Justin Trudeau is in trouble for singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" 2 days before the Queen's funeral.

BBC reports: "Justin Trudeau's office has defended the Canadian PM, after he was filmed singing by a piano in a London hotel, two days before the Queen's funeral.... The Queen was Canada's head of state, and Mr Trudeau designated 19 September a national day of mourning in Canada.... Mr Trudeau can be seen in a T-shirt, leaning on a piano as Gregory Charles, a musician from Quebec and recipient of the Order of Canada, plays Bohemian Rhapsody.... 'Embarrassing doesn't even begin to cover it,' wrote Andrew Coyne, Globe and Mail columnist, on Twitter. 'He's the prime minister, in a public place, on the eve of the Queen's funeral. And this is how he behaves?'"

The desperate search for more Queen-is-dead stories rages on.

Trudeau is a douche bag. A tool.

Weird how a guy from the glee club is so thirsty for dictatorial power.

Oh. I think singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the least of his troubles. Canadians don't like Castro's bastard.

I'm no Trudeau fan, but I'm really tired of the conceit that we have look dour all the time if there's something bad in the news. Like it's a sin to include a little levity in your day when the world's not perfect.

Oh well, Justin is a teenager. A particularly nasty teenager, but nonetheless allowances must be made.

I don't find Trudeau's behavior surprising at all. He a liberal, globalist, dictator so he's not required to mourn on the day of national mourning he declared.

We all know this is a common liberal trait. They don't live by the rules they push on everyone else.

Gavin Newsome...Trudeau... same thing. Point is they WANT you to see them not following their own rules. They're telling you they are better than you. They're the pigs that moved into Farmer Jones' house and walk on two legs.

It's like John Kerry flying around on a private jet claiming he's saving the world from "climate change". They're all full of shit. Sad that 1/2 of Canada, and 1/2 of America can't see it.

Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me,....For meeeeeeeee!!!!

Trudeau is certainly a goofball, but I don't understand what the big deal is. The queen’s death maybe sad, if one even cares. It isn't tragic. Jocularity is a fine response.

I think he and Gavin Newsom are the same guy.

Few singers can bring the verve Freddy brought to that song with the super-dramatic vocalizing. Not a song for Karaoke or amateur night. Unless your prime minister has serious chops (uh Justin does not) then this kind of thing should be avoided. At least he wasn't in blackface. I have vowed never to comment on him without mentioning his liberal use of blackface in his off-off-off-Broadway career.

Trudeau should be in trouble for his efforts to turn Canada into a Soviet-style autocracy, and he is, which is why this stupid controversy was probably ginned up by Fidel Junior's Okhrana as a distraction from his ongoing assault on human rights in the Great White North.

While I'm not a fan of Trudeaux, he is certainly 'out of touch' of a lot of things. But who cares, and why care? Is he doing the things that need to be done.

But that's all the rage these days, isn't it? Find some faux-pas and punish them hard.

What if he sang The Smith's song "The Queen is Dead"?

I dislike PM Zoolander as much as anybody but this is nonsense. He has no personal connection to the Queen, and even his political connection is a bit tenuous since he's officially responsible to the Governor General of Canada as the Queen's representative, not the Queen herself.

There's plenty of better targets in his mismanagement of Canadian affairs in general rather than picking on what he does during his personal time.

Please read carefully and note that he was filmed singing *two days prior to the funeral* which he designated as the day of mourning, not on the day of the funeral.

I was just happy he wasn't wearing blackface.

I don't think the Queen's death is a time for somber mourning. It should be a celebration for a life well lived. The Brits could learn a few things from the Irish.

He's really givin' 'er. I bet he's a blast at karaoke parties. He should get together with the Finnish PM.

There are no words for a country that hired a former mediocre ballet teacher with a famous father to be their Prime Minister, got a dose of him, and then re-hired him. Canada is a failing country when it comes to individual liberty. I've long admired and even loved our Canadian neighbors. I've had many friends there over the years, done business there, loved visiting that beautiful country. But not since covid. And much has changed since Trudeau took over and especially once covid gave him an excuse to be the totalitarian he is.

Truth is, scratch any Lefty and there's a totalitarian just under the surface, dying to get out. Covid showed the way for a lot of them.

People write Trudeau off as goofball. They do the same with senile Biden. But these characters aren't just goofballs, they're dangerous fascist goofballs. Biden wants to put Trump in Jail, for having the gall to run against him. He cheered the shooting of Ashli Babbitt and the antifa riots.

Trudea meanwhile seized bankaccounts and trucks of those who dare to protest his lockdown. He declared a "national emergency" and arrested people, just because they dared to drive to Otttawa and protest.

Both Trudeau and biden are supplying weapons to Ukraine and killing people in a needless war. They will push Europe to bankruptcy the winter, all the while smirking and smiling and playing the friendly Goofball.

BTW, i don't really get the love for this song by Queen. It sounds like a lot of old fashioned songs that are much better.

It wasn't a good or a wise thing to do, but it's not very serious. When everyone has a camera on them, public figures do have to be circumspect.

19th century politicians were generally dour and austere, even though there was more privacy and a lot could be done in secret. There wasn't all the media and all the entertainment and all the ways to attract attention to oneself, so public figures were serious and restrained. Now everything around us encourages us to make spectacles of ourselves, but the ways one can get caught off guard or make a fool out of oneself are that much greater. Social media gives and takes.

With the Fidel-Trudeau rumors as with the Clinton-Hubble and all the Obama birth certificate, Obama gay, the Michelle Obama a man, the Bush family Nazis, and the Trump Putin's puppet rumors I have to wonder whether people actually believe the things they post on line or if it's all just a joke or insult.

Never mind. This is what you can expect under monarchy.

I wonder if king chuck will fire him? Probably not. Both have a lot in common. Both useless barnacles on the ship of life. Both inherited their positions. Both are assholes.

Lurker21,

The "Trudeau is Castro's Son" theory has a bit more plausibility behind it than all those other theories you listed (though I also believe the Hubble/Clinton one, too, based on Chelsea's looks as she has aged). Mrs. Trudeau does appear to have had the opportunity to cuck her husband with Fidel, and Justin looks nothing like either one of the parents on birth certificate, especially nothing like his "father".

"19th century politicians were generally dour and austere, even though there was more privacy and a lot could be done in secret"

Not just 19th century. 20th century. The old rule in DC, was "as long you keep it private, and it doesn't affect your job, its offlimits to the press". During WW ii, FDR violated that rule. An "isolationist" Senator, forgot what state, was found in a gay brothel during a police raid. Normally, it would've been hushed up, but FDR (using FBI info) leaked it to the press. THose Goddamn "isolationists" deserved to be destroyed, per FDR, norms and traditions be damned.

The Senator's friends then found out that Summner Welles, FDR undersecretary of state, and big buddy, had been asking Railroad Pullman Porters for Gay sex. Seems he liked Black men like he liked his coffee. Strong and black. The porters had had complained. Some senators decided to hold an investigation, and FDR got Welles to resign before it was held.

Of course, FDR being liberal, decided that "that was different" and cried about how horrible and awful it was to have hurt "poor summner". But anyway, that stuff was swept under the rug. usually. Even in the 40s.

Trudeau is beneficiary of the canadian parlimentary system. His Liberal party got 31 pecent of the vote. But he formed an alliance with the NDP, so he's PM. IRC, the Liberals/NDP got about 50 percent of the vote and that's good enough in the parlimentary system.

So now, he's basically a dictator.

Mary Beth said...

Lots of other people there, also singing. Does he have some special duty to be more mournful because he's the PM?
