I'm shocked, shocked. In the US House of Representatives!

What is this, Rick's Cafe?

Money Laundering?

The Biden family crooks should be in prison. Alas- our justice system does not apply to the mob(D).

Wait a minute. You can get arrested for lying to Congress! When does Blinken get the manacles?

The Feds turned his staffers as soon as he took office, apparently. Don't know if he's guilty or not, but it is interesting to observe how political motivation can alter the course and speed of the Administrative branch's investigative arms. Who was it that planted those pipe bombs, again? And when did all those laptop investigations get wrapped up, with 'nothing interesting found'? I missed the story.

Yet the Bidens criminal cabal is still up and running. Let it fall. We deserve it. Enjoy the downfall.

I thought Santos was a slimy creep, but if the DOJ is involved the odds are that he's either an innocent scapegoat or pawn used to distract from Hunter.

Now do Joe!

This is how things are done now. The courts and law enforcement agencies have been fully politicized. The uniparty powers that be know that the country is in terminal decline, and they intend to do whatever it takes to retain their own positions and wealth.

Great news, we can arrest members of Congress for lying. This is going to be fun!

Remember when Hunter Biden wrote that message to his sister complaining about how he had to pay all of the expenses of the Biden family, and complaining that Pop took half his earnings?

That wasn't money laundering because Hunter is a Democrat.

How many more do they need to arrest to turn the House? Not many.

"In one email, Hunter Biden asked if the two men could meet, and in the other, after the meeting, Blinken says, “great to see you and catch up.” - Factcheck.org

These emails setting up a meeting, and acknowledging the meeting, is Hunter a registered foreign agent?, anyway, Blinken lied and claimed that he never emailed Hunter, despite using email to set up and thank Hunter for the meeting. This is not simply "an exchange of pleasantries" as DisinformationSpigot.org puts it.

What went on with the meeting? They probably talked about their grandchildren, or something. But Blinken is a Democrat, so the FBI has zero interest in such lies. You have to hand it to Democrats, their control of the press and the "just us system" would have made Goebbels blush.

Nancy Pelosi wipes sweat from her brow, now that DOJ has homed in on George Santos. She has no need to fear an investigation on her insider trading.

"Multiple Biden family members received money from the Chinese after it passed through an associate’s account. Additionally, Hunter Biden received money directly into his company’s account from a Chinese-controlled entity." - House

Hunter used that money, by his own admission, to pay the expenses of the Biden family, including college for Joe Biden's grandchildren, and repairs on Joe Biden's home. That's textbook money laundering and tax evasion right there.

And so much of this money comes from a country where Joe Biden has dragged us into a war to get his billionaire oligarch funders out of hot water, and yes, his big mouth has dragged us to the edge of war with China as well. So the Chinese released the evidence of his corruption to the Republicans. The Chinese never do anything by accident. Joe Biden is a complete moron, when he flunked third grade, that was a clue. The two brain aneurisms, well, he didn't have a lot of horsepower up there to spare.

But Joe Biden has one saving grace, the 'D' after his name, so he's untouchable.

The false statements to Congress charge likely cannot stand because of the Speech and Debate Clause immunizes members.

The other charges relating to fraud to obtain election funds, if they stand, could also open the door to criminalizing many statements and promises a candidate makes during an election.

Swift Justice is Garland’s calling card, right? What a coincidence to happen during the news conference detailing the Biden family money laundering scheme. This administration shows how to do synchronicity and sibilance that the cat’s paw Media can use for cover and confusion. Well done Deep State. [Insert golf clap here.]

cassandra lite said...

And all the charges will be magically dismissed if he agrees to step down from the House.

Drago said...

I suspect this "investigation" was rushed by the DOJ to try and blunt the Comer press conference this morning where the Biden corruption was going to be laid out in detail, including bank records, transaction details, cash flows, witness testimony, etc.

It's pretty clear the DOJ/FBI/National Security State know the jig is up on their partisan activities so there's really no point in even trying to hide it anymore.

BOGUS he is nowhere near the right wing SCOTUS graft and corruption,(Thomas,Alito,Roberts ETC) its just part of the show now. George has always been ready to be charged it was just a matter when. He can still vote for the speaker of the House (margorie t green) so no big deal. Hey will have many more charges coming in the drip drip of the congressional drama. Nothing the serfs down here can do, no longer believe in voting so deal with it, just let them eat cake!

Dropping the Santos news moments before McCarthy's statement on possible Hunter/Joe Biden felonies is an especially nice touch by Merrick Garland's DOJ.

Haha!

These are your cultivated -- moderated -- commenters, Althouse.

Defenders of George Santos.

This would all be different if, say, Donald Trump could appoint the US Attorney for Delaware, who could really go after Hunter Biden. Wait. Uh, no; that already happened.

Okay then; well maybe if Trump had a cooperative Attorney General, who appointed a special counsel to investigate how and why the DoJ was always going after Trump. No, wait; that also already happened.

Well, whatever.

Jupiter said...

Well, you have to admit, Santos does appear to be a ringer. Somebody paid him a bunch of money to get his greasy little hands on a congressional seat. Just like AOC, in fact.

dwshelf said...

The natural reaction to all this would be criminal charges against Garland and Biden.

A sorry direction.

And now there is direct evidence that Joe Biden was accepting bribes while VP in exchange for policy decisions.

Nope didn't endure. It's over. The great experiment ended in the same manner predicted by Ayn Rand, Orwell, etc...

Turns out the entire experiment hinged on the right to a 3rd trimester abortion for college educated white women. Nothing else ever mattered.

It should be up to his constituents if they want him to represent them. He's only one of 435 members and his term is only 2 years. If they want him out, they can vote him out soon. This is more of a threat to democracy than the stuff the Democrats usually whine about.

Precisely.

Apparently Dinky believes everything he is told by MSNBC and repeats it as if it is gospel.

Unemployment insurance fraud during pandemic. Lying about non-existent super PAC to score money from donors for personal use. Multiple false filings on financial disclosure forms with Congress. I bet they file a superseding indictment if he does not plead soon. What's behind the false filings suggests a much bigger grift to be uncovered.

Santos made of one the major blunders- never get involved in land war in Asia, and never cheat, steal, and lie as a Republican congressman. The same sets of facts with Santos a Democrat in Congress, these charges are never brought, and everyone fucking knows it, too.

Literally everything out of this guy’s mouth has been an outrageous lie, and yet your cranky commenters immediately dismiss any criminal charge against this fraud and instead play a political game. It’s reflexive.

He was wanted by the Brazilian authorities as well. Lemme guess, you must feel that was all political too.

If facts, evidence or all the people he’s defrauded mattered at all to American fascist Republicans, you’d think they’d at least show a slight interest in those details from the unsealed indictment. Address the evidence.

But no, politics are more important to these commenters than any interest in the charges, his crimes, and the people he’s defrauded. Just as you’d expect them to be to any fascist defending their party footsoldiers. Loyalty to party over any morality or sense of reality. That’s what the Republican voter is.

What worthless lives these skittish, cranky sheeple must lead. (Or follow).

hpudding said...

I’m convinced that for your spineless commenters, George Santos much seem like a model of integrity.

They wish they could lie as brazenly and fraudulently as he does.

They see his behavior as evidence of character and virtue, according to how they’d define it.

ken in tx said...

They have to make the charges felonies to get around the congressional immunity provisions of the constitution. However, over the years almost everything has been made a felony. Prosecutorial discretion will protect Democrats from this injustice.
