The left doesn't build, it only destroys. Therefore, they can't understand people who start, develop and operate businesses. That's today's Democratic Party. And they're only concerned about the looting, rioting, and burning out of possible political repercussions, not because it's criminal and despicable.

I wish this would result in Trump being re-elected. But I'm doubtful, and beginning to think that its only Trump voters that are upset at all the rioting, property damage, death, and looting. The Liberals and Democrats voters seem to be like Joe Biden and Pelosi. That is: pretty blase about the whole thing. Like "It'd be nice if we could be peaceful and not be violent, but antifa/BLM are protesting INJUSTICE. So, if some people get killed or property destroyed, well no big whoop". Go read Biden's bland take on the riots and destruction.

Wouldn't it be crazy if Biden and the D's win and this becomes the new normal for the next four years?

It's a little late to come to that conclusion. How many months has this vandalism and rioting been going on? How many months have elected Democrat office holders - Mayors and on up- been silent to tolerant about the vandalism and rioting?

Recall the public shaming of that one diner in DC who stood up to BLM coercion. Isn't that public shaming what Congresscritter Maxine Waters supported doing to Republican higher-ups several years ago? It's shaming all the way down.

I think it's not simplistic, but simple: You want more destruction and chaos like this, elect Biden, because Democrats aren't doing a thing about this stuff.

I don't think that's a simplistic take. I think it's a realistic take. I don't know how you have a complex take where you don't wind up in the same place.

It's interesting that people who presumably don't want Trump to be re-elected assume that other people are like them and should assume that rioting translates into votes for Trump.

I see the same assumptions from the Trump base on twitter.

But, if Trump is the only person who people believe can stop it, why doesn't he stop it now?

Isn't it callous not to do what people expect you to do as president?

There is no such thing as "simplistic".
Not even in engineering. Data is data and facts are facts, and cannot be ignored.
The problem may be complex but ignoring things does not help troubleshoot the problem.

There is such a thing as being too willing to rationalize.
Rationalizations are more plausible coming from intelligent people but they are still lies even so.

This is perfect. At the beginning you could claim ignorance.

If you go to a BLM protest now, you know there is going to be a riot, looting, assaults, etc. Ignorance is no longer a defense.

Amadeus 48 said...

Well, R/V, worry away. I think you are on to something. This is even pushing people who think complex terms into the Trump camp.

Part of the problem is that the non-judgmental types who flock to the Democratic Party have a rather naive view of human nature, particularly humans in large groups where personal responsibility dissolves. When guaranteeing the rights of assembly and petition, the Founders put a condition in the First Amendment: "Congress... shall make no law abridging... the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Note the "peaceably" condition. A lot of Democrat governors apparently believe that throwing a rock through the window of a business and setting a fire, or trying to blind sworn police officers with lasers is something that they should not clamp down.

That is stupid, and a lot of Americans, including you, know it is stupid.

Personally, I am going to stage my own protest at that stupidity by voting for Trump.

- Implement solution A

- Solution B seems likely. Implement Solution B
- Find problem not fixed.
- Implement Solution C
...
Ultimately the thing does work, or work well enough. Now you have a Solution X that you can try when something similar comes up. Make sure to stick it in your cookbook.
This is how problems are solved most of the time.
Life is empirical.

Warren Harding, when he was in the Senate, sponsored legislation that would have made lynching a federal offense. The bill went nowhere....Jefferson, Jackson, and Wilson have just recently fell out of favor with the Democrats for their racially benighted policies, but Republicans--with the exception of Grant--have not received any corresponding credit for enlightened policies. Eisenhower was more of a civil rights hawk than Stevenson. Stevenson opposed sending troops to Little Rock to enforce the desegregation order. Truman signed the order integrating the military, but Eisenhower was the one who made it happen. Eisenhower, not Truman or FDR, was the one who terminated the Jim Crow laws in Washington DC.

Speaking of simplistic terms, there was the meme a while back that "white supremacists" were the ones doing the vandalism and rioting. Last month roesch/voltaire informed us of what Richmond PD said "white supremacists" were doing in riots in Richmond.

July 28 A masked man who was seen in a viral video smashing the windows of a south Minneapolis auto parts store during the George Floyd protests, earning him the moniker 'Umbrella Man,' is suspected to be a member of the Hell’s Angels biker gang..."
roesch/voltaire :
Add that arrest to this :RICHMOND, Va. – Riots in downtown Richmond over the weekend were instigated by white supremacists under the guise of Black Lives Matter, according to law enforcement officials. And it makes one wonder how many extreme right wingers have been involved in this kind of action.

roesch/voltaire has accurately reported what Richmond PD sources said in the press in late July. However, it appears that Richmond PD has changed its tune about "white supremacists" rioting.

