"Isaacson... writes at length and with compassion about the indignities heaped upon young Elon by schoolmates."

"Elon, an awkward, lonely boy, was bored in school and had a tendency to call other kids 'stupid'; he was also very often beaten up, and his father frequently berated him, but when he was ten, a few years after his parents divorced, he chose to live with him. (Musk is now estranged from his father, a conspiracist who has called Joe Biden a 'pedophile President,' and who has two children by his own stepdaughter; he has said that 'the only thing we are here for is to reproduce.' Recently, he warned Elon, in an e-mail, that 'with no Whites here, the Blacks will go back to the trees.')..."

Writes Jill Lepore, in "How Elon Musk Went from Superhero to Supervillain/Walter Isaacson’s new biography depicts a man who wields more power than almost any other person on the planet but seems estranged from humanity itself" (The New Yorker).

Biden can at least be credibly suspected, given (among other things) his daughter's experiences with him. I guess it becomes "conspiracy theory" when it's suggested by a Woody Allen wannabe.

So, Musk's father is a conspiracist who has called Joe Biden a pedophile President. May one ask how Musk the Elder came by that notion? It couldn't be Ashley Biden's diary, because that document has been labeled a forgery by Ashley herself, regardless of the squad of FBI stormtroopers illegally dispatched by the Resident himself to confiscate it. And it can't be the numerous photos and videos of young girls being pawed and sniffed by Dear Leader. Obviously, they enjoyed the attention, and everyone knows it ain't pervy if the kid asks for it.

If Isaacson's new "biography" is longer than one sentence it's too long. There's only reason the fascists who will buy that screed consider Musk a supervillain. He captured their most effective propaganda organ and turned it back on them.

I would exercise caution in attributing to Isaacson much of what this standard issue Dumb Little Lefty Brain New Yorker writer vomited up.

If you can spare the time to listen to the Fridman interview of Isaacson speaking about Musk you'll come away with a much better understanding of Isaacson's rather compkex and nuanced understanding of not only Musk, but other accomplished entrepreneur genius types:

https://x.com/lexfridman/status/1700951257764999237?t=5TrHwao8cv0xWjQkzNUDsA&s=01

A couple quick hits that Isaacson touched on:
- Smart people are all around us, but few do anything remarkable wi th that. It takes a creative spark that leaps beyond what a smart person might be thinking to see connections and possibilities that change the world

- Elon is not a multi-tasker at all. Elon is a serial single tasker that is able to bring his full and complete attention to each problem or business in a high intensity, hard core way

- Steve Jobs was once asked what his greatest creation was. Instead of naming a product, he said it was the teams he assembled to achieve things

- Isaacson made note of how Elon's hard core philsophy and idefatigable work regime was extremely hard on individuals yet Musk has found the competent people who can survive and thrive in that envirinment

- Isaacson thinks the greatest "team" ever assembled was our Founding Fathers (that alone will make the Dumb Little Lefty Brains explode)

Lots more insider details at the link.

Musk and the US government are not at war with Russia, you dumb fuck. Musk specifically laid out the terms under which he was providing, for free, Starlink's services. When Ukraine was clearly going to violate them, he withdrew access, and he was right to so. His responsibilities in this regard are not to the US government or Ukraine- they are to his co-owners of the business itself.

So, Rich, when are you enlisting in the Ukrainian army?

Actually, not quite accurate. He didn’t turn it off. Rather, He didn’t turn it on, for what was obviously a deep strike by the Ukrainians on Russian infrastructure, that likely would have killed innocent civilians. His excuse was that he didn’t want to engage in War Crimes.

Drago said...

Rich: "Musk has confirmed the story that he turned off Starlink to thwart a Ukrainian military operation."

Another desperate and pathetic lefty lie.

Musk confirmed no such thing.

In fact, he confirmed the OPPOSITE: He simply refused to "turn on" new geo services in an area where services were NOT already being provided.

The reasons for that are obvious and manifest.

SpaceX /Starlink have delivered a US military owned satellite cofiguration where the government an choose to do what it wants with its data sd connectivity.

This is just another smear and lie about Musk the Usual Lefty/LLR Lefty liars launched to continue the attacks on Musk in order to lay the groundwork for future Lawfare Attacks to remove Musk from control of X (and reestablish lefty/LLR Lefty censorship control), from control of Tesla (to reward the auto unions and VC types) and control of SpaceX (to reward Biden and DC's ChiCom masters).

