"Right-wing"..."far right"...Once an idea or movement becomes a majority, or close to a majority, it's no longer extreme, the person applying the label is.
Excuses, excuses. Lefty fishwrap like the Timesare great at concocting excuses.
"Right-wing" is starting to sound like the trigger word in a particularly sodden Democrat drinking game.
fears among right-wing Jews about perceived threats to Israel’s Jewish identity and to their personal safety. A wave of interethnic riots in May 2021 unsettled their sense of security, a feeling that was compounded months later by the inclusion — for the first time in Israeli history — of an Arab party in the coalition government....
Tracks pretty closely to issues in the U.S., riots and displacement of what was long the majority of citizens, along with the "perceived" qualifier. NYT runs these elections through one old, constantly running ideological machine, which spits out nearly identical articles.
Good - Netanyahu is one of the all-time greats.
This is what will happen in any country in the world that has transparent honest elections.
What the Biden administration is doing in Brazil right now is morally disgusting and egregious.
Biden just told everyone that they plan on mailing in enough ballots to steal the midterms and that they were going to take as many days to count these ballots as they need to keep democrats in power.
The left wing party Meretz, with 6 Knesset seats, helped bring down the government by voting no on an important West Bank issue. Now it has been wiped out by failing to get 3.25% of the vote.
The right-wing Jews in Israel are fearful of their personal safety? From who?
You can knock him down, but you can't count him out. Unreal.
Just in case NYT readers don't get the message: right-wing, right-wing, far right, right-wing.
I am old enough to remember when the NT Times didn't editorialize in their news articles.
But I am pretty damned old.
On second thought maybe I was just naive.
Third time’s the charm
Did the Times report in the same manner about the return of left-wing radical Lula da Silva in Brazil?
"fears among right-wing Jews"
"Fears" - bullshit. Lefties never miss an occasion to take a backhanded shot at their enemies. Recognition of a danger is not in itself fear.
"Good - Netanyahu is one of the all-time greats."
His brother, Yonatan, was the only Israeli commando killed in the raid on Entebbe.
Far far far right wing
The right side of the spectrum is counting coup internationally.
Like a bad penny, the locusts, or Joe Biden, Bibi comes back every decade or two. When he does, investigations get started to get rid of him again.
Except in Brazil, where the anti war position came from the left.
I have discovered on Twitter that the international left considers American lefties to be basically either deluded or fascist, given that they support the Democrats when push comes to shove. This checks out.
Libertarian?
Bibi is pro Jewish survival in the middle of an actual fascist world surrounding the largest concentration of Jews on earth being targeted by Iran.
Hard times make strong men...
To Robert Cook: Answer- The enemy within; radicals facilitating terrorist activity, and the enemy without, jihadists intent on wiping you off the face of the earth. You would be afraid too if missiles were launched into your neighborhood on a regular basis.
Robert Cook: "The right-wing Jews in Israel are fearful of their personal safety? From who?"
The gaslighting isn't working anymore comrade. And it has led to a clear mandate being given to the newly elected coalition led by Netanyahu by the Israeli people for the first time in 5 elections.
Congratulations.

==========
tell that to TRUMP!
Jake: "You can knock him down, but you can't count him out. Unreal."
It's quite real, and understandable. The outgoing PM was the head of a coalition party that reached barely 61 seats (in the 120 seat Knesset) and the party of that PM had only won 8 seats in the previous election.
So, with basically no real public support, the outgoing govt leader attempted to lead Israel in policy directions which were not campaigned upon and received no popular mandate, and with the "support" of an Arab party that seeks the destruction of the state of Israel.
Where would you expect this political "experiment" to end up?
And does it sound familiar? Joe Biden was installed (81 MillionLOLvotes) to supposedly restore "normality" and look where the globalist authoritarians are taking us.
Which explains why the results for next Tuesday are lining up the way they are...and why the New Soviet Democraticals are already calling for days and days of waiting for election "results".......
The election results in Israel is also a repudiation by the Israeli's of the lunatic left Reform Judaism movement in the Jewish diaspora, particularly in North America.
The Israeli's have every intention of maintaining their traditional Jewish heritage, culture and religious practices. They will not go quietly into that dystopian "good night" that their enemies plan for them.
The right-wing Jews in Israel are fearful of their personal safety? From who?
Oh I don't know, how about the people who have been murdering, terrorizing and making war on them for the last 80 years or so?
Maybe by the people who have and are threatening to kill them and destroy their country?
Maybe the people who are sending drones and missiles through their skies trying to kill them?
Odd how far right extremists are composed of the majority of the people of a country or state.

