In case you were getting excited about the wafted possibility that Trump himself would become Speaker of the House. Why he could bring his storied deal-making powers to the woeful institution!
Full text of the "truth," which I'm inclined to quote because it has a reference to the University of Wisconsin-Madison:

Regarding Patty Murray, I noted Glenn Reynolds comment in those regards about how risky Gaetz move is by giving Democrats an opportunity to get rid of Biden and Harris. So let’s explore that potential reality. Republicans supposedly look very silly and are losing respect because they just ousted the Speaker of the House from Congress. Democrats looking to take advantage of the Republican embarrassment act by, convincing the sitting President and Vice President to simultaneously resign, and somehow both would do it? And this would come out looking like a master stroke of genius by Democrats to prepare them for the 2024 election.

Trump becoming speaker was always a pipe dream. It would be funny if anyone actually thought it could happen--that a group of Republicans that MAGA generally hates because they are so wishy-washy would take the unprecedentedly bold step of electing a man who is not only not a member of the house, but is someone they generally don't like and don't want to see succeed in politics. Of course they weren't going to make Trump speaker!

Now all the woodworms start to emerge, with their what-about-it: Jim Jordan loves Putin. Jim Jordan wants to hand over Ukraine. Jim Jordan has dark stories, buried in his past. What about the wholesome, popular side of Jordan, the one who likes to cross-dress and snort fentanyl, while biting the heads off whippets? You never hear the flattering stuff when you're running for office.
I think he'd be a step up.
Nobody outside of the democrats who took money from him is a big Putin guy you imbecile. It hurt their hearts that that fat evil hag decided HE was the bad guy.

My issue with Jordan (and Scalise) is that he seems to have moved to the establishment/uniparty side of the GOP since 2015. His weaponization subcommittee has gotten some publicity, but really has done nothing to bring in and depose the true bad actors. One could say he's in it for fundraising and that's all. I note Sundance shares my misgivings.

The polls show support for Ukraine about equal among both Republicans and Democrats. This might force Trump to take a position. It would be a shame if the next election turns on Ukraine, but it is possible if the Democrats can take immigration and social issues off the table. I think they are headed that way, but one year is pretty short for such a dramatic reversal. And RFK Jr. is the Joker.
I thought McCarthy was pretty skillful, let's see if Jordan can measure up. Ideology is not a substitute for talent, and the power balance in the House has not changed.

This is total bullshit. This was all caused by the unnecessary expansion of NATO, and Kamala welcoming Ukraine's admittance. The eastern provinces are Russian anyway, and those borders have been malleable forever. We're sending billions to a corrupt Ukrainian regime, to cover for US corruption. I don't want NATO and the US to control the Black Sea ports. I don't trust us anymore.
But it's nice to know there are liberals out there, and in here that are will to sacrifice tens of thousands of Ukrainian lives for this pretend protection of democracy.

I’m pretty happy with the guy, Patrick McHenry, who is the current acting Speaker. Anyone who can make Nancy Pelosi cry is a good man in my book.

I knew that presidential primary contests were to a large extent about who could raise money. But now it turns out that even the Speaker is about fundraising not leadership. Kevin McCarthy was a rainmaker when it came to fundraising for republicans. Jim Jordan has .00001% of McCarthy's fundraising ability.
