"When every vote is counted — and every vote will be counted — we hope to have a celebration."

New Jersey Governor Murphy can't lean too hard into challenging the results of the election. Expressing skepticism about the announced result is dangerously similar to Donald Trump. It will be interesting to see how mild-mannered Democrats will be in the face of a slim victory for the other side in an election that you and your supporters believe you were supposed to win. I don't want to see any hypocrisy!

"We want every vote counted" is code for "we have to keep looking for more votes...we have found them before."

I'd say that Murphy is in the zone of theft, so there is no way that he doesn't come out with more "votes"...he is a Democrat in New Jersey, for heaven's sake. He'll never have to say that the election was not legitimate.

We have a saying in Chicago: "Don't make no waves. Don't back no losers." Murphy will never be a loser...when all the votes are counted.

They don't a "double standard", they have a Single Standard

that Single Standard is:

As of this morning the Democrat had moved into the lead with 92 percent of the vote counted; the chances the remaining absentee votes will swing Republican are slim to none.

In other news, Minneapolitans decided not to get rid of their police department, but they did vote for rent control.

Per economist Assar Lindbeck, “In many cases rent control appears to be the most efficient technique presently known to destroy a city — except for bombing.”

Minneapolis tried bombing last year, and the results came up short. Now they'll try the Lindbeck solution.

Virginia is one of the only honest states, you typically need voter ID (drivers license), you "can" bring in a utility bill, but you also need back-up.

Its very difficult to harvest votes. Anyone south of the DC area saw Youngkin signs outnumber McCaullife 5-1. Factor that with the worst gaffe in my life when McCauliffe said parents shouldn't be in the classroom and even DC idiots couldn't win.

But yes, the 2020 election was stolen in a few cities unless you're dumb enough to believe a drooling idiot like Biden actually got more votes than Obama.

Don't worry. The race is within 4 digits.

You can easily find that many ballots in the trunk of a car.

A transparent election, with paper ballots, photo ID, and purple thumbs and democrats lose NJ probably by double digits.

Much less Virginia.

Corruption, Open borders, higher taxes, stagflation, closed schools and vaccine mandates are about as popular as COVID with real voters.

They are all very popular with the mail in voter block though.

As I was watching election explainers last night on multiple networks, and listening to them tell us that same day in person voters tended to favor Republicans, while mail-in ballots ran heavily Democratic, I had to ask myself again: What is it about showing up to vote in person that is so difficult for Democrat voters? Why can they not do this?

Are they just so disinterested in voting or the process? They throw out the word "Democracy" with such reverence so often, one would think they'd like to actually participate in it. But it seems as though its an inconvenience to them. Are they too busy creating TikTok videos, or playing video games? Are they buried deeply in the latest edition of The Atlantic to leave home and mingle among the unwashed?

One wonders why this entire mail-in ballot thing has gone from helping disabled or away-from-home business and military people vote, to state wide, and possibly nation wide mass ballot mailings sent out to every name on a voter roll, no matter how expired that name is. What is this? And one can see why ballot harvesting is such a key to this. I mean, if someone doesn't care enough about voting to show up in person, what makes you think they'll bother to fill out a mass junk mailer? Well...ballot harvesting guarantees their ballot gets filled out. By someone.

New Jersey should not have been close. That it is says loud and clear what's being rejected here. But mark my words: Democrats still don't get it. I've listened to their appointed talking heads on corporate media. They still don't get it.

And remember this: the 2020 election was the first shot of the red wave coming at them. Republicans gained numerous down ballot seats- both nationally and in key states. 2020 was just the beginning. Democrats did not learn and still don't realize how close it was and hence, are trying to push through an insulting array of socialist garbage while they can.

Their end is near. A year off.

PS- Also in New Jersey, Edward Durr, a truck driver who spent $150 on his campaign and had only a Facebook page looks to have defeated long time Dem and President of the New Jersey Senate, Stephen Sweeney. You have not seen the carnage yet. You will next year.

The problem with McAullife "Finding" i.e. manufacturing votes is that the ballots cast on election day have been counted. He lost. The mail in votes that were in were also counted, and he still lost.

