Let's ASK!

What are you going to say that you'll do?

About 1/6 of voters buy when Bernie is selling. Even if he becomes president he gets nothing passed in Congress. We are the last nation on earth that will go socialist. Not even Obama With his cult following and as promoted by the Newsweek cover could do that. No, we are not all socialists now. The establishment people like Rubin are worried about not reacquiring power and prestige, that is all. If they fret about socialism it is only because they know Bernie prevents them from achieving their true goal.

Chuck said...

“The Principled Conservative Case for Bernie Sanders” might go something like this; absolutely nothing that Sanders has proposed legislatively will get through Congress. And a Sanders campaign for president will be so destructive to the Democrats’ tough Senate races, that Bernie won’t even be able to significantly alter the makeup of the federal judiciary. A presidency about nothing. Nothing apart from it being “not Trump.” And of course “not Trump” would be a good thing for the future of the USA.

But that “case” is for naught. Because Sanders would not beat Trump in a 2-way general election. Not unless Trump’s personal, mental, neurological deterioration progresses with more rapidity. And that is a real possibility.

Here we go -

"Sweden’s Board of Health and Welfare"

This is after the "1500% increase" since 2008:

"In 2018, a total of just under 6,000 people, 0.6 per cent of the population, had any gender dysphoria diagnosis in Sweden."

and also

"Many people diagnosed with gender dysphoria also have a high incidence of several other psychiatric diagnoses. Common are autism [gender dysphoria is a symptom of autism - ed], depression and anxiety disorders. It shows a survey of prevalence, simultaneous psychiatric diagnoses and the development of gender dysphoria over time, which the National Board of Health today publishes."

and

"The survey shows that people with gender dysphoria are at higher risk of dying in suicide than the general population. But it also shows that people with other psychiatric diagnoses are at even higher risk of suicide than people with gender dysphoria."

I thought that there was some sympathetic feeling between TrumpWorld and the Bernie Bros. I’m quite serious about this. I don’t think that Meade was 100% joking when he suggested a Trump-Sanders ticket as his dream. No one needs to lecture me on what policy nonsense that is. I’ve been wondering about Obama-then-Trump voters for the last three years.

I just thought that anti-establishment sentiment, hatred of mostly all political party leaders, and simplistic non-solutions drove both factions. The triumph of a mere plurality of fanatics. Ironically given space within the political parties which they hate.

If Bernie cannot recreate the Obama turn out he will lose worse bigly. Not a Mondale loss but a Dukakis/Romney loss.

The establishment took its shot with Hillary and then Mueller. Despite having Schumer’s “8 ways from Sunday” to take down Trump they failed. Neither trump supporters nor Bernie supporters trust the old powers. There will be tantrums as they lose more power.

The Republicans will do barely just enough to prevent another 1929 - it's true, but 2008 shows how close to the line they will play it. And Sanders won't need to do anything as drastic as FDR, either.

But he will call them out and castrate them of their corrupt, cronyism. Which is all we really need to do. And also to recalibrate closer to what FDR achieved and made as the status quo for at least 15 years after his death - the same timeframe that Trump and his followers hearken back to as some golden era of greatness.

It would make sense if the problem was progressive cost and intrinsic, personal deficits, but given innovation and development, given that Nature is "not diverse" (i.e. individually-oriented), the problems are progressive prices and bad choices, which could be solved through forced dislocation (e.g. single/central/monopolistic solutions), a great leap as it were, or through adaptive, organic, democratic (not affiliated with Democrats) market processes. Mortal gods in secular theologies, especially combined with a pro-choice religion, are invariably the wrong choice.

Sanders isn't a socialist, he's a fascist.

Look, socialism is a policy of social organization which aims at or advocates the ownership and control of the means of production (capital, land, etc.) by the community as a whole. If you're not talking about making the means of production publicly-owned, you're not a socialist, and Bernie Sanders is quite adamant that he's not advocating nationalization. He accordingly is not a socialist of any kind or stripe, "democratic" or otherwise.

Rather, Sanders advocates a larger government role in the economy, giving labor unions lots of seats on corporate boards, and the like. This approach, where nominal ownership of capital remains in the hands of capitalists, but control of capital is split among owners, workers, and the government, is called corporatism.

And corporatism was the economic policy of Benito Mussolini, the founder and definer of fascism, who explicitly said "fascism is corporatism".

Accordingly, Bernie Sanders is, correctly, precisely, and exactly described as a fascist. As are his supporters.

And yet the Trumpkins here ("Trumpkins" is used disparagingly on purpose) nevertheless speculate about how it is "possible" that Rubin might still have "voted for Obama." No evidence whatsoever that she "voted for Obama," other than that she now avowedly hates Trump.

This is such a big thing for me. It crystallizes the moronic stubbornness of the Trumpkins. No contention is too stupid, in the service of trying to define Trumpism as "conservative." Any/all criticism of Trump is in the service of "leftists."

