Burning emits much more carbon than natural decay, but natural decay emits a lot of Methane, and methane is 100 times more greenhousie than carbon, so it sounds like burning trees is better for the environment than letting them rot. This is all because the east side (Back) of the house is where all the wild life move through, Turkeys, Deer, coyotes, Birds. So we have built an expensive, and hopefully comfortable, viewing room. So far its over $100 sq ft.
