Putin "obviously isn't" a woman? Do we still talk like that? Come on, Boris, your effort to sound up to date is at least 5 years out of date.

Do we know whether Putin identifies as a woman?

Such pathetic pandering. No one believes that trope anymore.

Do better, Boris.

If Trump was still President, Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine either.

If things were different, they wouldn't be the same.

Toxic humanity. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

COVID showed us all the there are some crazy ass female tyrants out there. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern from New Zealand for example. Or how about the all night partying Sanna Marin from Finland who wants to join NATO and poke the bear in the eye? Seems like she'd like to be invaded by Putin.

And then there was every pro-lockdown mask enforcing female liberal Karens scattered throughout the United States. Men are dogs. Women are cats. The notion that women are more peace loving than men is ridiculous. Generation X women have sold their own sons up the river.

Boris Johnson is such a clown. "We need more women in power", well why don't you resign then buddy-boy?

Its astounding how people trashed Trump who kept us out of war, but support Johnson/Trudeau/Biden. Those three have spoken about this tragic war, (that's cost thousands of Ukrainian lives), in an adolescent, callous, and moronic manner. Putin may be Russia's leader, but almost of all of Russia is supporting this war because it is in Russian interests. You have serious issues of national interest involved and yapping about "Toxic Masculinity" is either deliberate misdirection, or willful stupidity.

Why, seize Right Bank Ukraine, of course! Along with Crimea, Belarus, Lithuania, and a bunch of other territories, while raising 4 or 5 kids! I think even Judge Jackson would agree she was 100% woman!

Has anyone made a serious study of female rulers in history and their relative propensity to go to war vs. male rulers? My impression is that it isn't much different or that they might be slightly more likely to go to war (perhaps to shore up their position, weakened on account of their sex), but the denominator is so different that my intuition isn't much use. And there are grey areas. E.g. Zenobia of Palmyra is both the only female monarch I can think of who took up arms against the Roman Emperor, and also the only female monarch I can think of from that era. And she wouldn't have been a sovereign if she hadn't rebelled against the Roman power. When Eleanor of Aquitaine went to war with her husband Henry II, does she count as a female sovereign or not. Probably yes, on account of her independent titles in France, but there's a lot of mischief to be done to produce a desired result, through these sorts of definitional quibbles.

I’m sorry, but Boris Johnson is not a biologist and I don’t think he has the educational requirements to define a woman.

Did he imply women make lousy warriors?

Sounds to me like using Putin as leverage to praise women is a rhetorical blunder. Not something that would casually occur to the prime minister of Great Britain, the seat of the world’s premier language.

There must me some women out there that find this kind of back-handed dumbass pandering tiresome. I know Karen and Black chicks dig it, but how hard is it to recognize it as condescending?

So we just need to get Putin to self-identify as a woman, and everything will be fine! Could we just clobber all their TV/radio/internet frequencies with various drag queen events?

Exactly. The people who installed Biden can afford a 25% drop in the stock market but this is not over yet.

War is a huge money-maker.

People weren't getting as rich under Trump.

Hard to launder billions if not via a war zone...

Perhaps the first great British military hero was a woman.

Long before Arthur, long before the Lionheart and young King Hal, there was Boudica, Queen of the Icini. She was a woman, and she killed more Romans than Cecil B DeMille.

You can nit pick his verbage, but can you say he is wrong? We might not talk like that anymore but does that make the premise false?

Only the feminazis and "woke" will overlook that Boris excludes himself as a man.

Or maybe he "identifies" as a woman.

Ya think....?

@Balfegor:
You mentioned Zenobia of Palmyra and waging war against the Roman Emperor – the only other equivalent I could come up with was Boudicca, but I don’t know if she could have been called a monarch in the proper sense, given the clan structure of the British native tribes.

Eleanor of Aquitaine was designated as Regent while her son Richard was off crusading in the Holy Land – mainly to prevent her youngest son John from usurping the throne in his brother’s absence. It was something he probably resented deeply. She ended up having to negotiate Richard’s ransom and release after he was captured and held, likely due to no small amount of treachery by John.

I forget, when does Putin take over all of Ukraine? With the snap of his fingers? Was it three months ago on your calendar?

This war is as popular in Russia as Vietnam was here. When Putin dies naturally or unnaturally, there will be a change of course.

Maria Teresa of Austria and H.I.M. Victoria oversaw their share of bloodshed, just in the last few centuries. Neither was actually a warrior queen though. The former at least was less aggressive than Victoria or her great contemporary Catherine.

Female leaders mean peace is as dumb as the trope that democracies don't go to war against each other. Germany in 1914 had a broader suffrage than England or France.

Yancey Ward - "COVID has turned Boris Johnson into a blithering idiot." Sadly, correct. The Boris I knew as a priapic journalist in Brussels in the early 1990s, brimming with self-confident ambition, would have delighted in taking the piss out of such a ludicrous statement.

He's free to delegate all his power and influence to a woman if he wants to, although some would say that he is in his present predicament precisely because he has - to Carrie, a wife who somehow rose without trace to become Britain's Eleanor Roosevelt.

If Putin sees this, he'll just laugh and fire off a few more missiles.

Poor Boris should have been retired for his lockdown-violating, COVID-era parties at 10 Downing Street. If the opposition can't hit such a slow pitch presented right down the middle, what hope is there for ever ridding the UK of such leadership as Boris?

Lurker21 said...

If Boris were a woman, he wouldn't be such a slob.

Or if he were a woman who took so little care of her appearance as he does, he certainly wouldn't have risen as high as he has.

Sexism?