Musk said he didn't turn it off, it was already off. He was asked to turn it on and refused, that is not quite the same thing. He may be lying, but I doubt it. He seems happy to stand by his decisions.

The Ukrainians definitely had some sort of communications, there is onboard video from the attacks. The navigation satellites have no relation to Starlink, so drones could still find their way. What may have been missing was first person control.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoniopequenoiv/2023/09/09/did-musk-thwart-ukraine-attack-on-russia-the-starlink-controversy-explained/

“Elon Musk has confirmed key parts of a forthcoming biography that claimed he refused Ukraine’s request to use SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network for a drone attack on a Russian naval fleet in the Black Sea last year—an incident that’s enraged Ukraine officials and reportedly concerned their Western allies—but that Musk continues to defend, saying it kept his company from being “explicitly complicit in a major act of war.”

Rich just keeps on lying like his lefty lying media organs.

From the bioghapher himself, Walter Isaacson, on Sept 8 on X:

"To clarify on the Starlink issue: the Ukrainians THOUGHT coverage was enabled all the way to Crimea, but it was not. They asked Musk to enable it for their drone sub attack on the Russian fleet. Musk did not enable it, because he thought, probably correctly, that would cause a major war."
8:55PM 8 Sep 23 from Queens NY

And here is Elon Musk's response to Isaacson's clear, irrefutable clarification:

Elon Musk
"Much appreciated, Walter.

The onus is meaningfully different if I refused to act upon a request from Ukraine vs. made a deliberate change to Starlink to thwart Ukraine.

At no point did I or anyone at SpaceX promise coverage over Crimea.

Moreover, our terms of service clearly prohibit Starlink for offensive military action, as we are a civilian system, so they were again asking for something that was expressly prohibited.

SpaceX is building Starshield for the US government, which is similar to, but much smaller than Starlink, as it will not have to handle millions of users. That system will be owned and controlled by the US government."
9:10 PM 8 Sep 23

And now we will sit back and see how Rich deals with this latest debunking of so very very very many lefty lies and mischaracterizations that was blasted out with perfect uniformity by our current New Soviet Democratical controlled Pravda.

I wouldn't expect Rich to move to reality on this.

That's your big take away from this thread topic and comments?

LOL

And there it is: Senator Warren calls for investigations of Musk and SpaceX/Starlink based on the latest New Soviet Democraticals Russia Russia Russia lies.

This is why the New Soviet Democratical "Bat Signal" went up and alerted all the lefties/LLR-lefties to push those Ukraine lies 24/7, as Rich is dutifully doing.

And this after Warren previously called for investigations of Musk for "conflicts of interest" over Tesla and the purchase of twitter.

These New Soviet Democraticals know they don't have to even try to be subtle because the marxist jig is up and the dems know they have at least half the GOPe in their back pocket.

Wow, what a crazy conspiracist.

On the other hand, there's this....

JOHANNESBURG, July 2 (Reuters) - South Africa's electricity minister said on Sunday the country was closer to ending daily power cuts.

Just sayin'

Rich: "How to tarnish your reputations immediately."

That would be you.

Rich: "Isaacson's retraction and 'correction' of what was written on Musk shows the lack of credibility he has,..."

It wasn't a retraction. It was a clarification made necessary by the New Soviet Democraticals serial lies vomited up for political purposes to attack a poitical enemy of the New Soviet Democratical Party.

Rich: "given how much traction the starlink fiasco has caused,..."

Its precisely the same volume of "traction" and as much of a "fiasco" as every other New Soviet Democratical lie over the last 8 years: Russia russia russia, hoax dossier, insurrection, "fine people" hoax, "drink bleach" hoax, etc.

Transparent.

This is the level of desperation on the part of the lefties/LLR-left to get twitter/X back under censorship control AND slow down SpaceX to serve the New Soviet Democraticals ChiCom paymasters.

Comrade Drago, your comments read like parody. How could this even pass through Althouse's editorial process? Has Comrade Drago been hacked?

Very good!

Given the complete collapse of your New Soviet Democratical talking points, which was inevitable, you worked in both typical "LLR" angles in your response:
- Russia Russia Russia
- Criticism of Althouse moderation

LOL

It doesn't get any more "LLR"-y than that now, does it?
