I'm thinking of quoting one of the Bobs — Dole or Dylan — for the title of this post I've been trying all morning to write.

Bob Dole:

Where's the outrage?

Bob Dylan:

An’ here I sit so patiently
Waiting to find out what price
You have to pay to get out of
Going through all these things twice

Why not go with, "Oh, Mama"?

Maybe you could put one of Dylan's songs into the third person.

Or, you can try Bob Hope: You can always tell when a man’s well-informed… his views are pretty much like yours.

The leftists have a stranglehold on the media, through the doj the fbi, cia, govt beaucracy. They have "dirt" on everyone, and they're going scorched earth in time for the next presidential election. They will attempt to destroy anyone who dares go against their narrative.

We're no longer allowed to have a fair and balanced media; that's been deemed dangerous by leftists, because they can't defend their policies and ideology against logic and reason without lies and deception. So only state approved propaganda aimed at their shallow thinking voting base is to be allowed.

Here's to them destroying themselves instead in their attempt to destroy our First Amendment rights.

Bob Dole. Bob Dylan.

Now that I think about it, I'm surprised I never saw the similarities between them. Kind of cosmic peas in a pod. I'm getting almost religious-level tingles from this transformative revelation.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I want to write a post expressive of my dismay that the 2024 presidential campaign is turning into an inevitable repeat of the already awful 2020 campaign. It was bad enough to go through the 2020 campaign once and it's bad to go through any presidential campaign twice, but to go through the 2020 campaign twice is just such an outrage. Why aren't people kicking and screaming as we're dragged into this?!

Ditto.

Plus, there are both 4 years older now!

There has been plenty of kicking and screaming. Fat lot of good it has done us. We're still getting the same shitty candidates. Resignation and fatigue win the day. We all lose.

the gop contest has not really started in earnest, but the powerplayers have their candidate, and we discovered in 2020, it didn't matter whose ideas were expressed, except for the agenda,

Yes, the 2024 election. Democrats have used Wisconsin as an election laboratory, that much is obvious.

Because when you protest an election you believe was rigged, you get put in the DC gulag with no trial for over 2 years and they you get a Progressive judge and jury to put you away for years. Progressives CAN protest, and burn down buildings and cars when THEY are upset, with the Vice President sending out tweets to help bail them out, but Conservatives pay a higher price for taking selfies

"Stuck Inside of Mobile" is one of my favorite Dylan songs ever, and Grateful Dead used to perform a good cover of it also. Yes, it is going to be a terrible campaign. Like a bad nightmare that won't end. I'm wondering how Ron D. feels this morning... the only guy he has to beat is literally on trial for rape. How completely weird.

I doubt if either will be on the ballot then. They are both being erased, the Bidens of their own malfeasance; Trump by some of his own doing, some of his opponents' doing, and the rest from extreme DJT fatigue among the electorate.

In which case, I second my own nomination of "Oh, Mama!" (the way he does it after the third verse).

Kicking and screaming don't matter anymore. The Uniparty already has things all figured out. Just as Tucker said. They don't need no stinking voters anymore.

The democrats need to go after Trump a little harder. So far they are just kids gloving him.

"It was bad enough..."to live through the lie of The Steele Dossier, to listen to the sore losers talk about impeaching Trump before he was even sworn in as president, to go through the impeachment process twice for nothing more than political revenge,to listen to the lies repeated, over and over, in the "Fine People" speech, enduring the outrageous questions asked at press conferences by a bunch of ideologue, so called "journalists", the blatant ignoring of our beautiful, sincere First Lady on the cover of any ladies publication and having to look at retreads of Michelle, listening to Pelosi, Schummer and watching their disrespectful meetings with Trump in the White House. They NEVER gave President Trump a chance from day one with their relentless criticisms, bogus charges and tax payer funded investigations to bring him down. And yet, he prevailed on every front without them. Had they put their cheating schemes into effect in 2016 for Hillary we'd all be singing Kum-By-A and "our democracy" would be safe, right? But, they didn't have to,did they? Who was going to vote for that self-promoting, New York Billionaire when you could have the compassionate, child advocate,"good wife", former Secretary of State, NY Senator Hillary Clinton. Well, it didn't work out that way. TRUMP WON! And Trump will win again. This time around we'll have a much clearer understanding of who the political rats are in both parties, not to mention the Military Industrial Complex. We are most certainly living in interesting times. God help us!

The Hill has an interesting story about Presidential election rematches. Grover Cleveland is the only person elected President who lost his reelection bid and then came back to win. He won the popular vote all in all three elections, but lost the electoral college in the second. So one can see his claim to run again the third time, and he was vindicated by winning.

Donald Trump has lost the popular vote both times he has run. Trump may be the Republicans’ best chance to win, if you count pretending to win even though you lost as winning. Trump is The Great Pretender.

If you don’t like Joe Biden, he may be The Great Pretender to you too, particularly if you pretend he didn’t win. But he did win, so of course he is going to run again.

I think the Dylan quote is spot on.

People should be outraged by a repeat of Trump and Biden running again. Most Americans don't want it but don't see a viable alternative for stopping it.

There's wide lane open for a credible third party candidate. No idea who that could be.
