because she just made his work derivative,...and limp. (I haven't had a reason to listen to ELO since well before the century changed, but that's another issue,...) Check out 801 covering The Kinks' 'You Really Got Me' to get an idea of how a cover is supposed to be done. I know about that because I listen to everything and everybody - not just black artists.

I know I sound harsh, but anytime a white American offers me to "check out my music" and I find there's no black people in the mix, I'm pretty sure the quality is going to be as sparse as the melanin, the instrumentation will ignore musical progress, and the subject matter will be as limited in scope as their appreciation of others. In that regard, yours did not disappoint.

I imagine - once this crew sees to it that everyone but whites are genocided - your tastes are gonna rule.

As fas as "the takeaway quote" - here's people talking about how Zionists weaponize the Holocaust to seek advantage and a reason to keep genociding the Palestinians, whose land they stole to be kidnapped from, so Palestinians can get their family members back. Imagine: comparing a single woman's kidnapping to the mechanical slaughter of 6 million jews in ovens - only a craven idiot would say that or believe it. It definitely shows no appreciation, or respect for those 6 million deaths in Germany.

On the subject of Teddy Roosevelt, I was visiting southern Vermont and we went to the homestead of Abe Lincoln's son, who was an executive in the Pullman corporation, and they had the Pullman car there that Teddy Roosevelt had used to campaign for the presidency. Let me tell you it was "bully." It was gorgeous inside, decorated with wide planks of Cuban mahogany among the other exquisite appointments. You also got to stand on the rear platform from which Roosevelt addressed crowds. I wish I had positioned someone outside to take a picture of me on it. It was worth the trip. The tour guide said that the car was discovered a couple of decades ago in the Carolinas and was being used as a "hunting and poker lodge" but it has been meticulously restored.

McKinley had also used the car when he was President, and it was the personal car of David Lincoln, who used his political connections to do very well for himself, apparently. Anyway, the "Lincoln Family Home" was very nice.

Next I want to visit the Calvin Coolidge homestead. This is what Chat said

"As of my last update in April 2023, no U.S. Presidents have been born in Vermont. "

Then I asked about Coolidge and it said: "Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States, was born in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, on July 4, 1872"

It's like it just can't make enough connections yet. It reminds me of an old movie comedy where they were experimenting with "sleep learning" on their son, and they played a recording that said "The Nile is the longest river in the world..." and when he was awake, the asked him the longest river, and he didn't know, then they said "What about the Nile?" and he said "The Nile is the longest river in the world..."

Because people who steal land - and rave next to concentration camps - deserve to be treated nicely. No one took the time to rape her in captivity. They only took the time to do rape when in the chaos of kidnapping people.

Totally believable.

Every time we talk to hostages directly - no rapes. ("It is forbidden for them to touch us." "For them, women are sacred.") Every time we're TOLD about hostages through third parties - hearsay - it's rape city. Other henchmen on US soil? Nope. ZERO trials for Russia, Russia, Russia chorus of lies.

You dismiss Durham. You are forced to ignore the major finding. Mueller (Weiseman) had ZERO evidence the day he started. ie NOTHING was there to appoint a Special Counsel, and failed to add to that impressive number after almost two years.

Cartel Gunbattle Just South Of U.S. Border

Courtesy of Lawrence Person's Battleswarm Blog.

"It looks like there was a running gunbattle between the Mexican National Guard and the Sinaloa drug cartel in Sonoyta, Sonora, just south of Lukeville, Arizona on the U.S. border, on December 29.

[snip]

I haven’t seen any news reports of this in American media, possibly because they think their primary goal is to avoid reporting anything on the border that the Biden Administration’s “pro illegal alien invasion” policies make them look bad with voters.

Indeed, there was a gun battle at a different crossing point earlier this month.

A federal law-enforcement source shared with FOX Business Network an internal officer safety alert dated December 13th that warns CBP agents to be vigilant after the Mexican military seized 10 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the border.

The IEDs were found by Mexican authorities after Tucson border patrol observed gunshots at the U.S.-Mexico border and a Tucson supervisory border patrol agent arrested an armed person on the U.S. side who had a loaded AK-47 rifle, two loaded AK magazines, loose rounds and a handgun.

Add “border danger” to “budget deficits” in the category of Things That Could Blow Up At Any Moment Our Chattering Classes Refuse To Talk About.

The list of terrible things Zionists have done to Palestinians, starting with stealing their land, is too long to list. Here's a Zionist bragging about kidnapping a Palestinian child for who knows what.

"Jews did not attack Germany."

Jews in the U.S. military did.

"You should reframe your argument."

Why? They don't accept Naziism, apartheid, displacement, ethnic cleansing, genocide, or any of the other terminology decent people have taken to describing this. Just like the Nazis, who did barbarous things by day and listened to Classical Music at night, they think they're some special breed, surrounded by disposable subhumans and "animals." They've said so. Repeatedly. And that's the same "thinking" that, apparentlyc and unfortunately, still animates whites here. They've said so. Repeatedly.

Hitler killed and enslaved Jews because he admired how Americans killed Indians and enslaved blacks. He learned about concentration camps from South Africa. Zionists supplied weapons to South Africa during apartheid, just as we're supplying weapons to Zionists for the Nakba. Hamas ripped the mask off the new Nazis.
