Post 7 of 15 - Clyde's Top 10 Favorite "New" Songs of 2022
#9 - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - You Get Me High (Nobody's Children - 2015 Remaster)

In 1995, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released a 6-CD box set, 'Playback.' Discs 5 and 6 were 27 tracks that were previously unreleased or unavailable on CD, titled 'Through the Cracks' and 'Nobody's Children.' In 2015, both were remastered and made available for online download and streaming, but as of 2020, only 'Nobody's Children' is still available. This song was recorded around 1992, since there is a live version on YouTube recorded in Frankfurt, Germany, in March 1992 where Petty mentions that it is a new song. The band was touring in support of their 1991 album 'Into the Great Wide Open,' and didn't release another studio album until 1996, which is why this song ended up on a box set compilation rather than receiving more attention. This song should not be confused with 'U Get Me High,' which is a different song that appeared on the 2014 album 'Hypnotic Eye.'

The problem with the #TwitterFiles is the way and rate at which they come. Each drop could, if given legs, be worthy of no less than 6 months of wall-to-wall coverage resulting in grand juries, RICO charges, and the rest. Yet here we are 2-3wks in on drop 6, or is it 8 already?

One thing has become obvious, gadfly is who the Republicans are. Fuck them all.

Good luck fighting your endless wars without recruits, BTW, too.

The army dropped its 2022 goal by 9,000 and then missed that new target by 15,000. We have a government of transparent liars, who brewed a bat-human virus in a lab, OK, they paid China to do it, and then demand that recruits receive experimental shots, when they are in a cohort that is minimally at risk from COVID, and the shots don't really do much for them, at best.

https://www.defenseone.com/policy/2022/12/army-misplacing-blame-its-recruiting-crisis/380361/

Speaking of US bio-labs overseas that our government funds to get around restrictions here, as if putting a germ lab on the other side of the planet is any protection at all:

Judicial Watch announced today it received 345 pages of records from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), a component of the U.S. Department of Defense, revealing that the United States funded anthrax laboratory activities in a Ukrainian biolab in 2018. Dozens of pages are completely redacted, and many others are heavily redacted. The records show over $11 million in funding for the Ukraine biolabs program in 2019.

Hunter Biden was involved in setting up these labs as son of the Vice President, in 2014. First place I go to get a deal done is a crackhead, but a crackhead with connections at the highest levels of government.

Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners invested $500,000 in the San Francisco pathogen research company Metabiota and raised millions more through firms that included Goldman Sachs, according to the e-mails found on the computer, which was abandoned at a Delaware repair shop in April 2019 as Joe Biden ran for president. - NY Post

This is your government. This is how it works. They lie to you every day, shamelessly, and at scale. Your president is deeply involved in Ukrainian corruption. Republicans don't care anymore than gadfly does. Like I said, he is the Republican Party, and we should stop deluding ourselves that it represents us.

Happy solstice,

And lo, shall it be written in the tomes of history, that as ever before the dawn of a new millennia brought forth a great madness that seized the inhabitants of earth in a savage grip. Of the old religions most were ignored and belittled, only the pagan Gaia and Marx worship prospered and were honored. Of the new, many grew as weeds and as quickly disappeared before the raised eyebrow and the exorcism of "Dude, seriously?"

Great were the lamentations and denial when the prophets of the sharp pants crease and the really strange hair proved to have feet of clay. Many put aside their stigma of the cursed of Luna and chose to worship and encourage them even unto the affirmation of self-mutilation. Things only got weirder from then on.

As the huddled masses grew inured to the great pestilence that killed 3 in a thousand, they ventured forth and engaged in such scenes of decadence and debauchery as had not been witnessed since the reign of Caligula or the go-go eighties.

It was in the midst of these tumultuous times that a fading empire chose to pour blood and treasure into an attempt to regain its glory by reconquering the most corrupt of its former vassals. Great was the surprise when it discovered the empire's universally feared weapons were as weak as the resolve of its conscripts.

As great was the surprise of the corrupt vassals when they discovered the magic of the Javelin and the Stinger. Loud were the demands for blood and treasure to protect the allied states of a rival empire. Immediate were the denials for blood and great was the embarrassment of the discovery of how few of the magic weapons the allied states and indeed the rival empire could supply, in recompense great treasure poured forth to the corrupt vassals. Which did wonders for the banks and villa values of Switzerland and the south of France.....

Tune in next millennia to see if the H bombs fly and if the rival empire ever admits that once you pay the Danegeld you never get rid of the Dane.

In a nation of free people with over 300 million legally owned firearms, it's very hard to understand.

The Dems are deliberately destroying our nation from every direction. They deliberately wrecked the economy and our energy, and continue to spend. They opened our border and are encouraging the invasion, the fentanyl, the child sex trafficking, the chaos, the overload on our social systems. They appear to be in favor of WW3 + Nukes. They turn criminal loose and destroy our law enforcement. They castrate and poison and support killing our children. I very recently thought China was our biggest threat, but I'm starting to think that China might end up being our best overlord. That's how late it is.

