NJ reported 90 new cases of covid-19 yesterday and 1871 new deaths.

How did they accomplish this remarkable feat?

The state department of health reviewed months of death certificates and reclassified deaths as probable CV-19 deaths if, among other criteria, they were related to known outbreaks. The example that the Philadelphia Inquirer cited was if you were in a long term care facility and someone else was confirmed by testing as having the disease. Then you died of the disease too.

So pretty much everyone who died in a nursing home over the past several months probably died of cv-19. According to the State of NJ.