And Virginia requires people to request absentee or mail in ballots, so they actually know how many votes out there are yet to be counted, and the number of outstanding ballots is less than the margin of victory Youngkin has right now. So even if McAullife runs the table, he won't make up the dfference.

And trying to manufacture more votes will be obvious vote fraud. They would be invalid, and it appears that Youngkin had his attorneys on the ball last night to prevent lots of shenanigans so I doubt he'd let this one fly.

So I think that McAuliffe is well and truly hosed.

Murphy, of course, will cheat to win. But he was supposed to walk away with a 10-30 point victory, and now he has to "find" more votes in order to win. Pretty overwhelming rebuke in my opinion.

Now would be a very good time to remind all readers that it was just a few months ago in May of 2021 that Paul Ryan actually stood at the Reagan Library and delivered his "Republican Surrender Speech" where Ryan lectured republicans to not put up a fight in the culture wars.

Defenders of Ryan will do what they always do when an establishment squish, like Ryan, who wants to feel comfortable at lefty dinner parties while standing near the jumbo shrimp display, by saying Ryan simply said that we shouldn't engage the left on EVERY social/culture war issue.....

....which is the trick. Because these squishes never tell you WHICH social/culture war issue is worth engaging with.....because their actual intent is that you never engage with the left on ANY social/culture issue.

And so you simply get a year after year after year Surrender Message from the squish/FakeCons on EVERY social/culture war issue that "this is not the hill to die on", "but trust us, we'll be with you on the next one!". LOL

Last night we saw that actually the opposite is true. Every single social/culture issue should be engaged and fought over so that LLR Chuck and his lefty/democratical buddies don't have a clear field to do things like shove CRT down our kids throats.

Now that McAuliffe has conceded because even he knows the Dem machine can’t manufacture enough votes to put him over the top. With history not on their side (the opposing party of the president gain votes and election results in VA foretelling the national voting trend the next year), I fully expect the Congressional Dems to redouble their efforts to push their hard left agenda and existing bills - spending, voting, and other far left ideas - since they now have less than one year to get them passed. And it maybe only 6 months, since those in close re-election battles need to start campaigning hard to retain their seats as their GOP opponents will have a head start. Hopefully, Manchin and Sinema hold tough and not flip on their stated opposition to the current legislation, and especially the filibuster.

Last night's results showed the importance of becoming involved at the local level. When Fairfax, VA reported a problem that would require re-scanning of some ballots, the GOP had poll-watchers and GOP attorneys on site to make sure everything was on the up and up. The GOP had poll-watchers trained and ready at each precinct. This prevented the democrats from pulling their usual tricks.

So, if you believe there has been election fraud in the past, the best thing to do would be to attend your next local GOP meeting. You can become a precinct worker and help decide which candidates to endorse, have input into setting policy as to voting procedures in your county, and most importantly be a poll-watcher during elections in your county.

Well, yes, when teh Democrats don't manage to steal an election, we don't claim that they did.

However, when teh Democrats "discover" a thug drive that has over 8k votes on it, that takes their candidate from losing to winning?

When the Democrat vote counters "stop counting for the night", kick out all teh poll watchers and reporters, and then start "vote counting" again, and their State vote totals go from "Trump's got this in the bag" to "wow, it looks like the Dems will win"?

When the Dems get courts to throw out election law, and make it easier for fraudulent votes (no signature matching, must be accepted days later than the law allows, even if it doesn't have a legally required postmark) to be counted, and then the Dems "win" in a tight vote count?

When teh republican is leading, until a couple days after the election the King County "vote counters" "discover" some boxes of ballots in the trunk of a car, and those ballots just happen to flip the election to the D?

Why yes, then we do call out the vote fraud.

The fact that one election was "outside the margin of fraud" doesn't indicate that fraud doesn't exists, it just indicates that this time the win was too big to steal.

Want to get rid of allegations of vote fraud? Stop acting like your'e in favor of fraud

It's in a number of places, but here's a graf beginning at 30:49:

The test, as always, is to keep faith with our most basic ideals and today we are challenged from within and from without. If we fail this test, it will be because the progressive left will have won by default. It will be because the conservative cause, which has been the protector of our great American creed, lost its way and followed the left into the trap of identity politics, defining itself by resentments, instead of by ideals. It will be because we mistake reactionary skirmishes and the cultural wars with a coherent agenda. It will be because we gave too much allegiance to one passing political figure and weren’t loyal enough to our principles.