Meanwhile, many Republican Senators are there to say "We tried our best. They scored 140 points on us, but they let us kick a field goal!" And the FBI, which just got a new headquarters and more $$$ for prosecuting grannies taking selfies, tells us "Of course we paid Twitter to censor the content, we do that stuff all the time."

They HAD to destroy Trump. And they STILL HAVE TO grind him into dust.

TikTok, owned by ByteDance of China, tracked multiple journalists covering the company, improperly gaining access to their IP addresses and user data in an attempt to identify whether they had been in the same locales as ByteDance employees.

According to materials reviewed by Forbes, ByteDance tracked multiple Forbes journalists as part of a covert surveillance campaign designed to unearth the source of leaks inside the company following a drumbeat of stories exposing the company’s ongoing links to China.

Perhaps Elmo, the Chief Twit, could end this attack by buying TikTok, but Republicans Sen Marco Rubio and Rep Mike Gallagher want to protect Americans by blocking and prohibiting all transactions from any social media company in, or under the influence of China and Russia, so Musk's dwindling wealth and his freedom of speech cause may yet be saved by the government.

It is no surprise that nobody wants Joe Biden to run for President if he is still alive in 2023. So Governor Gavin and Mayor Pete pop to the top of the Dem list but maybe, just maybe, we could see Marianne Williamson, the spiritual activist, and 2020 candidate, who is actively making significant moves toward challenging Biden.

As Leonard Cohen sang: "Now so long, Marianne, it's time that we began to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again."

But you have to admit that she is far more attractive than Bernie and far more pleasant than Lizzy Warren, "who took an axe . . ."

Deaths Among CCP Elites Rise as COVID-19 Wave Hits China

"It started with a high fever, a telltale sign of COVID-19, that soon led to a positive test result. Yang Lianghua, formerly a senior reporter for the Chinese communist regime’s official mouthpiece People’s Daily and the chief editor of the newspaper’s international edition, then had to wait in the emergency room for a bed in Beijing’s top hospital, which was already beyond packed.

With intervention from the state media’s senior executives and the hospital director, Yang was eventually admitted to the intensive care unit, where he died hours later. The cause of his death was a bacterial lung infection.

Yang was one of a long list of prominent figures tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who died amid a surge in Omicron sweeping China, after the regime abruptly loosened its years-long draconian COVID-19 restrictions that had shuttered businesses, crippled China’s economy, and made it a challenge for the Chinese population to sustain their basic lives.

The abrupt U-turn in direction, however, was made without the provision of resources and policies to help the populace deal with the mounting cases of infections.

The country’s health system has been ill-prepared. As the virus spread across households, chaos has erupted in hospitals and crematoriums, and even Chinese elites, known for the privileges they enjoy, haven’t been immune from the whiplash.

In addition to Yang, those who’ve died over the past few weeks include Zhou Zhichun, former deputy chief editor and vice president for the state-owned China Youth Daily; politician Zhi Zhihong, who once chaired the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; 39-year-old Peking Opera actress Chu Lanlan; Marxist economist Hu Jun; former National Sports Commission vice director Liu Ji; the designer of the mascots from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Wu Guanying; as well as dozens of illustrious professors at two of China’s most prestigious academic institutions, Peking University and Tsinghua University.

About a dozen leading health experts have also died, including Nan Dengkun, who is credited with having pioneered China’s medical rehabilitation industry, and top pharmaceutical scientist Wei Shuli.

Official Figures a Vast Understatement
Despite the uptick in obituaries of prominent individuals appearing on state media outlets, few details were mentioned about their causes of death.

The Chinese regime has turned to its well-worn playbook of vastly understating COVID infection and death figures in a bid to tamp down news that tarnishes the CCP’s image. The National Health Commission has so far counted only a handful of COVID deaths—nine over a span of three weeks. Only patients dying of COVID-induced pneumonia and respiratory failure are included in this figure. Those with underlying causes don’t count.

But accounts on the ground present a far grimmer picture.

Funeral parlors across the country are running around the clock to burn bodies, and health authorities are encouraging medics who retired over the past five years to rejoin the workforce to ease the staff shortage. Many medical staff on duty are sick themselves with COVID. A top Beijing hospital surgeon told Chinese media that around 70 percent of health workers at his unit were sick, including himself, but that he had to keep working.

London-based health research firm Airfinity estimated that more than 5,000 people are likely dying each day from COVID-19, based on modeling from regional Chinese data.

Dont believe your own eyes here in the US. Get fully inoculated with CCP "approved" propaganda.

A medicine that you call a vaccine, but does not prevent contraction of the named virus, or prevent the infected from spreading the named virus, by definition are a sham. Covid NOT a danger for a large percentage of the population free of the short list of co-morbidities.

Another Time, or any, Man of the Year bites the dust. Musk has done great things this year, at least re Twitter; but his main wealth-creating business has suffered and now it is apparent that Tesla had peaked before that public "recognition." If anyone still looks at Time magazine.

TSLA stock was trading between 250 and 350 (split-adjusted) last winter when the award was given. It was in the 120s this week. Another Award given too late.
