"'Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him'... it's not only him, it's the culture around him. It's his leadership team. It's his prominent supporters. It's his online Bernie Bros..."

"... and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women. And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it. And I don't think we want to go down that road again where you campaign by insult and attack and maybe you try to get some distance from it, but you either don't know what your campaign and supporters are doing or you're just giving them a wink and you want them to go after Kamala [Harris] or after Elizabeth [Warren]. I think that that's a pattern that people should take into account when they make their decisions.... Then this argument about whether or not or when he did or didn't say that a woman couldn't be elected, it's part of a pattern. If it were a one-off, you might say, 'OK, fine.' But he said I was unqualified. I had a lot more experience than he did, and got a lot more done than he had, but that was his attack on me. I just think people need to pay attention because we want, hopefully, to elect a president who's going to try to bring us together, and not either turn a blind eye, or actually reward the kind of insulting, attacking, demeaning, degrading behavior that we've seen from this current administration."

Said Hillary Clinton, quoted in "Hillary Clinton in Full: A Fiery New Documentary, Trump Regrets and Harsh Words for Bernie: "Nobody Likes Him'" (Hollywood Reporter). The quote within the quote — "Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him" — is from the documentary. The rest is from the Hollywood Reporter interview.

ADDED: She's talking about Bernie the way Democrats talk about Trump.

AND: Nobody likes you is a classic childhood taunt.

PLUS: How much do you care whether the politicians like each other? Does that benefit Us the People or is their inwardly directed cliquishness a danger? Do they like us?

I think it's safe to say that there's far more people who genuinely like Bernie than Hillary. People put up with Hillary when they thought that she could win, but there was really never much enthusiasim for her outside a few hardcore devotees. And what better way to bring people together than by attacking the other side of insulting, degrading behavior.

"How much do you care whether the politicians like each other?"

I don't, but then, I am a man. Since more women are into feelings, they care more about whether politicians like each other. In particular, they care about whether female politicians like how male politicians treat them.

You would have a hard time culling out the politicians that don't suck, from any random group of politicians.

Politicians used to tell you what they thought, believed, and believed in. If enough people felt the same way, they won the day. That morphed over time to politicians telling people what he/she thought they wanted to hear with a politician's commitment to a position now only [barely] being surface deep. It is now all about getting elected and getting power. Not standing up for your core beliefs that are shared by a majority of your constituents. The only core beliefs most politicians seem to have is in their own right to power. Sad.

Good question. The answer is: it depends on the reason why they don't like the person

The GOP politicians didn't like Ted Cruz. Why? Because he didn't want to let them get away with the normal kabuki where they screwed over the GOP base, while carry on with their own grifting. This is why I supported Cruz in 2016 after Walker and Perry dropped out

OTOH, if they don't like someone because (s)he's just an asshole? If the person would otherwise advance your agenda, but can't, because they piss off everyone they need to work with, they're a waste of your vote.

If they're a jerk to "the little people" around them (see Senator Amy), that IMHO is a solid reason to vote against them.

I know some people who supported Bernie. Family members etc.

I am going to let them know that it is completely unacceptable at this point to support Bernie Sanders.

Enough of his staffers support gulags and mass murder that it is clear he does too.

History is clear on the results of socialism.

Anyone who supports Bernie Sanders at this point is intending widespread violence and suppression.

What struck me about this is that Mrs. Clinton’s language sounds much like how the mainstream of the GOP talks about Trump. Privately, of course. With a modicum of understanding.

Althouse mentioned “How Democrats talk about Trump.” But Democrats don’t care about the GOP. They hate all Republicans. They wouldn’t distinguish between a Reagan or a Bush or a Trump.

AOC justifying the left's intention to murder their opponents and take their stuff:

“Well, you didn’t make those widgets, did you?” Ocasio-Cortez began. “Because you employed thousands of people and paid them less than a living wage to make those widgets for you. You didn’t make those widgets.”

“You sat on a couch while thousands of people were paid modern day slave wages, and in some cases real slave, real modern-day slavery, uh, depending on where you are in terms of food production,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed. “You made that money off the backs of undocumented people. You made that money off the backs of black and brown people being paid under a living wage.”

“You made that money off the backs of single mothers and all these people who are literally dying because they can’t afford to live and so no one ever makes a billion dollars,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “You take a billion dollars and all of that to say, is that it’s, and I’m not here to villainize and to say that billionaires are inherently morally corrupt – but they are, I mean, I think there is a case, but um, but, it’s not to say that, it’s to say that this system that we live in, life in capitalism, always ends in billionaires. If you don’t do it, someone else will. It’s who decides to make that choice is just kind of up to, you know, circumstance.”

