Thank you so much for putting all the parts together. I signed up for TikTok last year and was always so frustrated that I couldn't "find" part 2 of a video. Maybe if I had "followed" or "liked" the video I would have seen it, but I didn't like TT that much.

She should have realized pretty quickly that the hole led to the next door apartment--which she would have known is empty.

The first thing I thought of is the recurring dream so many New Yorkers have of noticing a door in their apartment that they'd never noticed before and opening it to find another room or rooms and realizing that their apartment is much bigger than they thought it was.
When she first crawled through the hole, I started thinking about how she could open up the wall and start using this other room. But it's such a mess and if she doesn't even know how to crawl through a hole in her wall, then she surely doesn't know how to work with drywall.

100% this. I've had this exact dream many times, and I always feel a little sad after I wake up. So, yeah, at first I thought of that. So the video was a bit of a letdown. The next door apartment is being gutted. Which she already knew about, if she's being honest. She would've heard the sounds of banging, hammering, sawing, etc.
Do we know she didn't just cut that hole herself? She trespassed and posted a viral pseudohorror film.

My best guess is that the landlord planned to install a bathroom mirror medicine cabinet and cut the hole in the drywall. Last minute, decided to save some money and installed the mirror instead. One clue is all of the toothpaste, etc. sitting around the sink.

The building I live in was built in 1913. In its original incarnation, my apartment was but one portion of a huge floor-through single apartment which is now broken up into four separate apartments, of which mine is the smallest. My bathroom was the pantry where cooked food from the kitchen was transferred after preparation, and from which it was delivered to the dining room through an opening in the wall between pantry and dining room. What was the dining room in that setup is now the largest (and main) room of the apartment. (There is also a small foyer, a sizable bedroom, and a very small kitchen and small bathroom.)
