Let me get this straight. In the UK, if you tweet something questioning the bona fides of purported transgender people, the police come to your house and arrest you. But if you tweet death threats against JK Rowling, crickets. Do I have that right?

It's cringe for sure. It's fascinating how they express such palpable fear for their lives yet the biggest danger they face is themselves.
We older folks, the old school, have long held the importance of hearing out those who have different opinions controlling the rising bilious anger with a strong gag reflex control.
The new school works on CLICKS. Neither content (when approved) nor substance has importance. What matters is how many CLICKS a rant receives.
Each view of such a person results in a CLICK.
The same issue exists with respect to voting: Does my vote count? Does my CLICK count? Yes, it does.

I’m guessing there is a ‘hateful speech loophole’, if you will, that says if you sing it, it’s art… or something. This is mildly hateful. Mildly hateful doesn’t rise to the level of truly hateful speech. Just going by my instinct here. Doesn’t mean agreement on my part.

For instance. I’ve seen (too many times to be happenstance) spilled white paint on freshly built and paint stripped pavement, in both, NJ and Georgia. So, after discarding a theory about how the workers celebrate by spilling paint as though striking a new ship with a bottle of champagne; I thought it might have something to do with a regulation that says leftover paint cannot/shall not be discarded to any sewer system, nor any ground, because the paint is toxic. So, given that it is used to paint the road, any leftover can be safely discarded... on the road. Wich is how Jack Kerouac came up with the title for his book 'On the Road'. Not 😜