I mean, I do see his point: If conservatives keep getting sucked into petty spats with the Left over this and that racial/gender/identity initiative, the bigger conservative message can get lost. But in saying that in that case, "the progressive left will have won by default," isn't he conceding that conservatives ought to just let the Left win on all those points? That strikes me as unreasonably defeatist, and is probably what Drago had in mind.

But as the left gets more woke, the rest of America is getting weary. This stuff is exhausting, and we conservatives have got to be careful not to get caught up in every little cultural battle. Sometimes, these skirmishes are just creations of outraged pedallers detached from reality and not worth anybody’s time. They draw attention away from the far more important case we must make to the American people. Culture matters, absolutely. Yes.

But our party must be defined by more than a tussle over the latest grievance or perceived slight. We must not let them take priority over solutions grounded in principle to improve people’s lives, because politics based on racial or other identity is always a path to deeper and deeper hostility, with sad and harmful consequences, and it is precisely the opposite of conservative thought.

It will be because we gave too much allegiance to one passing political figure and weren’t loyal enough to our principles.

James K said...

Can you quote the part that you are referring to?

Not Drago, but I believe he was referring to these things. First, the slap at Trump:

"Even for our good showing in the House, 2020 left Republicans powerless in Washington. Even worse, it was horrifying to see a presidency come to such a dishonorable and disgraceful end. So once again, we conservatives find ourselves at a crossroads and here’s the reality that we have to face. If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality or of second rate imitations, then we’re not going anywhere. Voters looking for Republican leaders want to see independence in metal. They will not be impressed by the sight of yes-men and flatterers flocking to Mar-a-Lago...."

Then the surrender on cultural issues:

"But as the left gets more woke, the rest of America is getting weary. This stuff is exhausting, and we conservatives have got to be careful not to get caught up in every little cultural battle. Sometimes, these skirmishes are just creations of outraged pedallers [sic] detached from reality and not worth anybody’s time. They draw attention away from the far more important case we must make to the American people.

Culture matters, absolutely. Yes. But our party must be defined by more than a tussle over the latest grievance or perceived slight. We must not let them take priority over solutions grounded in principle to improve people’s lives...."

What is he referring to by "tussle over the latest grievance or perceived slight"? In the context of cultural issues, things like the redefinition of marriage, the submission to the demands of transgenders for validation (and financing) of their grievances? Abortion rights through the 9th month of pregnancy? The harassment and censorship of people who disagree with the prevailing leftist dogma on the above? Ryan seems to suggest we should just shut up and rely on our leaders to write yet more legislation. We don't need more legislation to "improve people's lives," thank you very much. How about staying the hell out of our lives?

I couldn't get a good link for Ed Durr's video ad because I'm not on Facebook. He's the guy who beat Steve Sweeney, the NJ Senate Leader, with a $150 campaign chest and a Facebook ad. It's video gold. Hopefully someone else can post it here.

You tell me, rcocean: if I own a property I want to rent out to someone at a certain price, who are you to force me to rent it out at a lower price? Logic and rational economics, please, not the usual flapdoodle.

Paul Ryan once famously just smiled and nodded when Joe Biden told him to his face on live TV in front of a global audience in 2012: "these guys (republicans), always betting against America".

Which makes alot of sense given Ryan's wingman, Mitt "Sure I'll march with BLM" Romney, that same year surrendered on live TV in front of a global audience after Candy Crowley said 'boo' to him.

Paul Ryan at the Reagan Library in May of 2021: "But as the left gets more woke, the rest of America is getting weary. Yes.

But our party must be defined by more than a tussle over the latest grievance or perceived slight....

....And we need to be frank. Today, too many people on the right are enamored with identity politics in ways that are antithetical to Reagan conservatism.