August 12: 4 charged after riots in City of Richmond Tuesday night.
"Julius Dela Cruz, Lakshmi Menon, Kyra Nguyen and Brian Quach were arrested just before midnight and charged with rioting. Richmond Police seized items such as a metal crowbar and a hammer."

Very few people associate white supremacists with those surnames.

August 19: Antifa Rioters 'Embedded Themselves' Among Peaceful Protesters to Wreak Havoc in Richmond.
On Monday, Richmond, Va., Police announced they had arrested 12 people after a riot on Sunday night. At a press conference, Richmond Police Chief Gerald Smith said every suspect was affiliated with antifa to some degree or another. He also noted that antifa activists had embedded themselves among peaceful protesters.

One simplistic attempt to blame the riots on "white supremacists" or "extreme right wingers" which roesch/voltaire was all to willing to propagate. I doubt roesch/voltaire will do any mea culpas on this.

What the hell do they mean by that threat if it is not supposed to mean there will be violence, looting and intimidation unless everyone bows a knee to them and their every demand? If they only want to protest, they should do it during daylight, without masks, showing that they are willing to be identified with their beliefs, carrying signs, not fireworks, clubs and guns, picketing in front of public buildings instead of trying to burn them down with people inside. If they marched down the streets peacefully, they might win the hearts and minds of the majority of people instead of their disdain.

There are also people that in their hearts, never mind what they say, have

them and (b) genuinely hated Trump.

Now both kinds of people exist, but I think the great majority will actually
be in the second camp.

But having said that, there are still enough people who are genuinely horrified
at what has occurred in St. Paul, Madison, and Kenosha so that if the Democrats
do 'win' in Wisconsin or Minnesota, then that will have only been possible
through vote fraud. And the same can be said for a great many other states.

It won't, I don't think. The Democrat Gestapo (sic) and the Media will suppress all of these actions, using force, if necessary. Simply to demonstrate that Trump is the problem and those that supported him.

Ironically, the people who are affected by the violence, and those who feel disenfranchised, were the source the initial protests, will find their lives actually much, much worse off: while being told that things are now going great and 'getting back to normal'.

We saw AntiFA and their Black Bloc buddies organizing for this last fall, after the rioting last year. There is Soros money behind it, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find ChiCom money too. Their goal is to destroy the US from within. This is part of a Marxist plan that the Soviets pushed here when Ann and I were in college, and against the Nazis back in the early 1930s. I believe the people funding and organizing the violent rioting are evil. Their goal has nothing really to do with systemic racism or police brutality, but, rather, seeks to destroy this country, using the illusion of that systemic racism and police brutality and replace it with something that most in this country would consider far worse.

Then there are the rest, the sheeple. On the bottom, you have a group of high school dropouts with IQs well below 100. Best you can do there is to re-educate or lock up those using them as shock troops. But there are probably a lot more who are engaging in this rioting, inciting those who can’t really know better, or, like much of the Dem Party leadership, giving tacit approval.

I don’t think that the Dem Congressional leadership, when they put on kente stoles and knelt for BLM, were seriously worried about police violence against Blacks. Instead, they did it seeing that they could garner more power by pandering to those stupid enough to actually believe that there is any significant racism these days remaining in the well integrated large city police departments. The police, when allowed and encouraged to do their jobs, have an anti-criminal bias, not an anti-black bias (notably pretty much every BLM martyr was a criminal, and Black officers were often involved in their deaths). It just so happens that those Dems extended their slavery and Jim Crow power over Blacks by destroying their families, through their ill advised War on Poverty.

Ok, maybe I should have put Dem leadership into the evil category, quietly encouraging the violence in order to gain and maintain power.

Much of the middle seems to be dissatisfied youths, primarily white, middle class, and often college educated, but often with unusable or socially disruptive degrees (e.g. gender studies, etc). They are often mad at society, or they just seek excitement, and see no bad consequences in destroying the society rich enough that they can destroy instead of build. Because of our wealth, they have never really had to grow up, settle down, get a good job, and raise a family. They can be settled down fairly quickly - through having the shit beat out of them, or being sentenced to long prison terms. Right now, it is still a big game for them. When that stops, most of them will. It probably wouldn’t take that many lily white kids being placed in gen pop (With an organized crime tag) in a medium security prison, amongst the black, Hispanic, and even Asian gangs, to make them give it up. Note, BTW, that it is the Soros funded DAs who have been the most aggressive making sure that doesn’t happen.

