Ivanka laughed at Jane Fonda's plan to use sex as a weapon.

I'm reading "The Star Power of Jane Fonda’s Climate-Change Arrests" (The New Yorker):
After the 2016 election, Fonda was initially optimistic that Trump could be flattered into taking on the cause of battling climate change. She wanted to invite several “voluptuous” female activists (including the environmentally minded actress Pamela Anderson) to brief Trump on the dangers of relying on fossil fuels. Fonda spoke by phone to Jared Kushner, who told her to speak to Ivanka Trump, who laughed at the idea and said she’d follow up. Fonda never got to meet with Trump.
So it's okay to treat women as sex objects if it's a means to an end? This belongs in the same category as "I'd be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal" ("I" = Time correspondent Nina Burleigh, "him" = Bill Clinton).

Climate not the issue. It was the latest creative diss of Trump to score points with the tribe.

Women are in fact sex objects. Just try to be something more to the man you want to marry.

Indeed.

This is an example of why I like to say that while I have no more use for conservatives than liberals, I do have more respect for them. Conservatives have principles, at least sometimes. There are issues where they won’t compromise and will act against their own personal interests due to their beliefs. At least sometimes.

The same can’t be said for liberals.

I've been laughing at Jane for years. This fake outrage over the climate, as she flies back and forth from her California mansion?? Even if she is staying in DC. Does she walk to the protests or does a driver bring her?? Does she not use air conditioning in her homes?? She just wants publicity.

We know Jane is “Closed Up Shop Down There” but Pamela Anderson? Lot of miles on her, and they aren't highway miles. They'd have to do better than that. Ugh.

Did he say whose underwear they were getting? Because that matters quite a bit.

President Trump was never that much of a Republican, and he does like to make deals. I have wondered how much he might have been pulled to the left if Schumer and others had worked with him. Instead, the Resistance and Trump hatred started immediately upon his election, and Democrat leaders either could not stem the tide, or were too blind to see the opportunity they had. He was shoved into the arms of Mitch McConnell, and the military.

Even granting that Trump is dramatically more driven by lust than the average guy—already a questionable assertion—where on God's green earth is the evidence that lust measurably affects his decision-making process? I'm not talking about affairs; that's a pretty common "powerful man being an idiot" staple. I'm talking about business and political decisions. Decisions outside the sphere of the personal.

To me, this sounds like just a particularly striking example of projection: someone else has a mental model of what someone's lust drives them to do, and tries to manipulate them on that basis. Laughable.

"[Fonda] wanted to invite several 'voluptuous' female activists... to brief Trump on the dangers of relying on fossil fuels." Pretty obviously, Fonda's central insight into Trump's character was: "Show him a good pair of t1ts and he'll do anything you want." And that was about as acute and penetrating as most of her insights into other people's minds / world affairs / politics / etc.

Sex has influenced my decision making process on a number of occasions. To date, there has not been much cross over in my opinions regarding global warming and sex. Sex does influence my television viewing habits though. Perhaps they can have a global warming subtext in the next season of Witcher or GOT. The hot climate causes many of the women to go topless.

How could Bubba commit incest with Webb Hubble's child? I'd say she's free game for him, although well beyond her early teens, hence probably doesn't hold a lot of interest for him.

Dear Heart
It’s always been OK for women to use sex, or the promise of same, to get stuff. Try being a young supervisor, recently promoted, in an enterprise where 20% of the workforce are women. Lotta extra wiggles in the walk and compliments you didn’t hear before when you can affect promotions and perks. When they find out you don’t fool around all that stops.

Pat Benatar was one of those artists who usually did not write their own songs. (Especially not their big hits) Most of her hits were written by professional songwriters. Sex as a Weapon was written by the songwriting team of Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg. They wrote songs that were, almost exclusively, performed by women. They wrote: Like a Virgin(Madonna), True Colors(Cindi Lauper),Eternal Flame(The Bangles), So Emotional(Whitney Houston), Alone(Heart), I Touch Myself(the Divinyls) and I'll Stand by You(The Pretenders).

The 80s was my formative decade. I started college in 1979 and graduated in 1990. I was infused with 80s culture. I worked at the University AM radio station as a DJ in the early 80s. (The FM station only played classical music and had the big transmitter.) My roommate, The Sloth, was a music and film critic for the campus newspaper. I got copies of all the promotional records and I went to the movie screenings with my roommate. I lived in Los Angeles during the first part of the 80s and saw many local bands at clubs like the Whisky, The Roxy, The Rainbow, The Troubador, Garazzi's and the Starwood.

Jane Fonda, when is she going to shut up or die? How can anyone so stupid be constantly quoted about politics and news? I doubt she - or pamela Anderson - know anything about climate science or fossil fuels or the impact on the world of NOT using fossil fuels. Fonda was born a very rich Bitch and spent her whole life as a celebrity getting paid huge sums of $$$ for "acting". Plus she's always been borderline mentally ill.

Lets just kill everyone over 80. Let them go off to lonely hilltop and die. It'll relieve the tribe of the burden of caring for them. And listening to them.

I doubt it. From what little I've seen of Trump, he glories in his name and his accomplishments. Going along with the open borders, open trade, global warming scam would have made him a footnote in American history.

Instead, he's blown up the cozy relationship between the Democrats and the RINOs, turned around the economy, revealed the rot inside the top echelons of the FBI and the CIA, will probably end the war in Afghanistan, and encouraged our energy independence (at least in the short term).

There are going to be far more books written about him than Obama, which did an eight-year victory lap while his minions set fire to the country.

Back then I thought I 'served'. But that wasn't it. Jane Fonda aided and abetted the enemy during a time of war. Men were killed because of Jane Fonda. She wasn't hung, as she should have. That would have been justice. I cringe at the bints who say 'Thank you for your Service.' I didn't serve. I was spent.