Talk about clueless ! Have you noticed that Jews are murdered every week? By who you might say. By the Arab terrorists who live next door.
Trump brought about the Abraham Accords but the Biden regime is as hostile to Israel as the Arabs.
Quick question: has Stacey Abrams declared herself the "real" PM of Israel yet?
Let's start a mean meme-- Biden is the 81MiLOLion Vote Man.
I'm surprised that Israel even exists now. For a long time, decades, I thought that sooner or later the surrounding Muslim countries would get their acts together over the same two weeks and grab an easy win with overwhelming force.
With a likely nuclear outcome, of course, but that's what I thought most likely.
Now they can be obliterated without the participation of mass armies, or even near neighbors.
That part of the world has been dangerous for a long time, and Bibi's restoration doesn't move the needle much either way IMO.
Rory,
"His brother, Yonatan, was the only Israeli commando killed in the raid on Entebbe."
That was an incredible operation.
So Bibi wins at least a 62 seat majority in the election, but he's going to form an 'extreme' right-wing government. Maybe even the 'most extreme' right-wing government in Israel's history. Right-wing is Scary! Did I mention the mid-term elections here, next week? Extreme! Scary!
This was Israel's 5th election in the last few years.
in the first three Bibi managed to keep the "we hate Bibi Party" from winning. IMO, the pro-Bibi people, the people who actually value Israel's security (no one on the Left actually values it. Because no one who actually values Israel's security thinks that negotiating with terrorists is a good idea) got complacent.
Which is why the bad guys won the 4th election.
However, "we hate Bibi" isn't sufficient to govern on. So they had power for a short while, and then it collapsed.
This time, the prop-Bibi, pro-Israel people were no longer complacent. and so they came out in massive numbers, and crushed the other side.
Now, it certainly helped that Meretz (kooky Left) came in under the 3.25% cutoff, and so doesn't get any seats. But the reason why they came in so low was because a lot more Bibi supporters came out to vote this time, which meant you needed more votes to pass the threshold.
In any event, they now have Bibi back in charge, to keep Israel from doing anything too stupid before Republicans regain control in the US

The Palestinian terrorists.
Which is to say every single Palestinian who supports terror attacks on Israel.
Which currently seems to be "pretty much all of them"
may be narciso can shed light on this
the collaborative relation between Israeli left/labor and Palestinian leadership is reminiscent of Robert Ludlum THE RHINEMANN EXCHANGE
Robert Cook asks: "The right-wing Jews in Israel are fearful of their personal safety? From who?"
I dunno. The world?
The political situation in Israel is very, very simple.
1) Netanyahu is absolutely, objectively right on the central issues.
2) Inevitably, there is public discontent with any government, that manifests as a desire for a change of leadership.
Thus we have a pattern of Netanyahu in power, discontent rising, someone else coming to power, the someone else demonstrating that Netanyahu was right all along, and a return to Netanyahu.
"The right-wing Jews in Israel are fearful of their personal safety? From who?"
Greg The Class Traitor: "The Palestinian terrorists."
Correction: The Arab terrorists.
Greg The Class Traitor: "Now, it certainly helped that Meretz (kooky Left) came in under the 3.25% cutoff, and so doesn't get any seats. But the reason why they came in so low was because a lot more Bibi supporters came out to vote this time, which meant you needed more votes to pass the threshold."
Moron Meretz party and Labor party leaders refused to join hands for the election which would have enabled more of the lost votes to hit the Labor column, a result which is quite astonishing really given that Meretz leader Gal-On had to know that a failure to meet threshold was a real possibility given the pre-election polling.

Here's a Serious Question: How is Oil rich Russia paying Oil rich Iran, for all those drones?
Can't be oil; Hmmm What ELSE do the russians have besides Oil that the Iranians would be interested in?
There Must be SOME THING that the russians would have, that the iranians have been trying to make on their own? What could THAT be? I See.. Be Am; something.. hmmm
Obama’ s old pal Bibi is back in power. Barack is going to have a bad case of Sadz for the next couple of days.LOL
COVID lockdowns were more extreme in Israel than just about anywhere else. My guess is that Bibi's win had at least something to do with a backlash against that. I am optiistic that we will see the same thing here next Tuesday.
My bet is that Russia will significantly upgrade Iran's air defenses. Of course they also might make Iran a nuclear power. They might just be pissed off enough.
Far right.
Not wanting Iran to turn Israel into a smoking crater.
Proposition A: Netanyahu is Israel's longest-serving leader, having already been Prime Minister for 15 years.
Proposition B: Re-electing him is an unprecedented lurch to the radical right.
But does Bibi send mean tweets? He can't be THAT bad unless mean tweets are somehow involved. I look forward to his first meeting with President DeSantis, where they announce peace deals with several more Arab countries.
Well, I guess the rulers of apartheid states do always have cause to fear they will one day lose their control.
Will Biden call Bibi to congratulate him?