Just like Trump is fighting the Democrats, the Republican Party AND the Never Trumper conservatives, blacks are fighting several groups at once as well - and it's a war of attrition, so who gets hurt is beside the point:

Crack, the perennial loser thinks blacks are "fighting a war of attrition." Since blacks are 13% of the population and black men (although we see lots of violence from young black women) are 6%, I guess that war of attrition is not looking good for you.

Of course, you could go to Africa but, I understand that African countries want no part of dysfunctional American blacks. Furthermore, Crack says "burn them down too" to the 35% of blacks that are suburban middle class, so the war of attrition looks even worse. Another loser.

That's why these creeps need to be prosecuted by DoJ for civil rights violations using the technique Clinton used to inflict double jeopardy on the LAPD cops in 1992. Just bypass the Soros DAs.

Uhhh...last time I checked, Trump is currently the president, and therefore this is Trump's America right now. By the MAGA clowns own logic, Trump caused this.

I see we have a new left wing troll but at least his profile tells us he is a writer in California. What do you write for Zachary ?

Is it not possible, or even likely, that the anarchists and thugs would prefer to see Trump re-elected?

If you want to believe you are fighting oppression, which oppressor would make a better antagonist? Donald Trump, who punches back, or a squish like Joe Biden?

The problem is that most of us know exactly how to stop the violence or at least those of us who have been at least somewhat successful raising children. Or cats. We got a cat two years ago, or to be more accurate, I pointed out the Free Kittens sign outside the grocery store, and let nature take its course. When he was a kitten, we thought he was so cute when he would fit inside her purse, or beg for food on the table. She had sworn she would never let a cat on her pristine counters or table. Suffice it to say, that he considers both his territory now. He loves nipping at her bare feet, or even, much of the time, when she is just wearing socks. He also loves drawing blood from her wrists to punish her for imagined affronts. It is very clear who is training whom in the family. But he doesn’t nip at my ankles, or my wrists. He, of course, tried. And flew a couple feet, each time. And nipped at my face on night as a kitten, and ended up swatted off the bed. He and I have a good relationship. When he wants affection, I give it to him. When he wants table scraps, he gets them - on the floor. And when he nips at my ankles, etc, he goes airborne. He doesn’t like that, so doesn’t do it. She, of course, can’t bring herself to do that. Instead, she will hold his head, and sternly inform him that he was a bad boy, and not to do it again. But, of course, he does. And tries to make me the disciplinarian. But that often doesn’t work, because the consequences of bad behavior are not swift and direct.

Kids are like cats in that respect. Most only put their hand once on or by a hot burner, or Bobby pins in an electric socket, once. We learn very quickly not to do something, if there are adverse consequences. Most of us learn that sort of thing faster than cats do.

So, what is the relevance here? AntiFA Commie Scum, along with their BLM Marxist brethren, started small, broke the law in their rioting. They got away with it. They weren’t arrested, but were extolled by the Dems in DC. They upped the ante, upped their law breaking and criminality. When they got arrested for their crimes, the Soros funded prosecutors wouldn’t prosecute their cases. So they upped the ante some more. Etc. Now we have the routine commission by some of them of violent, very serious, felonies, with impunity. They are actively trying to kill or maim police officers, and in other circumstances, would be facing decades of prison time for it. But it furthers Marxist, and up until now, Dem Party, goals, so is excused.

We all know the solution - enforce the law, and lock them up as they would be if their law breaking weren’t so useful to powerful Democrats (and Marxists like Soros). Kick them across the room when they nip at your ankles, and put them in prison marked as violent criminals with gang affiliations (which they effectively are). Do that to the ring leaders, and the violent rioting will stop almost overnight. They wont be seen as cool justice warriors, but as stupid idiots who assaulted the police, and loved to go to prison for it. They should be treated like the adults that they should be, by their ages, and if they are, they will quickly learn not to do what they shouldn’t.

You don't get to choose how you are perceived, although we do influence it in the way we speak, I think mostly in our use of pronouns, because the rest of the words are just intellectualized decoration for your inner thoughts and feelings.

Registered Democrats gotta do what they gotta do. And if the registered Democrats aren't in the street smashing windows, they're in governor mansions and city governments giving support to the party members in the streets.
