Snow melting means global warming. This is evidence that the world is going to end in 12 years.

UV light breaks down viruses and shortens their active life outside the human body though so it isn't all bad.

At least we wont all die from corona virus before we get to die from global warming.

And if we elect a democrat president we will all be saved!

Has LLR-lefty Chuck ever come up with that example of Trump physically threatening, by name, political opponents?

He assured us Trump had and that conservatives lacked the morality and integrity to call out Trump for, well, apparently, a non-existent threat.

Well, we are still waiting for that example. I sure hope the only thing delaying Chuck in his response is work load and not, like, coronavirus.

I'm horrified by this news out of St. Louis. A woman recovered a cell phone stolen by her 15 year old neighbor, a Somali refugee. The boy attacked her, nearly killed her, and was released because his IQ is only 49 and thus he cannot cooperate in his defense in court. The boy is a clear and present danger to his neighbors, and if jail is the wrong place for him then he needs to be locked up someplace else.

Examples:
- a T-shirt that says, "Joe & Amy & Beto & Pete. And me. Beat Trump."
- a button that says, "Folks." That's it, just "Folks."
- other buttons: "God Love Ya." "Here's the Deal." "Honest to Goodness."
- both a button and a cup cooler with a picture of Biden as a very young man (which made me instantly think of how old he looks now).
- a "No Malarkey" mug that changes color.

Honestly, it reminds me of the Jeb! campaign. And we know how much fun Trump had with that.

Indeed. The obama admin never should have changed the rules for test kit development from multiple labs all the way down to just one lab, controlled completely by the federal govt...with all the "efficiency" of the Post Office.

So its a good thing last week the Trump administration changed the rules back to the Pre-obama/biden rules which now allows many new organizations and labs to rapidly develop test kits so that the US will no longer be so slow to respond.

Thank you President Trump. We all know it will certainly take more than 4 years to correct all the mistakes of the dems who are desperately hoping for tens of thousands of deaths so the OrangeManBad will go away, so its on to 4 More Years!

Tell ya what will happen. Store gonna charge you for a thicker bag. At first, everybody will treat the bags with care and bring them back to use on next shopping trip. Frequently, bag left in car, so ya buy another bag or two or three. After a while cost of bag is just accepted by most people and they end up in trash, just like before.

That is the California experience. Personally, I keep a free sturdy banana box from Costco in the trunk. Bring shopping cart full of stuff from store to car and put in the box, carry box into house..

I saw Marriage Story on Netflix. It got good reviews and had Scarlet Johansson, so why not. I got through it in one try, but it's relentlessly downbeat. Scarlet doesn't play a vinyl vixen with superpowers, but rather a talented actress who wants to be known for something more than a great body. Her husband, Adam Driver, is a talented and intense off Broadway director who appreciates and nurtures her talents as an actress but doesn't understand her needs and ambitions as a woman. You get to watch two hours of their marriage falling apart.....I'd much rather see Scarlet Johansson playing a vinyl vixen with superpowers, but you can't always get what you want....The actors and director were all divorced, and I guess the movie dramatizes the trauma of their divorces. It should be titled Beverly Hills Divorce Story. You might think that good looking people with lots of money and interesting jobs don't suffer, but this movie will set you straight. I've rarely seen such anguish and sorrow. I hope Hollywood continues to make movies that dramatize the plight and pains of those in the entertainment industry. We're better people after seeing such movies.

I can, for instance, say I greatly appreciated Jimmy Carters recommended govt reforms and, in particular, his ideas for zero-based budgeting. Great ideas really.

Besides, Bernie had already significantly modified his populist positions to suit the dem base in order to run in their party, primarily on immigration.

Bernie had spent the previous several decades recognizing the obvious: open borders crushes the wages for those workers at the lowest rung of the work ladder.

“As concerns about the lack of testing capacity have grown, Trump administration officials have repeatedly suggested that policies put in place during the Obama presidency slowed the authorization for private labs run by companies, universities and hospitals. But a former senior FDA official rejected that claim.

