Nancy gets her hair cut.

She "Didn't know she was doing anything wrong."

Maybe the fact you were the only person getting their hair cut and you were completely fucking alone and you had to make a special appointment because you were the only person that hair stylist had seen for weeks would clue you in.

Democrats are evil people.

People who vote for democrats are stupid and evil people.

In the news:

A Wisconsin man was caught with a flamethrower, smoke grenades, and fireworks while headed toward a protest in Green Bay over the weekend, WBAY-TV reported.

Matthew Banta, 23, is charged with obstructing an officer and two counts of felony bail jumping, the station reported. He's also "known to be a violent Antifa member who incites violence in otherwise relatively peaceful protests," WBAY said, citing a criminal complaint.

Believe it or not, Banta also is known as "Commander Red," police told the station
.

Matthew Banta is also wanted for pointing a loaded firearm at a police officer. (Note: Aiways assume every firearm is loaded. Especially if it is pointed in your direction.)

Great people in your state, Althouse.

The hair salons in San Francisco are closed due to Covid-19 regulations but Nancy Pelosi was caught violating the ban. Sans mask but the stylist ministering to her was suitably garbed. Although they couldn't have been practicing appropriate social distancing, not unless the stylist was using a rake and a garden hose.

I don't know if it can be considered hypocrisy when it's so blatant.

"otherwise relatively peaceful protests" - interesting phrasing. It's almost like the writer expects that people won't think for themselves and just go along with a mob because- well, reasons. He probably spends too much time around progressives.

So... how of hands- how many peaceful people posting here get violent at the urging of others?

I heard that the NYT recently published a confession from a professional mail-in vote fraudster. I immediately checked outside to look for flying pigs. It was an article against interest.

I might have just caught him on TV tonight talking about the nursing home gig. Classic Chicago. Each nursing home is scheduled a mid-week absentee voting day. The opposition can often only get one volunteer observer to take a day off. Meanwhile, the machine has a dozen water department guys taking a day.

Everyone gets to help the old feebs fill out their absentee ballots, in a "non-partisan" way.

I was chatting with my brother the other day about possible election fraud in the national election. He was all you're full of shit. I'm like, dude, do you have even the slightest clue about how to steal elections the Democrat way?

Gospace said...

I see from my Facebook feed that the leftist talking point has gone out- DESTROY KYLE!

Starting by claiming all the people shot by him were pure as snow because they're innocent until proven guilty! They have rights! I don't see that as a winning rallying cry for Democrats.

A quick glance at all the mainstream media coverage of the two dead and one wounded criminals
talks about what great guys they were. The lefty talking points on Facebook say everything bad about them being spread on social media is lies from right wing media.

What is that about two different movies?

And Ann- I have a legal question that as a law professor you could opine on. Almost every analysis I've seen says that if Kyle legally was open carrying a weapon- then none of the DA's ridiculous charges would stick, period. Kyle neeeds to be carrying that weapon unlawfully for any charges to follow.

So, underage Kyle cannot be tried as an ADULT for carrying the rifle- because then it's not a crime. He has to be charged as a juvenile for that. But then- in the same trial- the DA is charging Kyle as an adult- because he violating the law as a minor....

Kyle is not Schrödinger's Cat, he cannot be both an adult and a child. If I were sitting on the jury- I would look at that and say- "BS". He's one- or the other. Every example I've ever seen or heard about a child being tried as an adult was for wholly adult charges- where the adult charges stood alone. He has to be guilty as a child to face the charges as an adult- and while sometimes the law is an ass, that seems completely nonsensical to this layman. What sayeth you?

I don't watch network news often but happened to catch the Boston CBS affiliate's show last night. It is a weird experience. The readers report the days Covid cases and deaths, all in somber and serious voices. Then they move on to the weather - which was lovely in Boston yesterday - and are all happy and bright, joking with each other and the weather guy. No commercial to separate the two reports. Bizarre.

Meanswhile, DeBlasio indicates restaurants may not serve patrons indoors until June 2021, or when a Covid vaccine becomes available (he guessed Spring). Will this be the standard now? Even with the new CDC report about Covid exclusive deaths and overstating of Covid infections? What about the science showing that kids don't get sick and don't act as super-spreaders when they have the virus? Can the schools open now or must we wait for a vaccine?

You seem to be getting way down in the weeds over the misdemeanor charge of carrying a gun under the age of 18. In the big scheme, that may be a throw-away charge. Kyle has a lot more to worry about with the other 5 counts - all felonies for which he will be tried as an adult. Hell, the 12 year old girls from Waukesha WI that stabbed their friend and left her for dead in a park (Slenderman case) were tried as adults.

Charges Kyle Rittenhouse

Yet another day has passed without the major networks releasing post convention polling. we can speculate they hope Trump's lead is only the result of a convention bounce andthat we can resume out usual D+7 polls showing Biden with a lead in a few weeks...

Nate makes a sideways reference to the lack of polls yesterday. For a guy who's lifeblood is poll data he seems suspiciously unconcerned...

He was last seen hyping a poll to be released today from an 'A' rated pollster, according to Nate. He must have gotten word it is great news for Joe...

Judge Sullivan, as set the court calendar for the Flynn matter. It is clear Sullivan will not drop the case until well after the election. How long has it been since the DoJ pulled its prosecution of Flynn, and filed for the dismissal of the case? 6 months? What about the constitutional right to a speedy trial. The judge is an obvious political hack. This is his last case before he retires, so he is immune from disciplinary action. The falsely accused suffers, not a good look for the judge, but why would a judge care about justice?

Markey's defeat of Kennedy is part of a genuine trend. The 'moderate' Democrat has no real voice in today's politics any more than does the 'country-club' Republican. Pelosi's political opponent, another Democrat, is a socialist attorney of Pakistani birth. I'd like to see even a socialist defeat Pelosi. He would have only minimal Congressional clout. And it's high time we had a genuine debate about Capitalism vs. Socialism in this country.

Correct, the US educational policy re Covid is bizarre by international standards.

The Spanish response is to open the schools, as scheduled, with relatively minor adjustments.
This is the Basque regional government policy for the beginning of the school year- Spanish version -

https://www.euskadi.eus/gobierno-vasco/-/noticia/2020/inicio-del-curso-escolar-2020-2021-euskadi-y-datos-actualizados-del-covid-19-euskadi/

Roughly,

Schools will open gradually by grade and level, from Sept 7 to the end of September.

Masks will be obligatory. Digital thermometers and disinfectants to be provided, etc.

Each school will have a medical officer (or person dedicated to dealing with Covid issues) assigned. Their duties will be to enforce Covid precautions and to coordinate with the Health authorities. Also each school will be assigned to a given Hospital or Clinic (Organización Sanitaria Integrada in Spanish bureaucratese). Handling of cases detected in a given school will be taken out of the hands of the school and entirely under the responsibility of the hospital or clinic.

The Department of Education has organized a reserve of 1000 teachers, to be deployed wherever schools require reinforcements (presumably for where they may lose teachers to illness).
