The mystery continues ...

Who is the Real President, and why is the media keeping that person's name secret?

Once again, an unnamed individual has come forward to diametrically oppose what Joe Biden told us on 60 Minutes. Joe Biden says the pandemic is over. That there is no emergency. Yet today, CNN and CBS News purport to know the identity of the Real President - who tells us that no the pandemic is still on and that there will be no policy changes by the Federal Government.

Yet CNN and CBSNews refuse to divulge the name of the Real President who they claim came out and opposed what Joe Biden said on 60 Minutes.

When will the media tell us who the Real President is and quit hiding that individuals name from us?

CNN and CBSNews are telling us that Joe Biden isn't the president and has no impact on how the Federal Government will proceed - with Biden claiming the pandemic is over, but this other Secret President who they refuse to name saying that it's not over.

Who is the Real President? Why won't the media tell us? Don't we have a right to know who the Real President is. The Secret President? Don't we have the right to see if that person's name was actually on the ballot in 2020? Because I don't think that person's name was actually on the ballot, but of course, since CNN and CBS News won't tell us, how can we know sure?

Given the over-the-top sentences that J6 defendants are getting for "parading", I would say FORCING an arrested individual to "parade" would have to be several times a more serious crime than being the one who "paraded".

Would have to be at least 10 years in prison for each of those court officials.

You do get to some beautiful places. Michigan will be looking beautiful in a couple of weeks when the leaves kick in- unless they've already started. (it's hard to tell the time of year here in south Florida). Though I've visited family and friends in the Detroit area over the years, I have not been to northern Michigan in years. Per Paul Simon..."Michigan seems like a dream to me now." It was always a beautiful state.

"Nobody is threatening Russia" - Joe Biden

It's about six months too late for cheap talk, Joe. If we don't make any effort to understand what Russia might be thinking, we are just going to let Joe march us into WWIII. Joe's handlers know that we are threatening Russia. That's the whole point, we ratchet up the threats by increment, first the CIA coup in 2014, the more and more weapons, now we are planning to send in longer range missiles. It's like each provocation is so "small," why would anybody but a madman overreact? But the inevitable result of such a long-term incremental approach would be to eliminate Russia as a great power, and you know what? Russia can figure that out, the US is using the same strategy that China is using to gain control of Taiwan. There is only one counter to such a strategy, which is to draw a line in the sand before defeat is inevitable, and fight if it is crossed. Both sides know this.

If you think that Putin is just an unhinged dictator, you should be even more worried about our policies towards Russia.

Ann Althouse said...

The UP should be part of Wisconsin. Odd to think of it as Michigan, but to face reality, that’s what it is.

"Nobody is threatening Russia" - Joe Biden

Much as I hate to support Joe Biden, I think it's a defensible statement. If Russia withdrew back behind its borders, few would support following them. Ukraine might, but having done so I think they would lose the bulk of their support.

This IS doing, Tim in Vermont. It is called face-saving. Putin gets away with whatever he grabbed, he hopes. Blames everything on the West and rattles his saber. Xi maneuvers as they doubtless worked out recently.

It may not fly in Ukraine or on Pennsylvania Avenue. But the effort to get out with something and save face seems obvious, IMO.

Curious George said...

It's not because of Ohio. Ohio beat Michigan in the battle of Toledo. Ohio got that territory and a deep water port...and Michigan got to be a state and also got the UP.

At one point many in northern Wisconsin wanted to break off and form a new state called Superior.

SJ said...

@Ann, Let me say, as a resident of Michigan, welcome to the wonderful State of Michigan!

>> The UP should be part of Wisconsin. Odd to think of it as Michigan, but to face reality, that’s what it is.

Back when I took State History class, there was a short discussion about a border dispute between Ohio and Michigan. The dispute was jokingly called The Toledo War; it arose from surveying-and-mapping errors. The disputed land included a portion of the Maumee River (at the north edge of Toledo) that showed promise of becoming a profitable port. It is a deep river at the edge of a major city, and offered good access to Lake Erie.

At the resolution of the dispute, Ohio got to keep the disputed section of Toledo. And a large section of the Wisconsin Territory was given to Michigan Territory as a consolation prize.

It looks like Ohio and Michigan got into a fight, and Wisconsin lost.

Lots of Ann Arbor in my story, and I don’t think I would have moved to Madison if I hadn’t learned to love Ann Arbor. Haven’t been back there in decades. Wonder if I would recognize anything about it. I do think Madison is a lot prettier.

As a point of UP trivia, UP copper deposits were primarily native copper and did not need smelting, only lower temperature refining and melting. The copper contained 2-5% silver in the ingot. From the 1920's on this was found to be perfect for car radiator fins because it improved the thermal coefficient and made the copper fins less brittle so they were vibration resistant.

So, a Michigan raw material perfect for a Michigan manufactured product. This story was told to me by my Grandfather, who was an industrial blacksmith.

The White Pine copper mine in Ontonagon County was an underground operation mining the Copper Harbor Conglomerate and was huge, it started up around 1880. It was shut down a decade or two ago but Highland is talking about opening it up now that prices are higher.

What they grabbed is what they said they wanted in the first place, at least if you read Putin’s speeches directly, claiming that Russia wanted to capture all of the Ukraine is US propaganda.

You guys should read some history about how wars are actually started, one way would be to launch an offensive against Dunbas, which refused to accept the 2014 CIA coup as its legitimate government, while 150K Russian soldiers are on the border. Bingo! You got the war you wanted and stuck the other side with the odium of crossing a border first

Why would the good ole USA want such a war? It’s a neocon dream that the US be the sole superpower and that no potential rivals be allowed to arise. Russia is the last European power not neutered by the US. This war was easily avoided by codifying a non aligned status for the Ukraine. Seems like a small price now, but that was Putin’s original ask.

Once you see the neocons for what they are, you can’t unsee it.

tim in vermont said...

BTW, it doesn’t matter whether you believe it, or if I believe it, it’s what the Russians believe, and it goes way beyond Putin.

They're asking the same thing over at Instapundit: Why do we even bother to interview Joe Biden? Why don't we just interview the second, unnamed "official" who is going to tell us what the Real Policy is?

Every time the alleged President says something ... such as "Covid is over" or "We would help Taiwan" some unnamed person who is the Real President hurries out to the media and announces what our Real Policy is.

Why even have a President? It's a waste of $400,000 a year.

Joe Biden is clearly NOT the President. He is NOT setting US policy and he does NOT speak for the United States of America.

The "unnamed official" is the Real President. Why won't the media tell us their name? Why is the media HIDING this information?

"At roughly 60,000 acres, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is Michigan’s largest state park and one of the few remaining large wilderness areas in the Midwest. It's home to a 35,000-acre old-growth forest, roaring waterfalls, miles of rivers and streams, more than 90 miles of hiking trails, a modern and rustic campground, backcountry camping, the Lake Superior shoreline and unrivaled vistas."

Since Trump lowered the requirement for logging and mining the residents experienced a brief moment of prosperity. Not any more. Occasionally you can still find small pieces of native copper in stream beds. But I'm here to tell you trout fishing is lousy up there so don't even try.

Notice every time it blows up in his face he doesn't even have the stones to admit he was wrong, he just goes digging through the next pile of Ruskie bull shit and starts the process over again, blaming the CIA, the "Deep State," the Ukrainian "Nazis", and the US in general. I guess the best thing that could be said about him is he's consistent - consistently pro Putin and anti American and delusional.