This is why I hate you Trumpkins so much. Why I have such contempt for you. We can't even agree on fundamental, indisputable facts. And I'm not a total fan of Jennifer Rubin. Neddless to say all three have already come out gleefully as pro-socialist voters because....it wasnt a very long journey for them to take, was it?

Says Jen “I didn't die"

She has inexplicably turned her back on lots of conservative actions/initiatives, seemingly for no other reason than that Trump supports those actions/initiatives.

I know, right? That would be like someone who pretends to be conservative endorsing Mike Bloomberg (noted debate-slayer of Mark Green) and his profound respect for the second amendment. Too ridiculous to consider.

I am going to make this easy for you, Chuck, since you are as big a dolt as Rubin. Here is what you wrote about her:

"She has inexplicably turned her back on lots of conservative actions/initiatives, seemingly for no other reason than that Trump supports those actions/initiatives."

Inexplicable you say, but I say it is just the case that she is now free to express her inner progressive because of who now writes her paychecks. A person of firm principle doesn't abandon state policy preference because someone they dislike advocates for them. So, we face choice in explaining Rubin's sudden change- either she never believed in the things for which she advocated, or Trump has caused her to batshit crazy. Of those two explanations, I find it more likely the former is the correct one- that in the past she was simply writing what her employers were paying her to write, and is now doing the exact same thing for her WaPo employer. In other words, I think she has been a mercenary essayist the entire time.

Consider, Chuck, how valuable the Left thinks maverick "Republicans" are. When they are in Congress, the Leftist media expend all kinds compliments and good coverage as long as those mavericks don't threaten their power base- see John McCain and Mitt Romney. When they are pundits, the Leftist media simply write their paychecks with their former employers/readers abandon them. They get to continue to write for money as long as they become nuanced "conservatives" who can make a case for supporting Democratic and progressive policy initiatives and candidates for all offices.

In other words, Chuck, the conversative movement was filled with a lot intellectual whores whose Johns abandoned them after 2016. They now get to suck the cocks of Jeff Bezos, George Soros, Tom Steyer, Mike Bloomberg, and whoever is paying your bills these days.

This was Trump's big power- the ability to cause his enemies to tear off their own masks and expose themselves for what they always were.

Admittedly, the unadulterated joy Drago takes in eliciting such stupid Chuckservatism is the primary reason I keep coming back to this blog.

What I said was that I thought that the claim made on this page, that Jennifer Rubin “voted for Obama” was false. And not one of you worthless shit heads has shown me a shred of evidence that she did vote for Obama.

Don’t try to tell me what you think of Jennifer Rubin; I don’t care. I’m not looking for a debate. I don’t wish for any community, or even any mutual communication, with any of you.

I do know that many of you just hate it when I am right, at the expense of some random Trumpist thing being wrong. And that’s pretty much all that I care about. Being right. And Trump’s being wrong. I don’t want to build anything with any of you. I can scarcely believe I share a party identity with some of you.

Here's Rubin in 2008:

"By comparison, John McCain is running as a conventional conservative. He at least is interested in border security first. He has offered a no-new-taxes position. He will stay in Iraq as long as needed to achieve a stable, functioning state which does not harbor terrorists. He will appoint conservative judges. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Second Amendment by signing on to the Congressional amicus brief to the Supreme Court urging the District of Columbia handgun ban be struck down."

LoL! John McCain was a "Conventional conservative" - she's always been a FAKE. Or should i say, a total CON.

LOL

You have zero evidence she voted for any republican. Ever.

And you never will....

Prove Rubin voted republican in those years.

Prove. It.

We won't hold our breath....

And Trump’s being wrong.

Which doesn’t happen all that often, either.

I don’t want to build anything with any of you.

Well now you’ve just broken my poor heart.

I can scarcely believe I share a party identity with some of you.

Well you don’t share a party identity with me. I’m a Republican.

I’ll do no such thing. I won’t lift a finger for any of you. One of you claimed that Jennifer Rubin “voted for Obama.” I rather patiently pointed out her public, published views in 2008 and 2012, which were all consistent with her other published policy positions at the time. No one here has any evidence to suggest that she “voted for Obama.”

All that I am going to do now is laugh at all of you. At what a simple thing it would have been, to confess that error in presuming who Rubin voted for.

And after, I’ll laugh some more at what an audience Althouse has collected.

"About 1/6 of voters buy when Bernie is selling. Even if he becomes president he gets nothing passed in Congress. We are the last nation on earth that will go socialist. Not even Obama With his cult following and as promoted by the Newsweek cover could do that."

Hahahaha! Some people never learn. Obama, a socialist? He was the Wall Street candidate, and his Cabinet was filled with ex-Wall Streeters. He was a loyal vassal to the bankers and financiers who crashed the economy, and an enthusiastic commander in chief of America's criminal wars abroad.