“The law gives the agency the ability to tailor its response in an emergency, which is what we did and is what FDA should be doing now,” said Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, an FDA official during the Obama administration who is now a vice dean at the Johns Hopkins-Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Traditionally, the FDA has not regulated tests developed by private labs. During the Obama administration, some public health experts expressed concerns about the lack of oversight of genetic tests for high-risk diseases and conditions. The agency drafted a proposal to oversee some of those tests, but it was never implemented. And it did not apply to the agency's powers during public health emergencies.”

Hardly. It's just something very visible that he likes to reference because everyone can see it. He certainly does NOT talk about that as much as he talks about employment/unemployment/wages.

Gallup shows 90% of people think their lives will be better in the coming year. The dems have to come up with something to attack that with something other than "you are all just idiots and don't realize how bad your lives really are".

That's where, I think, Bernie would have been more effective.

I do indeed think Bernie would have been a tougher out for Trump specifically because I think Bernie plays better in the upper industrial midwest.

Biden is going to come riding in representing the "3rd term of obama" but Trump won because he flipped so very many of those 2-time and 1-time obama voters in those regions....for a reason.

And those voters appear to have solidified behind Trump...at least up to now (anything can change).

True.

But it's possible that reason was "Hillary," an idiotic pussy witch who was too fucking chicken to even campaign there because her brain fart trust told her it would activate more Trump support against her than pro-Hillary votes.

First off, these are thousand point swings in a much higher market and thus represent a lower % of the total. A thousand point swing in 2000 (a 10,000 market) would represent something far greater.

And yeah, the market is skittish due to the EU recession (Germany/France are both in real economic trouble), the China slowdown and its impacts to US businesses.

Think of all the tourism/travel/entertainment businesses being slammed because of the virus.

The fed didn't help by Powell and crew holding US interest rates 4 times higher than the rest of the industrialized West and then suddenly dropping 50 basis points and signalling even more.

Joe was facing away from the crowd and frozen and Jill could be heard (while putting her hands firmly on him): "you're okay.....you're okay....) with Joe not saying anything.

It will be interesting to see how his handlers handle him going forward.

I think this is one of the key reasons the DNC crapped all over Tulsi again (besides her being a super secret russian agent, right Inga?), they didn't want to add complexity to a reduced dem debate stage where Tulsi would be challenging Biden's record on wars and corporate corruption, etc.

Anyway, if I were the dem brain trust setting up the Biden Campaign for the post-convention, I would already suspect that Trump will not go along with all the debate formats that other republicans agreed to: debates led by dem activist journalists who clearly coordinate their questions with the dem narratives.

So here's what I would do in my machiavellian way: I would craft debate proposals that are even MORE in the dems favor than usual knowing that Trump is more than confident enough to tell me to go pound sand. Skyclad (Fate's Anvil Book 1)
by Scott Browder

Fresh off of finding out her boyfriend is cheating on her (with the co-worker whose shift she is covering!), Morgan Mackenzie decides that a night on the town would be about right, and good revenge. Unfortunately, as she cleans up before dressing to the nines, her bathtub falls through an interdimensional rift leaving her stranded, naked (but for her loofah), in a very hostile alien forest. Luckily, her bathtub drops on a nest of Giant Eagles leading to her first communication from "The System" that rules her new world:

She still held her loofah scrubby in one hand, and raised it to her face in a partially successful attempt to mask the stench of the nest with the familiar smells of her favorite body wash products. She looked around in confusion, battling through the sheer shock and surprise of her situation to try to make some sort of sense out of where she was. Her confusion was promptly renewed, though, as within moments of her landing she felt rather than heard a chiming DING! inside her head, followed immediately by two more sensations, exactly the same as the first. Just as she opened her mouth to blindly repeat her utterance, her attention was stolen by ethereal silvery text spilling itself across the center of her sight.

You have defeated [Giant Eagle Hatchling (Lvl - 1)]

+40 experience gained.

You have defeated [Giant Eagle Hatchling (Lvl - 2)]
For earning your victory while [Naked] and [Unequipped], experience gain doubled.
+70 experience gained.

