Harris was selected by Biden’s team on purpose. Biden was the safe and dopey pick for Obama. Biden made Obama look great. Biden needed a Black woman that made him look smart.

I mean these as real questions. The most mystifying thing about this administration is the inability to course correct. Every poll and every policy has been a disaster yet everything remains the same. No heads roll. No one improves at their job. It all stays the same.
Are they really so self absorbed that they do not see the incompetence that they demonstrate?
Reading the above statement from Kamala inspired me to do a google search on words of wisdom from Chauncey Gardiner.
So police showed up at his home once and took a sword from him with which he hS threatened to kill his family, and he still passed a background check...
It seems like there are a lot of things that could be done within the framework of existing laws. Maybe juvinile stuff should never get expunged, or not until the person reaches 27, or something.
Black people kill black people every day in Chicago and nobody cares. A white person kills white people and the Veep hops on a plane and even White House gets involved.

Ms. Harris could get away with that word salad when running for office in California, but on a national stage people actually pay attention to what she says. She comes up lacking, profoundly so.
I’m calling the unspecified use of the word “access” a gaffe.

Shooter was known to law enforcement, had a history of mental stability including suicide, but still was licensed to purchase firearms in Illinois because such laws are meant to harass law abiding gun owners. The county attorney has called for an assault weapon’s ban despite the fact Highland Park already has a ban on the books.

So the first black VP comes to Chicago to talk about the shooting of a bunch of white people by a white, mentally I’ll kid, and talks about assault weapons bans.
But she didn’t come to Chicago on any given Monday and talk about the dozens of black kids killed in gun violence in that city on any given weekend, with predominantly illegal and unregistered handguns
“We have to do more”. I guess when you never do anything (about anything) that statement will always be true…
Where was the Veep after the uncountable weekends of gun violence in Chicago? But a white guy shoots white people and she's on the scene in moments. Straight up racism.

Yeesh. Nothing says 'salad' like listening to Kamala Harris speak. Clearly a person who has spent her entire life in either a classroom or working in a governmental position. No one else on earth speaks like these people who have seen nothing else. Their lips move, but what comes out is akin to styrofoam peanuts.
I will add in that I don't think she's a very bright person. And I'm feeling good today so note that this is the kinder, gentler version of what I would be inclined to say here.

Young men are in crisis in this country. Opioids, fatherlessness, unfinished education, suicide, criminality….they are leading in all the wrong metrics. And unless you’re a young man who’s black, the culture demonizes you as the locus of empowered privilege. These grandiose acts of violence ought to set off a five alarm fire. But then, it’s been going off since columbine. Perhaps the difficulty Democrats have in defining women is because they no longer want to be known as having made Kamala Harris the first woman Vice President. With roughly 50% of the population to choose from, they could have done much better.

I do understand that background checks will fail from time to time. There are people who seem perfectly normal with no red flags that do horrible things. No system is foolproof. But, seriously, if this person did not immediately trigger alarms in the system, you have to wonder what's the point of the system. Are they just there to cash paychecks? Because persons aspiring to easy, well paying jobs that require no work is a sign of massive corruption and a nation in decline.

Illinois already has a "Red Flag" law, this question was never asked. How it is that Highland Park, which banned these weapons over a decade ago, was the scene of this assault given said "protection"

This is OT, but I have been wondering about it without actually doing the research to try to confirm it: does it look to anyone else as if the shooter may suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome? His face seems to me to have some of the markers - very wide-set eyes with maybe some epicanthic fold, flat nose bridge, thin upper lip. The mustache makes it hard to determine philtrum depth. I don't really understand how to judge microcephaly out of the context of other people's heads.
It doesn't matter. He has a history of instability and mental illness, whatever the cause. But it was the first thing I thought when I saw the image that looks like a mugshot.

The secret is that the people responsible for those failed policies that create those horrible consequences that generate those terrible polls will never be held accountable for the damage they are doing. History will dump it all on Grampa Simpson. They get to play with policy like some 3 year old in a playpen with toys, knowing that when the administration crashes and burns they will be able to get jobs at Washington think tanks and cable news networks. That's the problem with having a chief executive as out of it as Biden.
