"I’d take her in a heartbeat. She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends. I don’t think she has any desire to live near the White House again."

Said Joe Biden, quoted at KDKA Pittsburgh.

So would Hillary Clinton.

I'm surprised Biden didn't tell us how clean and articulate she is.

Senile, not suicidal.

You should remember, whenever Michelle Obama is mentioned, that when her hubby started politics she got a sinecure position from Illinois Dems, a hospital admin job paying $300k/year. She earned her salary by figuring out how to turf noninsured ER patients, legally but absolutely vilely, to other hospitals so hers didn't bear the cost.

Imagine what she could do in a sinecure as VP, to the entire country.

I would laugh out loud, if after all of this "I'll pick a woman" bullshit, Biden chose Crazy Bernie as his VP choice.

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
But I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow
Don't you draw the Queen of Diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the Queen of Hearts is always your best bet
Now, it seems to me some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get
Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom, well that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

And here I read Meade as responding to the first two commenters that Hillary would make Biden seem younger and smarter, which I would agree with Meade. Alas, we have a failed mind reader playing silly games again.

mikee- yes, I love that about Michelle- or rather, all the people who ignored that about her as they drooled all over her.

The hilarious thing about the quote from Biden is, you know he's banking on that last statement to be true so he can pretend that otherwise he would LOVE having her as VP. Can you imagine trying to be POTUS with Michelle and Barack Obama hanging around?

GatorNavy said...

Yes, please do Mr Biden. Your running mate can be a shrill, tone deaf, greedy, grasping harridan that loathes all America stands for and as a bonus, is African-American.

The Obamas own a house near the WH. They live with Val Jarrett.

For whom is it a step up to be Biden’s Biden?

And is that really someone we want a heartbeat away from the Presidency?

Referencing the AA beneficiary Moochelle as "brilliant" is yet another sign that Biden's farther down the road than any of us ever imagined. If, as the left continuously tells, that both the One and Moochelle are so smart, then we'd have the transcripts, the SATs, the LSATs, as objective truth giving evidence to the propaganda. But we don't. And there's a reason for that. And we know that reason.

Kevin said...

"I'd take her in a heartbeat!"

Bill Clinton used to mutter that to his friends as he scanned state dinners.

Lurker21 said...

How long before Biden is actually saying "I'd hit that!" about VP prospects?

David Begley said...

“According to The Washington Post, the price tag makes the Obamas’ new home the second-most expensive in the neighborhood. Jeff Bezos’ $23 million mansion (the former Textile Museum) is No. 1.

Located just two miles from the White House, the Obamas’ new 8,200-square-foot house has nine bedrooms and 8½ bathrooms — plenty of space for the former first family. “

I’d say two miles is near.

Wince said...

"i'd take her in a heartbeat."

And how many more of those does Biden have left?

gspencer said...

"For whom is it a step up to be Biden’s Biden?"

Someone as cunning as LBJ. "When Clare Boothe Luce later asked him why he would accept the nomination to be number two, he answered: 'Clare, I looked it up: one out of every four Presidents has died in office. I’m a gamblin’ man, darlin’, and this is the only chance I got.'"

Everyone's got a Malcolm Wallace in the closet, don't they?

Milo Minderbinder said...

I'm unsure Biden will have a choice. Michelle is the 25th amendment strategy for a party bereft of talent that desperately wants a return to Obamaism.

How is Joe going to sell his line about “Trump is obsessed with Obama” when Biden is the one who just can’t stop talking Obama? Without contradiction Joe would have no diction at all!

The left want Michelle. Will she do it?
I doubt it. This isn't her dream. Michelle, for all her faults, isn't geared towards power.

Hillary wants power... seeks it...demands it... never tires in her lust for it...
Like Sauron's great eye, or The Terminators machine-hand in Terminator I. She never stops reaching for your neck.

Michelle Obama's "job" in Illinois was so important that it was never filled again after she left. Have you tried to read her Princeton dissertation? Whoo boy.

You know what would put an end to the "she's brilliant" talk? Her actually having to mix it up on the campaign trail!

Browndog said...

Might as well since her husband has taken control over his campaign.

Her Princeton thesis was described as illiterate and incoherent.

He's not very bright and she's not as bright as he. Although I think both of them have likely figured out by now how many states there are and how to pronounce "corps".

True that. Mooch is lazy. She's like Oprah, but without the extra weight. She likes the high life, the cheering crowds, the adulation, but there's no evidence that she likes to, you know, work.

Now, until the President dies, resigns, or is removed, the VP need have no more than ceremonial duties. (In this case, however, they may include having to explain/excuse/rationalize the latest word salad from the putative Prez. Not an enticing prospect, methinks...) But when he does, and he will, she'll be under fire from all directions. No more free passes or participation trophies. In other words, a real job with a degree of accountability.

Not happening.

Hard to imagine that Michelle would enjoy presiding over the Senate or attending state funerals.

I can just about guarantee you that Biden will select his bedside lamp as his running mate.

Lurker21 said...

Of course, Michelle Obama isn't "brilliant," if you're talking about intellectual capacity. Biden does have an out in that the word can be interpreted in different ways. About the senior thesis -- I did notice at least one grammatical error. The main problem is that it's written in sociologuese. How different is it from the average college sociology paper?

The reason we don't have the grades of either Obama is that politicians don't release their grades. McCain's standing at West Point was a matter of public record. Kerry's grades were in the military files he released to the public. Bush's were leaked to the public by somebody at Yale. Making grades and class standing public is a no-win move for a politician. Too low, too high, too average - in politics it can only hurt you.

That's not fair to Oprah. She worked hard to build her brand from nothing.

Maillard Reactionary said...

Unknown: I have to admit you have a point. But once Oprah was through building her brand, etc.--which was a significant effort over many years--she was content to pretty much retire. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but she was as I recall in no hurry to be drafted as the standard leader for the Democrat party. Though that could easily be interpreted as sound sense, rather than a lack of ambition.

Michelle, on the other hand, was coattails and handouts all the way.

One thing they do seem to have in common is a confident belief in their own given wisdom. (Kind of like me and my confident belief in my opinions...)

Lead story on 2/7/2021

White House: In a tragic development, President Biden, driven into deep depression by the pressures and burdens of the newly won Presidency, took his own life today. He is said to have fired more than 16 bullets into his own head and chest, pausing only twice to reload.

Vice President Michelle Obama took the oath of office immediately. She was a witness to the shooting. She remarked "It was a terrible and tragic end to a great, great man. Sad but also somehow inspiring to witness his terrible determination to end his own life."

Former President Obama was on the scene almost immediately to offer his wife assistance. "I'm available to be almost a co-president for Michelle until she gains experience, however long that takes".

The current President Obama graciously accepted his offer and as a first assignment, asked him to undertake a long needed rebuilding of the DC sewer system. She suggested he start with an inspection "Personally, minutely, and interiorly."
