"It’s been a long process... Then the Roe thing happened. That cemented it. That was the stars aligning. This needs to be done."

"To be really honest... I’m a straight, white dude in America. Typically, I’m the least worried about these things. But they might come for that one. So I was like, 'I’m just gonna get this done while I still can.'"

Said Iain Little, "a 40-year-old banker living in Philadelphia," quoted in "Snipped in solidarity: the American men getting vasectomies after Roe – while they can/Following the supreme court’s abortion decision, urologists say more men are taking charge of their reproductive health, to permanent ends" (The Guardian).

People are seriously worried that vasectomies are going to become illegal?
Little had always been fairly certain that children weren’t part of his life plan. For years, his wife agreed. Now, recently divorced and dipping his toe back into the dating pool, he felt it was an appropriate time to seriously consider a vasectomy.

His toe, indeed.

A GP friend of mine once got sued because a fellow (his barber) that he had done a vasectomy on, got his wife pregnant. Now, it turned out the guy never returned for a sperm count post op. That was one of many reasons I did not do vasectomies. Anyway, I suggested that the GP offer to adopt the kid and see what happened.

Many, many more progressives must be subscribed to Hulu than I imagined. They watch "Handmaid's Tale" and think it's happening out here. We had this discussion the other day with women getting their tubes tied. Do you know who's not getting vasectomies or tubes tied? Conservatives. Immigrants. Indians. South Americans. Traditional religious people such as Muslims, Orthodox Jews, Catholics, Eastern Orthodox Christians. (as opposed to secularly religious like progressives).

I got married at 22. Yes family was in my plans....as a conceptional notion. My bride, on the other hand. Had a blue print, and check list requiring deliverables. I was OK talking about it, but I thought I could talk about the concept for for years. Thankfully I acceded and started a family 18 months later. In hindsight, my problem was nothing but raw selfishness. I refused to sacrifice my freedom, and money, to become a dad with real responsibilities.

I thank God regularly for my wife's persistence.

It makes sense for a man to get a vasectomy if he's sure he doesn't want children, and if his wife can no longer get an easy abortion. He needs a vasectomy now, because she might become pregnant, now.

So for decades feminists have been trying to get men to take responsibility for birth control and "family planning". Now a ruling that has enraged feminists seems to have helped move the needle in the direction they have wanted all along.

Who knew that men would be so selfish as to leave the vast majority of the responsibility, guilt, shame, and medical risk to women rather than take some of that on themselves? Certainly no one could have ever predicted that type of behavior....

Men's role in evolution is to spread their seed far and wide. That has not changed, and Western male behavior is reverting toward the historical norm as feminism destroys the social strictures that worked to dampen this behavior.

That it'd turn into a cultural phenomena is disturbing. But if someone's snipping themselves because of it? Well, that's not going to work well for them in the long run. And the long run isn't anything that the progs are concerned with.

Or not, if the indoctrination machine known as public education has its way. From pre-K through post doc, leftists control education across the country and use it to push their agendas. Having and raising kids is expensive, time consuming, and hard work. It's easier to convert your kids than to go to the bother of having kids of their own.

Your link is to The Guardian (not the NY Post) ... a really trashy "fake news" site in the UK. So to answer your question, no men aren't getting snipped out of fear it will soon become illegal.

The Guardian is just doing what all media are currently doing (successfully, I might add). They're getting mostly old people worked up with fake news for clicks to earn advertising revenue. You fell for click bait.

You are their product, which they sell. You are not consuming their news. They are consuming, and monetizing, your time. And thus your life. They're making money wasting your life.

Absolutely. I am not at all surprised this banker fears vasectomies will be illegal. Women on Reddit have been posting fears that women will be barred from crossing state lines, will not be able to attend college, will lose the vote - and I even came across one rant that went off the rails completely with the belief women will be rounded up and placed on breeding farms.

I have believed for some time our species is getting dumber, that the average IQ is getting lower. Between all the sterilizations and hysterical women opting out of the dating game, our average IQ will rise.
