OK. when do we get the stories about Arabs in Gaza dying because Israel has cut off food, water, and electricity? Or dropping 4,000 tons of bombs on them? Or stories about Brave arab women coping with being homeless or having relatives without needed medical care?
I'm glad this Jewish women survivied by cooking for her captor, but lets quit the one-sided approach of ignoring arab suffering and obsessing about Israeli suffering.

Yes, because the intentional infliction of suffering on innocent civilians equates to the accidental collateral damage caused by the actions of those who intentionally inflicted the suffering--and are indeed inflicting suffering on the own people; suffering that would stop in a millisecond if Hamas gives up and releases the hostages.

When the residents of Gaza do not live under constant threat of death by Hamas for describing the abject conditions and maladministration they are forced to live under by Hamas?
The problem, rcocean, is that stories of "Israeli suffering" can be taken as accurate (at least because the international media will do just about anything to avoid telling those stories without an accompanying picture of dead Palestinian children), whereas stories of "Arab suffering" regularly appear to involve stock photos, pictures from years ago, wild exaggerations of casualties... and of course willful ignoring of the fact that Hamas hides behind its own women and children and wounded and vulnerable, not because it has to militarily, but because it wants the "blood on Israeli hands" stories.
If this grandmother were an IDF member who enticed the terrorists into an ambush, the moral equivalent might be there. Maybe.
Of course Palestinians are suffering. I'm sure they're suffering much more than Israelis right now. So rise up, Palestinian street, and force your leaders to free the hostages so the water and power provided by the people your leaders' charter has sworn to wipe off the face of the earth will get turned back on.
rcocean, Arabs, whether in Gaza or Arabia, along with all other Muslims, suffer because of Islam, not because of Israel. It's said many times, and should be repeated until the world learns: no matter when in time, no matter where in the world, find Muslims, find trouble.
Islam is the issue
The fact is that no one in the USA media cared about the suffereing of the Arabs in Gaza or the West bank before the Attack. I follow the news and its seems there's been some "incident" every month for Years. Usually its some IDF soldier killing some arab because he did this or that. Or its Israel bulldozing someone's home because they were family of some terrorist. Or it was a clash in the West bank because Israel wont stop building illegal settlements.
This sort of one sided approach reminds me of News media's approach to crime back in the early 90s. A thousand people got murdered every year in NYC and God knows how many rapes. but almost no coverage from the MSM. Then Some senators niece was shot outside her house, and a stockbroker got raped in Central Park, and Newsweek and Time suddenly had covers "Is crime out of control?". Blacks/browns getting killed/raped not a story. Well-to-do White people that's a story.
Same with israel. Arab babies killed? Who cares. Israeli babies killed? Massive news coverage.

Curiously, the Arabs in Yemen are suffering far more than the Gazans, yet they get no ink in the west at all. Why is that?

I didn't want to go here, but... you do recognize the difference, don't you? You're right that the world's or the nation's attention switches on when those who commit far fewer crimes or those who try not to harm civilians are attacked, raped, killed. The non-attention-getting attacks, rapes, and murders are the "business as usual" ones, committed by the "usual suspects."
This fact points to a cultural issue. The origins of that (or those) cultural issue(s) can be debated. But this is why Muslim-on-Muslim atrocities don't get the play that Muslim-on-Jew or Muslim-on-nominal-Christian ones do. (And it's a stretch to call Israel's treatment of Palestinians over the decades an "atrocity," no matter what certain folks here continue to claim - Israel, for instance, doesn't go out of its way to target noncombatants, in fact tries to avoid them, doesn't use rape as a weapon, and doesn't desecrate bodies, and we all know it.)
I bet many Israeli grannies are going to start keeping a stash of potassium cyanide in the kitchen now. Be prepared!

I like how, if you guys have a question, that doesn't mean you go to Google or YouTube looking for answers like I do. It means you challenge someone else to do the work and come up with one so you can then call them a name. Because you already have your answer: The Zionists, in all their spiritual benevolence, should just kill everybody else - though that's never worked before. This is why some black people think you were probably former slavers: you want other people to do your work for you, you're sticking up for the Concentration Camp Crew, and you want most shit enforced by violence. I don't think anyone here has even hinted that "Zionists" (or Jews) should "kill everybody else." Kill the people who attacked then, yes - we've definitely heard that. But the "Zionists" are not the side that wants to wipe out the other side.

I don't know what ghetto you're from, but I know when I'm attacked I fight back like my life depends on it. If I don't, at best, I wind up bloody and bruised. If I do. I still might wind up bloody and bruised, but so is the other guy.