As an increasingly confused Morgan gazed slack-jawed at the words superimposed over her vision, they quickly began to fade. As several extremely un-ladylike expletives exploded into the silent trees, an even more intense DING! slammed into her mind like a gold and silver starburst.

You have reached Level 2! Health and Status partially restored!

For reaching this milestone while [Naked] and [Unequipped], rewarded points doubled.

10 distributable Stat Points awarded.
10 Skill Points awarded.

Skill purchases unlocked! (Check available skills through your Status Menu)

As interesting as she found these new messages, Morgan didn't have time to properly consider the information.

This is a good but somewhat frustrating book. From the Amazon blurb, I was expecting a romp. It's not a romp. While the situation is set up with dry humor, that surfaces a number of times during the narrative, it's not a sex comedy, and Morgan's leveling-up along the path of naked combat on which she finds herself is preparation for the serious task of liberating her new world from the bane of mind slavery: The biggest offense against The System because it deprives an individual of a personal story, and Story is The System's highest value.

The frustrating part of the book is that it is largely concerned with bringing Morgan up-to-speed, before putting her in touch with the other important characters, including several more world-walkers from our reality. This is interlarded with repetitive (though often breezily humorous) messages from The System, and a series of solo triumphs that don't really advance the overall plot. The segments we get from the Oracle and the other world-walkers are much tighter and run through *their* System interactions at much less length. In the end, the book's strengths do outweigh the slow build and we do end the book with all the players on the table, and I expect the next installment (which I will pick up) to get moving a bit quicker.

Ha!

I actually know something about this as extended family members happen to work for a large and well known potato chip maker in the midwest.

The bags are packed to full at the factory and then the jostling about as they enter the distribution chain causes a few to break and all of them to "settle" deeper into the bag making it seem as though the bags are too big for the volume of chips.

Not to worry though! Packed by weight.

HoaxPPT: "The rest of what you wrote is long, and I have even less Ritalin in my system than Trump. And you know how much he doesn't like to read anyway."

LOL No worries.

But as for reading, let me draw your attention to this, written long before Trump was a republican candidate and, thus, simply reporting what they saw.

From the LA Times in 2011:

https://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2011/05/donald-trump-i-understand-the-chinese-mind.html

"Donald Trump recently reeled off an impressive list of Chinese books that he has read over the years that has helped him understand the nation and people that he does business with.

"I've read hundreds of books about China over the decades," Trump told Xinhua, the official news agency of the People's Republic of China.

"I know the Chinese. I've made a lot of money with the Chinese. I understand the Chinese mind," said the billionaire, who has continually stated that if he were president he would levy a 25% tax on Chinese imports.

Asked to name any of his favorite tomes on China, Trump reportedly listed the following 20 books right off the top of his head.

1. "The Party" by Richard McGregor
2. "On China" by Henry Kissinger
3. "Mao: The Untold Story" by Jung Chang
4. "Tide Players" by Jianying Zha
5. "One Billion Customers" by James McGregor
6. "The Coming China Wars" by Peter W. Navarro
7. "The Beijing Consensus" by Stefan Halper
8. "China CEO" by Juan Antonio Fernandez and Laurie Underwood
9. "Poorly Made in China" by Paul Midler
10. "CHINA: Portrait of a People" by Tom Carter
11. "The Man Who Loved China" by Simon Winchester
12. "China Shakes the World" by James Kynge
13. "Mr. China" by Tim Clissold
14. "Country Driving" by Peter Hessler
15. "The Dragon's Gift" by Deborah Brautigam
16. "Factory Girls" by Leslie T. Chang
17. "The Heavenly Man" by Brother Yun
18. "1421" by Gavin Menzies
19. "Seven Years in Tibet" by Heinrich Harrer
20. "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" by Amy Chua"

Further, you can go and pull up Trump appearances on Letterman and other shows in the 90's where Trump spends time speaking about the threat of China and what it means to the US.

Trump figured out where he stood and did his "reading" and discovery over decades and he's long known what he wants to do so now, it's simply a matter of adapting a bit here and there and executing on his vision.

This is not unlike corporate executives who have a very strong vision of where they want to take the organization.
