I've also started watching Alias (another JJ Abrams show).
Four episodes in, already tired of the martial arts fights. I expect they will continue through the entire series since Hollywood has gone through a long period of being able to produce little else.
Above all, we must reject the demand that we accuse ourselves of crimes we did not commit, and reject the idea that there can be such a thing as universal crime or a crime that bears no name.
The milkweed flower looks like the coronavirus. It spreads through the air, and takes hold in moist environments, as does Covid 19. It’s taproot goes deep into the earth and is hard to remove. It is very persistent wherever it is found, and multiplies prolifically. Coincidence?
Voodoo politics. The return of primitive animism. The children of the elites throwing themselves at the feet of the mob, and adopting mob mentality and behavior.
Nothing new about this--this sort of urban utopianism and infantile leftism is a feature of systems in, well, systemic crisis. Think Paris Commune, for one instance.
AG Barr has the look of a very worried man. I've said since he got on board that he was a Company/FBI apparatchik at heart, whose primary concern is not to limit the damage to Trump (though he'll get as many enemies as he can, win or lose) but to limit the damage to the Organs of State Security that made him.
Might it be he realizes that Dunham is slow-walking everything, while the Organs are crafting the most exquisite bombshell about Sadbear Bill?
The Dixie Chicks have dropped "Dixie" from their name FFS. Now they are just "The Chicks" - but will that withstand the next wave of SJW feminism and #metoo? "The Chicks" will then seem too insulting to their womanhood - they will have to resign to the name "The".
i saw a report today that over a billion $ of the stimulus checks went to dead people.
The Social Security administration maintains a data base of all SS# belonging to people who have died. Why did they not compare the data info to eliminate this overage. I mean, a billion is a large number.
We did that in HR systems in the late 70's. can probably be done on a laptop of iPad now.
@Althouse, tell me something. Do you think anything that has happened in Madison or Milwaukee had occurred without at least the tacit acquiescence of Ben Wikler, head of the Democrat Party in Wisconsin? Or perhaps even his active coordination? And didn’t you push his candidacy for that job?
But you don't embed the actual link, you use one of those "tinyurl" things, when there is absolutely NO reason to have a short URL because it is already put into the hypertext. So, who the hell knows where it goes.

Lost produced basically 3 out 4 of great seasons of entertainment during the first four seasons. I binged the first 4 seasons in the Summer of 2008- I was mesmerized- only season 3 was somewhat lackluster compared to 1,2, and 4, but still quite good. However, that was it. None of the 3 seasons afterwards equaled any of the previous 4. I barely made it through the last season- I almost stopped watching halfway through.
Eddie Willers had a comment in a previous thread about the Season 2 opening sequence in episode 1 as being the best for a season 2 opener ever made. I agree completely. I remember watching it the first time trying to figure what the fuck was going on, and being stunned when it was revealed where Desmond was.
Reminds me of a still life. I like the illumination that comes from the sun low in the sky, it creates interesting colors and contrasts.
Watched the final episode of Ozark season 3 last night. Holy shit what an ending! I know that sort of thing isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are fine actors. The supporting cast are really good too, though generally unknown (to me). Watching it has been an entertaining respite from all the Covid and race baiting hysteria.

He heard things were scary in Wisconsin.
OK. It is clear now who/what has prevailed -- or at least has taken so deep a root in U.S. culture.
What do you all know about critical race theory?
Pretty hard to understand anything when the world speaks a different language than you.
Enter Mr. Eko.
And for the third episode now, Desmond has been pointing his gun at Locke's head.

Jack is an abusive, authoritarian bully.
You've been on a roll, Althouse.
Observing is good, truly seeing better, achieving full awareness best.
That's what writing is for.
You're doing it.

Naaah!
Great photo. Unfortunately, there are reports of very few monarch sightings and eggs this year.
The light is at 5:24, 5 minutes after actual sunrise.

Moronic.

The plant is attractive to monarchs. The virus is attractive to wannabe monarchs.

The vote is on tomorrow on the bill to create the "State of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth."
Just on the basis of the name alone, that has to be an overwhelming NO.
I'm really scared now because the Democrat Candidate for President (Joe Biden of Delaware) said 120 million Americans are dead now from Covid-19!
Oh my God!
Just the other day he said 150 million were killed by guns this year!
Oh my God!
We have to elect him. He's the only one that can save us! Please God, make him choose Mrs. Clinton to be his Vice President.

Yeah, I'm surprised not to see any monarch caterpillars on that plant. They're extremely distinctive.

Lady Antebellum has changed its name to Frau Dritte Reich.
Laura Linney is two of the three most beautiful actresses active now.

I still can't watch those shows though