“I think the part of it that is generational is that millennials and people, in Gen Z, and all these folks that come after us are looking up and we’re like, the world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” Ocasio-Cortez said without evidence. “And your biggest issue, your biggest issue is how are going to pay for it? — and like this is the war, this is our World War II.”

Yancey and I got into this a few days ago. I'm still strongly in the brokered convention camp. Right now who's the frontrunner- Biden? Yet in Iowa he's struggling to maintain the 15 percent threshold. Still getting 10 percent in any polls are Sanders, Warren, Bootiekeg, Klobuchar. Bloomerg's at eight or nine. It's looking like without help from the MAS three of them could stick around, and Bloomberg and Steyer has no incentive to drop out if that's the case. Entirely plausible the incentives to drop out are low and half a dozen make it to the first ballot. Now add some narrative massaging from the media and deep state if necessary. It opens the door open for Hillary, who doesn't even have to campaign...

He is not just a harmless old man. He is dangerous to the extreme.

He is a true ideologue. Uncompromising and dogmatic. When people who are like this get in charge they are going to implement their personal vision of how life should be, how people must conform. No thoughts or cares for the actual consequences of their actions.

True ideologues have no pity, empathy or emotional connection to the people who are affected by their own "pure" vision. They are dangerous and deadly.

In addition: Bernie is surrounded by a cadre of other pure ideologues. People who want gulags, re education camps and want to eliminate anyone who disagrees with their ideology. They want purges to create that purity that they want.

The Chinese Cultural Revolution where millions of people suffered and died can easily be replicated if we allow ideologues such as these to gain control.

I agree that it is dangerous to condone or allow politicians to use their position for personal graft, corruption and to become rich off the backs of complacent voters.

Graft and corruption is nothing new. The Clintons and the Bidens are a prime example. Corruption knows no party sides either. However, that danger is more of a moral one and isn't always going to be lethal to others.

A Bernie Bro led cultural revolution is more than just a morality issue. It can be something that we haven't seen in this country since the Civil War. American Citizens fighting to the death over ideology. One side putting the other into concentration/prison camps (as happened in the Civil War). Families and neighbors fighting, dying and torn apart.

Something like this isn't just your common ordinary venality. It is a process that will tear the fabric of the country apart.

I doubt it would actually come to that level. However, the potential is there...IF we let it happen.

Ironically, Bill, politicians on opposing sides often do get along on a personal level. What you're saying is that you want them to 'get along' with each other on the issues. That's not likely nor is it necessarily desirable. Certainly, compromise is an important part of statesmanship but, other than putting America first in their agenda, I don't see the need for agreement.

A viable third party would be welcome, however. IMO, Trump is really a 'third party' President hated by both sides but loved by many constituents.

From Wikipedia:

In the closed caucuses, candidates must meet a viability threshold of 15 percent within an individual precinct in order to be considered viable, with supporters of non-viable candidates then allowed to transfer their support to one of the remaining viable candidates or merge with another non-viable group in order to become viable.

So what we're essentially looking at here is "ranked choice voting" + pigheadedness. IOW, at an individual caucus you could have 10% Warren, 8% Bernie (or vice versa) and have the 8% join the 10%, or else tell the 10% "we hate your candidate. Come support us, or we're staying here (voting none of the above, but driving up the number of people needed for 15%) / leaving / switching to Biden / Kobucher / someone else".

It makes me want to attend, just to observe the group political interactions.

@DBQ - I pretty much agree completely with your assessment of Bernie Sanders. I also think he's very dangerous. Everything he has said and done strongly indicates that he's a true believer, an extreme idealogue for hard core Socialism and perhaps even straight communism (although I highly doubt he would ever admit to that). I can't say if he's just an utter idiot or a completely morally bankrupt villian or some combination of both, but either way he should be kept as far away as possible from any real power.

That he has so many young people ensorcelled is somewhat depressing and a little frightening too. Those two recent Project Veritas leaks confirm that he attracts some extremely dangerous sorts, characters who extole the virtues of gulags and violent revolution among other things.

I'd probably even choose Warren over Bernie (although it would be like choosing between some form of cancer and full blown AIDS).

Maybe I'm a hopeless optimist but I still believe that if Bernie ends up being the Dem nominee that it'll be a bloodbath for the Dems with Trump ending up easily winning not just the electoral college but also the popular vote by a large amount.