"this stuff is exhausting"
"we conservatives have got to be careful not to get caught up in every little cultural battle"
"skirmishes" (like daughters getting raped in High School bathrooms by skirt wearing/female "identifying" rapists)
"are just creations of outraged pedallers detached from reality" (you know, like all the parents that had to watch their kids get forced fed CRT/identity politics; Like LLR Chuck, Ryan probably thinks those parents are all lying)
"not worth anybody's time"
"They draw attention away from the far more important case we must make to the American people"......about not defunding obamacare, or Planned Parenthood, or not funding the wall, etc (Perpetual Establishment-republican led Failure Theatre)
"tussle"
"grievance"
"perceived slight"

And, oh yeah, people on the right are also pushing Identity politics.

Sure Paul, sure.

There is not a single reference in that speech to any specific cultural issue where Ryan would draw the line.

It's not there because there is no where Ryan would draw the line.

Yes, this. 1000x this.

And be there to push the Party to sue any time the Left tries to change the voting laws / procedures other than by a vote of the Legislature. Trump feel down on that in 2020, to all our cost.

Don't let hte GOP ever fall down on that again

In the Virginia race when Fairfax county began to "rescan votes" (whatever that is), Youngkin had lawyers on the scene right away. In New Jersey as CNN explained, the mail-in ballots were counted last and they would be mostly Democrat so that Murphy had that to fall back on. The result is that Virginia and New Jersey are established as reference points: a race won by Republican in-person voting; a race won by Democrat mail-in vote-harvesting - what happens to the citizens of the differently elected regimes? how many police/EMT's will lose jobs in NJ over vaccine mandates v. how many in Virginia? how many successful minorities will see their children's public school gutted by CRT in NJ v. seeing their children's public school restored in Virginia? Unemployment in NJ v. unemployment in Virginia? And so on.

All the ballets won't be in until the 8th. Then the challenges will start. No winner until after Thanksgiving. Jack has a team of lawyers ready to go and he is ready to fight. Not over by a long shot.

Consider this statement: "Racism has been ingrained into society through the incorporation of racialized practices into all the social and economic structures of the United States." Is this not an example of how CRT is now part of Virginia educational policy? That statement comes from the Virginia Department of Education web site.

https://www.virginiaisforlearners.virginia.gov/anti-racism-in-education/

"Anti-racism in Education
Key considerations to Remember about Racism and Anti-racism:
Avoid common misconceptions of racism and understand the requirements of anti-racism in order to successfully communicate and implement policies, processes, and procedures centered in anti-racism.

Racialized outcomes do not require racist actors. Racism goes far beyond individual instances of mistreatment due to skin color. The focus of an anti-racist education agenda should instead be on interrogating and dismantling the system of social structures that produces cumulative, durable, race-based inequalities.

Striving for equity and inclusion is not interchangeable with acknowledging systemic racism. Racism cannot be defeated unless it is named for what it is. By naming and framing racism it is no longer ‘masked’ by coded language and denial (from: How school and district leaders can address systemic racism).

Racism is dynamic and ever-changing. Racism has been ingrained into society through the incorporation of racialized practices into all the social and economic structures of the United States. The work to dismantle systemic racism—and create school environments grounded in the principles of anti-racism—must adapt to the dynamism of racism through ongoing and active work. In other words, school leaders should not expect to eradicate racism in a few weeks, but rather to continuously evaluate current and future practices with anti-racism as the goal (from: Racial Equity Tools, & Grassroots Policy Project. (n.d.). Race, Power and Policy: Dismantling Structural Racism). "

To people like Paul Ryan, secular identity matters more than truth. So they have to feign stupidity and pretend they don't know that Paul Ryan is a secular globalist whose priorities are:

1) foreign wars and excessive "defensive" buildup
2) tax cuts for oligarchs

It's supremely unconvincing, greatly irritates the vast bulk of people on the left and right, and doesn't even serve as good camouflage among SJW types. As for the speech, Paul Ryan was a high-level representative of the Republican Party, and doesn't once mention:

- abortion
- sexual deviancy
- Pedophilia, which has become a core issue for most nationalists in the face of the Epstein conspiracy.

Instead, he promotes "inclusivity" and "individualism." He's not a serious person, and his antidotes are completely useless in the face of open black supremacy and white genocide. Thankfully, the majority of American blacks don't buy into the constant incitement: they may be angry at white government and grateful for free stuff, but most of them want no serious engagement with the token racists at the highest levels of the Democrat Party. That's why his type is being kicked to the curb.
