"A Donald Trump supporter who donated $2.5m to help expose and prosecute claims of fraud in the presidential election wants his money back after what he says are 'disappointing results.'"

"Fredric Eshelman, a businessman from North Carolina, said he gave the money to True the Vote, a pro-Trump 'election ethics' group in Texas that promised to file lawsuits in seven swing states as part of its push to 'investigate, litigate, and expose suspected illegal balloting and fraud in the 2020 general election.' But according to a lawsuit Eshelman filed this week in Houston.... True the Vote dropped its legal actions and discontinued its Validate the Vote 2020 campaign, then refused to return his calls when he demanded an explanation."

He should have given the money towards recounting more counties in Wisconsin.

I remember True the Vote. They were the organization that just purely by chance saw a huge spate of investigations by various ostensibly-independent state entities, yes? The FBI, the ATF, OSHA. That was in 2013.

Don't forget the IRS slow walking their 5013C application.

Organizations can metastasize with money & power, but they seemed true to the cause of fair elections.

If he spent the money before the election trying to steal the election for Trump, then he might have gotten something for his investment

I have little doubt they originally were. Then the full weight of Obama's wingman came down on them in 2013. They were forced to accept infiltration, got hollowed out, and now leftists wear it like a skinsuit, demanding respect.

It's an unbeatable tactic when used against an opponent that refuses to acknowledge it. Why wouldn't they use it every chance they get?

For that kind of money, he should have hired lawyers.

I'll bet he could get Hunter Biden for half that.

He should have given the money to Quinn. He’s got more irrefutable evidence of massive fraud than anyone else I know. Imagine what he would uncover with 2.5 million? That Martians were using their secret Martian techniques to switch millions of votes in the blink of an eye?

rwnutjob,

Yes, it was the 501(c)3 application that started it all off, of course. Then multiple visits by the FBI, a couple ATF audits, an OSHA inspection and an inspection by the Texas state equivalent of OSHA, and of course at least one IRS audit, plus multiple rounds of questions surrounding the 501(c)3.

What for? By all accounts they were an ordinary small tool-and-die manufacturing company, up to date on their paperwork and as close to complete compliance with Federal regs as any small business ever gets. (OSHA found, e.g., that they had seatbelts on their forklifts, but not the stipulated kind.)

Qwinn said...

No, Steve. Everyone has the same amount of irrefutable evidence that I do. The only ones refuting it are those who refuse to look at it because their contempt for Trump supporters is total, and those who have looked at it and know fraud happened but they lie about it because they want it to succeed because their contempt for Trump supporters is total.

I read a few blurbs from True the Vote on the internet and got the impression it was run by a single suburban housewife busy with kids. I had no desire to give them money.

Michelle Dulak Thomson said...

Night,

She's not a "single" suburban housewife; she's married. (As "housewife" implies.) And she's "busy with kids" in exactly the same way anyone who has kids, male or female, is busy with them. And there's nothing wrong with the suburbs, particularly. I find your precis description a mite condescending.

I haven't sent her any money myself, but I must say that after reading the National Review account of her 2013 persecution (there really is no other word for it) by the Federal government, I was inclined to. No one ought to go through that from what purports to be the all-embracing Government protecting us all.

"We need superior election fraud attorneys."

I think Powell is pretty good, but what we need is some people who understand software, and some subpoenas to get at that software. I am still astonished that there seem to be no competent adults in charge of counting votes in national elections. Every inhabited outpost with a zip code does it their own way. Tie knots in a piece of string and report the tally by post card. Buy a twenty-million-dollar computer system based on a server in Germany from a bunch of Venezuelans. Why not? Sounds legit. What a fucking zoo. I guess when they were negotiating the Constitution, there was no way the States were going to give up control of their own elections, so this is what we got.

Now let me see, Joe Biden is either the master of the fraud circuit from his basement fixing the whole thing while hiding or he is the incompetent guy who cant get out of his own way. Which one is it trumpers? You can't have it both ways. Mastermind of 80,000,000 from his basement coordination or cripple hiding in the basement and cant do anything. More folks up in here with all the evidence and not a bit of proof or evidence validated by law as the whining guy lies incessantly called out by everyone, his own lawyers say no fraud to the judges when asked.Lets do another vote recount in Wisconsin, Joe keeps gaining ,trump keeps spending your $$$ $3,000,000 plus to lose another 80 some odd votes for Joe, brilliant! D DAY DECEMBER 14TH the fat lady will sing(and the fat man will have to sing, no choice)

Michelle Dulak Thomson said...

With respect, DINKY DAU 45, you are ignoring the possibility that to most of the rest of us seems the likeliest, namely that Joe Biden has in fact been living in his basement, taken out occasionally for a delicate spin with the TelePrompTer and otherwise getting a "lid" called one day out of three, while anything in the way of election-rigging goes on despite him, certainly without his control and probably without his knowledge. How anyone could trust this man with the nuclear codes is beyond me. Mind you, I'm not too crazy about Trump's having them either, but Trump has been busy ending wars and drawing down troops, whereas Biden's previous Administration was mainly busy starting new ones.

I agree with you that he has probably exhausted all legal channels by now, which doesn't mean that there wasn't fraud (hell, there's always fraud in an American election, as you must know, and there are certainly enough verified instances here to prove at least that much). Just bear in mind that Trump's losses in three states that would've put him over the EC top were less than half those that did put him over the top in 2016. Per the Electoral College, this was an extremely close race.

The "no evidence" thing drives me up the wall. Of course there isn't publicly-available evidence, if no one will look at it. My house could be full of termites, and you'd say there's "no evidence of termites," despite my swearing to having seen them and several other people swearing likewise, if no exterminator will look at what we have seen and have sworn to have seen. It isn't a termite unless a judge has declared it to be a termite, yes? And judges are throwing out affidavits w/o even reviewing them, as I understand it.

gadfly said...

Michelle, Sweetie . . . If you hire a bug exterminator company, they well diligently search for the tell-tale signs of wood damage and the larva stage of the termite and show it to you - or not if there is no wood evidence or termites. Termite-free certification is normally necessary in order for you to sell your house and that is also the case with election certifications. Trump cannot receive enough certifications to win the Electoral College vote because Biden already has. As best as I can recall, the last conviction for voter fraud happened in a single county primary in NC and that cheater was a Republican.

Tomorrow, Arizona and Wisconsin will join Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Nevada in certifying election vote counts. And when Trump asks for a SCOTUS review on his fiasco lawsuits, the justices en banc will refuse to hear them.

Robert Cook said...

There's hope! At least one ardent Trump supporter has wised up and realized he was conned.

DavidUW said...

I know Fred. I've known him since 2011.

$2.5M to him is roughly equivalent to $250 to a median income household. I mean, not something you want to throw away but a donation he thought might have worked out if Trump won.

Whatever.

Michelle Dulak Thomson said...

gadfly, honey-buns, the point I was making is that you think you have termites, but actual exterminators weren't allowed access to your house. Therefore all you have is you and some neighbors saying that there are termites, and the exterminators not looking at all, because they haven't been looking. Finding evidence of termites might mean that there was ... evidence of termites. But if you haven't looked, you can truthfully say that you have found no evidence of termites.
