McCormick specifically noted a key dialogue involving then-VP Biden, aide Jake Sullivan and the press on Air Force Two before an April 21, 2014 trip to Kyiv, Ukraine, in which Sullivan - now Biden's national security adviser - outlined a US investment in the Ukrainian energy sector just days after Hunter joined the board of Burisma.

Months after the trip, Congress allocated $50 million to Ukraine's energy market.

"I'm sitting back there with a tape recorder. Jake Sullivan comes back and somebody asks about fracking. His answer is, well, we're bringing a lot of American assistance over for fracking. Burisma was the direct beneficiary of that fracking, and that's what I recorded, and that's in a White House transcript," said McCormick, adding: "In the transcript, you don't know who Jake Sullivan is. It's a senior administration official. I'm the witness that says Jake Sullivan is the guy who said it and he should be investigated because at the time Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma and Joe Biden is bringing American taxpayer money to enrich that company and himself and his family."; 4/14/23, 11:20 AM

In translation, that means that traders and active investors are pretty complacent about stock prices. Yet the S&P 500 has traded sideways for 10 months. The complacent psychology seems like it's been lulled to sleep by that. I wonder if it's due for a wake-up call.

What if that wake-up call contains some bad news? Tempers are fraying, as recent debates even on this blog site have shown. It wouldn't take much to push more than a few into rage, on the general scale, it seems to me. What if the stock market has another leg down? How angry would the average American get if his wealth took another hit? The broad center has been remarkably forebearing in the face of all the depradations of the election, the hoaxes, the pandemic lockdown, the extreme variance of judicial treatment, and the corruption in the administration and its feckless behavior in all things international.

That forebearance could go, at least at the margins, couldn't it? What if a right-wing type actually went out and committed violence and destruction like so many left-wingers have done? Would it be anything more, really, than a delayed reaction to the vile treatment being dished out by Democrats, liberals, leftists.... call them what you will. The Antifa Generation. The BLM club. The DNC Stalinists. Let's face it, it is no secret that plenty of people would like them to get a taste of their own medicine. Maybe that comes in the next act of this American tragicomedy melodrama. Today, Boeing announced that some of the 737-Max fuselages had quality problems and had halted deliveries. The fuselages are manufactured by Spirit AeroSystems, a spinoff from Boeing Commercial Aircraft in 2005. I can't remember who decided to do the spinoff, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Harry Stonecipher.
