People keep making arguments in the form of “Suppose Trump had done/said X”, or “Imagine if Obama had done X”, or “Boy, think about what would have happened if Y had been done by a black (or white) person.” And those arguments never convince anyone. Perhaps such arguments are are relics of less polarized times.
Almost two years ago, I received a shampoo bottle size of hand sanitizer from the ride share people. I put it in a convenient cup holder accessible to passengers along with a pack of wipes. Today somebody walked off with the bottle. It was hardly used. I figure someone must've need it very badly. At least this way it may get used before the use-by-date ends. If it hasn't already.
I recently found a group on Facebook for the unit in Augsburg, Germany, which was my first duty assignment in the Army as a lowly Private. Among the people in the group are my First Sergeant and my Platoon Sergeant from that time (who ended up making Command Sergeant Major later on). I've worked for the USPS for the past 31 years, and it made me think about the difference in culture between the two organizations.
In the USPS, at least in my facility, we are all on a first-name basis, from my fellow clerks on the workroom floor to the Plant Manager. It's not that we don't know and respect who the bosses are, of course, but in terms of dealing with people on a daily basis, the titles don't come into play. In contrast, I would find it weird, even after forty years, to refer to the people in my old chain of command by their first names. Calling the old First Sergeant "Top" is probably as informal as I could get.
In the military, ranks and the forms of address that go with them are terms of respect. In my civilian postal job, there aren't really any ranks, just the division between supervisory personnel and employees. There is seniority, of course, and the level of experience and expertise that come with all of that time on the job. I've worked in two very different workplace cultures, and it's only something like this which made me think about it.
So, since I could not afford to buy Twitter, I. bought a bird feeder that is motorized and if it detects a squirrel, it will spin and give the little rodent (2nd mention) the old heave-ho. It wasn't an hour before it was discovered and tested, but the squirrel got the last laugh, as the action of throwing it off scattered some seed on the ground (sin of Onan?) Anyway, I am guessing that they will figure this part off and figure it's worth it to be thrown off to get the meal. The first one did not come back for seconds.
Yeah, that's really not the best comparison, now is it? I mean, given 2020 was during a PANDEMIC! No, the worst shrinkage since 2009 (a.k.a. The Great Recession) would be a more apt comparison, now wouldn't it?
Somewhere, Milton Friedman is laughing his ass off.
I always found the concept of Lend Lease to be uproariously funny. 'We'll lend you this tank. And when you're done with it, you can just give it back to us'.
Tim in Vermont. If you want to beat squirls while feeding birds, which is rasisis agin dark squirl bodys, I offer, then: Hang the prize from a tree with a preferably plastic coated 1/8" wire rope. And then purchase a cone available from Farm and Fleet that you can bolt onto the wire. The squirels will slide down and hit the cone and fall off.
if you have chipmunks, fill a 5 gal pail with water and cover the top with quaker oats. Set it at ground level and all the chipmunks will go for the oats, floaters.
headline: "ACLU lawyer testified that Amber Heard's op-ed on domestic violence was timed with the release of 'Aquaman'"
Yes, video of the house lawyer for the ACLU's deposition was played in court today. ACLU was going to use her as their spokesperson for domestic violence issues and helped her place the ad with WaPo.
Georgia had an incredible defensive team this year. You have to wonder which players were coasting on the skills of others.
If I recall correctly, the Pack drafted Devonte Wyatt (DT) and Quay Walker (LB) out of UGA. I suspect that both will be good but not great pros. If they have relatively long careers, they will be great picks.

There's a site called Oryxs which claims to document Russian equipment losses, e.g. Tanks (584, of which destroyed: 304, damaged: 15, abandoned: 49, captured: 216) Armoured Fighting Vehicles (321, of which destroyed: 152, damaged: 1, abandoned: 36, captured: 132) Infantry Fighting Vehicles (621, of which destroyed: 364, damaged: 6, abandoned: 44, captured: 207) The total is said to be: 3251 pieces of equipment, of which: destroyed: 1734, damaged: 56, abandoned: 262, captured: 1197 This is said to be 25% of the total amount of equipment committed to the first round of fighting. (For comparison the Union lost 25% of the Army of the Potomac, killed, wounded and missing, at Gettysburg.)
This may be what our weapons have been doing. Of course, I don't know how good the site, Oryxs, really is. I've often wondered how to evaluate this site or who knows anything about it. It says it accepts no loss for its tally without a picture. https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html
Student midwives at Napier University [Edinborough, Scotland] taught that men can get pregnant
Online module had guide to catheterising ‘birthing people’ with penises
'...In an email about the updated module, students were told: “This update was made to take account of the fact that while most times the birthing person will have female genitalia, you may be caring for a pregnant or birthing person while is transitioning from male to female and may still have external male genitalia.
“You need to be familiar with the catheterisation procedure for both the female and male anatomy. For this reason, where appropriate, this book refers to the person or birthing person.”'
With the announcement of the creation of the Ministry of Truth, it's been reported several prominent names have leapt at the opportunity and tossed their hats into the ring for the top position. Jeff Zuckerdork, Mr. Potato Head Stelter, Rather Dan the newsman, Brian Williams, Jeffery "hold my ..ah ... beer" Toobin, Candy "Mama Cass" Crowley, and Tony "what pandemic?" Faucie to name a few. Chris Wallace has also been seen sneaking in the back door of White House.
Ministry of Truth funding in that 33 billion, I guess it’s worth it to gut the first amendment if it is to defend Biden’s Nazi paymasters. They are talking about tools that intercept messages on the network level if they are deemed to contain information that the political party in power declares false. It’s a Ukrainian running it, BTW.
At this point, I am starting to really miss Obama almost as much as Trump, he could keep the nut jobs on the left reined in.
Re Squirrels, this contraption seems to work and has great entertainment value. You have to recharge it every few months. The chipmunks don’t bother me, but I don’t grow stuff in my garden that they eat. There is a pair of bunnies though that I may end up fricasseeing if they aren’t careful.

Lend Lease is a thing again.
Good.
You forgot to take the orange lense filter off! It looks so cold, must be global warming!
I had another sign today that covid is not over.

UGA’s 4th best linebacker this season is the #1 choice in the NFL Draft. Wait until they see the first three in action.

What the hell is a "Mock Draft"? Seems like a completely useless exercise.

The global weapons black market certainly agrees with Bender.
I suspect this isnt your grandfathers "Lend Lease".
