Over on a different thread the subject of Peter Navarro in leg shackles came up.

Field Marshall Freder needs to see photos to believe it happened. Do you think the FBI would allow photos ?

As a fan of Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, I've become enamored with the Mike Ehrmantraut style of addressing problems and mistakes. I now apply it to my daily life.

"I opened my inbox, the emails were unanswered. That's all I know."
"I looked at the document, it was redlined. That's all I know."
"I received the bill, it was unpaid. That's all I know."
"I went to the kitchen, the dishes were dirty. That's all I know."

Stopped at our Farmer’s Market today and scored some wonderful German pink tomatoes. There isn’t a much better summer meal than a tomato sandwich. Ain’t life grand?

After contending with the day’s disputes, it’s such a nice reminder that the Order of Creation, its wonder, beauty and perennial appearance, needs none of our intervention. ‘Night, John-boy.

I don't see how the Dems can do well in the mid-terms unless they count the votes again the same way. So probably they will. But this time people will have an idea of what might be happening and they'll jump on it quickly instead of being confused. And then, and this is my point, then 45 will have a recent event in which he was not involved to point to. And this in turn will affect various polls and projections.

Talk about wildflowers. They're wild. They're flowers. They're colorful. They're native. They're nectar pots. They're lovely, yes. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes. They line the lake-side path. They're photogenic.

I don't want to jinx myself, but here was the prediction:

https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/noaa-predicts-above-normal-2022-atlantic-hurricane-season

Two months in and we have a total of three named tropical storms. Alex was a motherfucker, it rained all goddamned day and I pumped some water out of the pool just to be safe. Bonnie and Colin caused some rain elsewhere.

I sure hope that the Green New Deal gets this madness under control and soon. Thank you Joe Manchin.

Josh Hawley is writing a book on masculinity. “Manhood: The Masculine Virtues Americans Need,” which is scheduled to publish next May. The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry and the book ain't writ yet.

The book’s announcement comes after Hawley was mocked by the US House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, which showed a video of our famous fist-pumper egging Trump's Army onward before the violent coup attempt had him running for his life out of the Senate chamber as lawmakers, reporters, and staff were being evacuated.

Hawley then returned to the Capitol to make some useless votes against the Congressional Joint Session's ceremonial vote certification in just a few states in which he was ordered to cast a "No" vote.

The congressional baseball game was held last night. The R's smoked the Commie-Pinkos 10-0. It was reported the Lefties tried to draft noted star player Fidel Castro for the game, only to find out he's dead, along with their ideology. The highlight of the game was Rep Linda Sanchez (D-Armoured Personnel Carrier) flipping the bird to the R dugout.

Why is a congressional committee indulging in mockery like that? It doesn't make them feel trustworthy? And look at all the unsupported language you are using. It's propaganda-style to say "running for his life." A man is running. Why is that "running for his life"? The "video" shows a *still shot* of Hawley with a raised fist. That doesn't prove even that he was pumping the fist let along "egging" on the crowd. And even if he were egging on the crowd, what would prove that the end he sought was a "violent coup"? You are just hurling words with no attention to whether what you are saying is true. I don't fall for that. I become more resistant to what you're trying to prove. If you had real evidence, perhaps you would use it. Or maybe you just don't know what evidence is and don't have an idea of how to prove something.

But I will listen if you take this seriously and attempt to prove that you are not a propagandist.

It's all they have. They suck at everything else. Trump was right about them all being corrupt, and now the cover up is all about lying, and pushing narratives. If we, as a people, are dumb enough to let them continue to con us, it is ON US. Listen to the Propaganda and become their slave....or vote them all out, and start over. We have no choice.

"Hanover, a city in the northwest of Germany, has become the first major metropolitan area to try and reduce the use of natural gas by removing hot water from public buildings." (From CTH)

The previous administration, that would be President Trump, warned Angela Meckel the folly of relying Russian natural gas.

That was exactly my reaction. What case are they trying to make here? Pure politics no credibility.

No. They're really good at counting votes that don't exist.

There are protests in Argentina over the 'right' to universal basic income.

Argentine protesters demand universal living wage

"Protesters congregated outside the presidential palace, where centre-left President Alberto Fernández was meeting his economy minister Silvina Batakis, who is opposed to such an idea, as rumours abound that a cabinet reshuffle is in the works.

"Poverty has taken control of the country," Monica Sulle, a leader of the Socialist Workers' Movement (MST), told AFP.

Argentina is gripped by an economic crisis marked by soaring inflation and rapid currency devaluation.
"

In 2009 when I was traveling with my Dad in South America, $1 equaled about $3 in Argentina Pesos. Now, $1 gets you $113 Pesos. Isn't there an adage about spending other people's money?

In the Ukraine war, the Ukrainians have launched a counter-offensive in the Kherson region north of the Crimea which might trap Russian forces on the north side of the Dnipro River. The Dnipro turns west when it gets close to the Black Sea coast and flows west for miles until, near its wide estuary, it passes Kherson City. Kherson City is on the north bank of the west-flowing Dnipro which means that the Russian soldiers coming from the Crimea in the south crossed the Dnipro River on its bridges to seize Kherson City and its surrounding territory, Now the HIMARS system has been used to weaken the Dnipro bridges so that they cannot carry heavy military equipment. Meanwhile, the Ukrainians are coming down from the north trying to trap the Russians north of the Dnipro against the river, its estuary and a long reservoir which is part of the Dnipro. There doesn't seem to be a way out nor a way to resupply the Russian soldiers. We'll see how the Russians and the Ukrainians use this.

Facing this difficulty and others, the Russians, who have lost 75,000 killed and wounded in the Ukraine, are trying to get new soldiers, requiring 400 to 1000 volunteers from each of its 85 regions. These recruits get huge signing bonuses. They get one month of training and are then sent to fight in the Ukraine. I would not like to see anyone I loved in one of these brigades - the word cannon fodder comes to mind or Putin's Paper Soldiers. But young men from the tribal regions are poor, they are promised high pay and training, and they sign up. They get funeral expenses as part of the deal. Sugar Crush.

My brother apparently believes the January 6th committee. He gets his news from the Times and the Post and believes what he reads. I didn't want to engage with him. There's already enough bad blood between us.
