"My friend works as an extra in movies and does stock photography.... just saw him pictured as a sex offender on a bus in Florida."

A Reddit post, with a photograph of the bus.

From the comments: "This is... like Joey from Friends having his face used on the poster for venereal disease and he comes across it at the subway station when he’s hitting on a girl... 'What is Mario not telling you?' Or something like that."

The "Friends" video is located:

Am I the only one who's never watched Friends?

Nope, there’s at least two of us.

I want to know if this person makes a *living* as an extra. My husband has floated this as a retirement job for us.

The WAPO Calling a boy a racist Nazi for wearing a MAGA hat and being yelled at by a bunch of actual progressive Nazi's is the same thing but with malice.

If you like Matt LeBlanc, the show "Episodez" was pretty funny. He actually plays himself in it in a seriously self deprecating way.

The show Friends was meh IMO. A few were good but it was pushing what passed for the SJW line in those days pretty hard. Naturally by today's standards it's horribly unwoke, which you'd think would serve as a warning to those who think toeing the SJW line today is a wise move, but... no. You won't even be the last to be eaten.

Er, "Episodes", sorry.

Anyway, couple of years ago, was showing peripheral with young children how to access sex offenders site. Brought up her neighborhood in Arizona. "Hey I know that guy, he goes to our church!"

We have retired neighbors here near Albubuerque, NM who work as extras. They do it for fun, to keep busy and enjoy the food. He has an old truck and the movie people like to use it more then them, and it gets a better rate. Me and my wife are thinking about trying it this year after I retire. Bit not to make a living. He said they made maybe $10k. But really, more of a hoody for them.

He said there are three groups of extras. People trying to break into the business. Locals who really need the money. And people like them.

I was an extra in a film once. You have never heard of the film (Eye of the Hunter), and you should thank your luck stars that you have not. It was truly excreble. Double execreble. It was so bad I couldn't even watch the entire thing. I think it premiered on TV on Easter in 1981 -- that was a week after my sister died. Maybe that influenced my opinion of the film. Nah -- it was truly terrible.

F: I do remember Night of the Hunter, a very suspenseful and well-directed film with Robert Mitchum as the villain who chases two children down the river after killing their mother [IIRC].

River, check. Raft, check. Not sure about the flood.

And Mitchum has L-O-V-E and H-A-T-E tattooed on knuckles.

Reminds me of the Latina woman used on the Obamacare website.

Night of the Hunter was also a 1991 TV movie starring Richard Chamberlain.

Night of the Hunter was the one and only movie directed by Charles Laughton. Yes, that Charles Laughton. It's an exceptional movie.

Another Friends virgin, so that makes six.

JML nailed it on the extras lifestyle. I was an extra on "The Patriot" (stood six feet from Mel Gibson and was behind Chris Columbus when he blew the scene by yelling "Lock and load!" (Hint: They didn't say that during the Revolutionary War)

Met a couple people who hit the road as extras. They traveled like gypsys, and were hooked up in a way that gave them a reputation for reliability. They showed up, stayed sober, worked hard, and they helped keep the newbie extras in line.

They were talking about heading down to the coast after they were done here. Spielberg was filming a new movie called "Battlefield." It turned out to be "Saving Private Ryan."
