Joe Biden, the tough guy, mixing it up with the hard hats.

My biggest criticism? He's not taking coronavirus seriously! They're right up in each other's faces.

"Joe was always a humble man"

Man, the paid trolls are out in force.

Biden's stealing a page from Trump's playbook here. The in-your-face insult ensures front-page coverage, and it beefs up his tough guy image. This is an emotional-level appeal to Trump's blue collar demographic that respects blunt language.

You can't pull off the tough guy thing when you're 78. You just can't.

"Paul Ryan lost a debate to this guy."

No, he didn't.

Original Mike,

But with these things, perception creates a reality all its own. Biden was widely seen to have dominated Ryan.

I really did think Ryan lost, but maybe I was giving outsized importance to the counter proliferation issue. Ryan was criticizing the Obama admin over Iran. Biden assured us that even if Iran got together enough fissile material, they didn’t have a bomb [a viable design, I guess] to put it in!

He was loud and forceful and Ryan had no rebuttal. He was also full of shit, and while I didn’t expect Ryan to be a nuclear SME, if you’re going to go on the attack on this issue, you should know enough to destroy that absurd deflection easily. I thought it was pathetic. - and emblematic.

It’s foolish to focus on the phraseology to describe guns, gun parts, ammunition and so on, described by democrats. They can call them floozlesticks, but the sentiment behind it is the same. Those that want to get rid of guns don’t care and can’t tell the difference between a nuncump and fordinck.

People didn’t vote for trump because he is angry and in your face. That is what was needed to rock the established political nastiness, combined with his American business and people friendly policies (at the time, untested, of course). I have a feeling that a lot of Democrats are going to equate the Biden nastiness with Trump. They just don’t get it. It shows how horrible they actually are - and play whatever it takes to get their way.

I keep seeing the comparison (shills praising Biden's "toughness"/bullying). They don't notice that Trump gets nasty with other politicians, Biden gets nasty with voters.

Joe's going to have Beto lead with the gun issue. Nothing for these auto workers to fear.

If things look really bad for Trump he might go for a Hail Mary pass, otherwise I suspect neither Trump nor Biden will want a debate. Not sure if it is possible for them to avoid at least one debate.

Are you on crack? You don't think Trump wants to debate Biden, on a stage, with a live audience, and full media coverage? Seriously, put down the crack pipe...

That is because they only see that "Trump gets nasty with his enemies" and in their minds any voters that questions them are THEIR enemies so it is OK [to them] that Biden gets nasty with those voters and they see that as "just like Trump". Just more confirmation bias.

I was impressed with guy. He was on , I believe, Fox and Friends, and was quite articulate, for a construction union gun. Far from the grunts that you (or the left) might expect of him. His bottom line was that if you talk about banning esp long guns (that statistically are almost never used in homicides), you are going to lose a lot of the working class. Banning “assault weapons” is nonsensical from a public safety point of view. It is purely symbolic, and unlikely to save a single life lost to murder, including mass shootings. And purely symbolic gestures, like banning “assault weapons”, with no real improvement in public safety, is a pretty egregious violation of the fundamental, enumerated, right to keep and bear arms. This is firmly believed by probably a distinct majority of the White working class. Doubling down, Biden publicly promised anti-gun zealot Beta O’Roarke that he would be in charge of disarming the American populace. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Trump will only need one ad for the campaign, and it should be a montage of Biden's own words

If this particular strategy worked Trump would never have been elected.

I really am impressed at your ability to double down on stupid, ARM. Trump's "problem" was that he said things you didn't want said.

Biden's problem is that his mind really isn't there. Starting to quote the preamble from the Declaration of Independence, and getting lost while still in the first sentence?

That's a problem.

So, you keep f'ing that thicken. But it's going to be a long time until November for you

This is an bunch of betas or gammas trying to pretend they are alphas

Trump hits people who try to hit him. He's an alpha

Biden hits people who disagree with him, or ask him a hard question. Because he's a pathetic beta who can't handle actual conflict, or challenge, or competition.

Trump treats his enemies like enemies. This upsets the Democrats, because they think only they are allowed to do that.

Democrats treat anyone who disagrees with them as an enemy. There's a difference
