Get this. I was the very last caller on the In Depth program on C-Span’s Book TV. After 23 years, the program has ended. The guest was law prof John Yoo.

Mrs. Snoqualmie & I went to see "Beautiful, The Carole King Musical" at the Village Theatre in Issaquah today. It'll be in Issaquah until December 30, then in Everett January 6th to the 28th. It's a new production of the Broadway play.

I never realized how influential she was in the music world. She started out as song writer and later became a singer/song writer.

Those who live around Puget Sound should go see this production. VT does a marvelous job with sets, costumes, choreography, orchestra and of course, acting. Of course, that's a VT tradition, so it's not surprising.

If you're sitting out on your deck, on a Summer's evening, maybe grilling a steak and sipping a beer, and a mosquito bites you, you swat it. Smack!

Someone might point out, that the mosquito, or its predecessors, were there before you were, and it has no other way of continuing, than to suck your blood.

Fair enough. But the moral analysis that gives mosquitos the right to suck my blood is not one likely to find favor with me. It's his analysis. Let them suck his blood.

The Moral Law supposes, that everything was once right, and as it should be. But then actions were taken, by unscrupulous actors, as a result of which great wrongs were introduced into human affairs. The Moral Law will trace those wrongs, like the wires in a cable, back to that perfect moment where Justice universally obtained. Ere we fell. The Moral Law will punish the malefactors, and lavish their ill-gotten goods upon their unhappy victims. And then, once again, as in the olden time, everything will be right, and as it should be.

These night cafes lately seem like the Althouse blog has been turned into Crackhouse. In more ways than one. Dude's got some serious colonialist moves trying to take over every thread.

Solzhenitsyin said that the line between Good and Evil passes through every human heart. As a mathematician, I would have to say, he means the surface, not the line. The surface, that separates Good from Evil, passes through every human heart. And always will, it's anchored there. In your heart. You can shift it, to one side or the other. But it will always divide you, into two, warring parts.

But the Moral Law says that the surface separating Good and Evil passes between persons, and never once passes through a person. So, you are on one side, or the other. Isn't that a relief? Don't you feel better, now that you have become acquainted with Moral Law?

There's been discussion here about the publics right to know recently. About January 6th tapes.

How about the truth on the covid not a vaccine the government forced our military personnel to get?

https://kirschsubstack.com/p/data-from-us-medicare-and-the-new

The link is about New Zealand prosecuting someone for being a whistleblower and letting the truth come out. Bit our very own military had done the same. Military doctors have been ordered NOT to talk about it. I'm not goin to provide links- if you've been following the covid truth squad on substack you know- and if you haven't you likely believe the government propaganda the shots were harmless and kept you from dying.

Just had a HS friend die suddenly. one year behind me in HS, so in her mid 60s. In good health. No existing diseases. At least two covid shots- she posted on Facebook. I know that for her in particular it wouldn't be any lifestyle choices that ended her life prematurely.

Today in NYC a mob chanting “there is only one solution, Intifada revolution”.

I don’t call this a “protest.” Calling for the mass murder of Jews is not “protesting.”

If the KKK were calling for the mass murder of Blacks, would we call it a “protest?”

Thanks.

Amazon is very reliable and diligent about calculating and delivering its commissions as far as I can tell. You do have to click from my link/"portal" and then complete the sale before leaving. It's not enough to put something in your shopping cart and then come back at a different time and complete the sale. But those are the rules, and Amazon follows its own rules, or so that's what I've seen, using it for many years.

THIS is what authoritarian looks like. HOW many Democrats have had their houses raided?? And now Joe's DOJ is going after people who like or shared Trump tweets

wendybar said...

"The Judicial system is nuts and biased. Where would the lawsuits stop if cases like the ones against Trump are successful?

Maybe Biden should be sued for all the deaths, rapes, and other crimes because he refuses to secure the border and essentially invites criminals and terrorists in.

Should Biden be sued for the deaths in Afghanistan?

Should Dr. Anthony Fauci and others be sued for all the damage they caused with all their lies about COVID?

Maybe all the people who paid off their student loans should sue Joe Biden, who's forgiving the student loans of those who haven't, for unequal treatment.

Should Biden and others be charged for all the losses caused by their green energy push, which is a massive fraud?

The media and others should stop pretending that the justice system is unbiased and that there is equal treatment under the law. They have been targeting Trump and his supporters for years, while Hillary, Biden and others can commit many crimes and go unpunished. "

Led by Mr Irrelevant. The last player chosen in the NFL draft, 2022. Only pressed into service when the 1st and 2cnd string QB's were injured. I only like the story, because yet again, the NFL front offices with all their scouts and analytics, don't do any better than throwing darts at the wall. Kurt Warner was literally stocking shelves at HyVee at night, until he wrangled a shot at the NFL.

I've wondered about how that works. My typical browsing goes like this:
Click bookmark to Althouse
Click Amazon portal link
Search for what I'm seeking or check out the Daily Deals
Then...
Right click on items of interest to open in a new tab

If I buy something, I'll usually complete the sale, as I'm not one to put something in cart in buy later, unless shopping for someone else who may be undecided. However, I might complete the purchase on a second or third tab, and not the original tab.

I've purchased quite a bit this season using the Althouse Amazon Link. I hope at least some commissions are getting back to you. At least I got that Black Friday deal on the donation: A limited edition free access with moderated commenting to the Althouse Blog. It's a deal!

“To give some perspective of how much has changed: in 1993 the richest 20 percent of congressional districts were represented by Republicans over Democrats at a ratio of less than two to one. Today, they tilt Democratic by nearly five to one.”

It's not breaking news that the Democrats are the party of the rich, the gusto with which Democrats mock the working class is only one tell. It's been going on a long time. "Drag a hunnert dollah bill through a trailer park."

"Any yoga fans here?"

I am. As you read this, remember - Most Indians, including most Hindus, do not practice yoga - because (like homeopathy is only water wrapped in Christian mysticism) yoga is only stretching wrapped in Hindu mysticism:

‘So many yoga gurus try to have sex with female followers – I’m amazed women still fall for it’

Women in Irish ‘cult’ encouraged to take part in sexual healing sessions with ‘master’

Siddha Yoga Lawsuit Alleges Rape and Cultic Abuses by Muktananda

Experience: my yoga class turned out to be a cult

How a yoga studio turned into a murderous doomsday cult that drank blood

'Killer' yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong REJECTED plea deal offered by Soros-backed DA

Working-class Echo Park residents join forces to battle parking nightmare due to yoga studio

Yoga for back pain? ("Sorry, but I beg to differ!") It always strikes me as odd how people will lie to make NewAge look better.

"Regardless of whether you’re seeking the reverent or the physical, one thing still abounds in yoga studios: bad science."

And here's the kicker:

Taken captive: Carmel Gat, seen doing yoga with hostage children

Somebody needs to ask this mental captive which poses are "best" for the physical kind
