So....
The deputy got the pig cups,
but that's FINE!
'cause the chief's daughter doesn't like her dad?
MissMara needs to get over herself. Her dad didn’t get the PIG cups, someone else did. And why does the fact that she hates her dad make it ok for a Starbucks employee to use the company brand to insult the police?
All the cops I grew up with were racists as kids. Friendly enough, but still got their ya-yas out from abusing Mexicans or whoever else they thought they could get away with it. They're surprised I still remember.
I'm always surprised they forgot.
off topic: Hey Crack Emcee? I'm glad you and your sister are talking!
All the cops I grew up with were racists as kids.
Couldn't have been that you and your friends were obnoxious punks?
You've been Mr. Racism blackety-black-black now for what, your entire life?
Are you Mr. Racism blackety-black-black because you were always miserable, or are you miserable because you're Mr. Racism blackety-black-black?
The chick's foto is definitely a hot/crazy overlap.
And: nose ring, cow-style: a way of saying Daddy Issues before conveying a word.
I am Laslo.
When I was a kid, the cops were friendly and helpful. It appears that they make very few cops like that anymore. A sign of the times.
How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have a thankless child.
King Lear
He treats women like dogs, including his own daughter.
i believe the correct expression is: He treats objects like women
“I just recently learned that the employee was terminated, and this may be a bit surprising, but I would like Starbucks to reconsider,” Keifer, Oklahoma, Police Chief Johnny O’Mara told Fox News. “I’m asking for civility.”
From an earlier story at the Post. He doesn't seem so bad.
Nice quote of King Lear. I had a similar thought that this kind of reminds me of A Thousand Acres situation.
Cops in my experience are like sergeants major or Department of the Army civilians: either toxic or wonderful. I’ve never known a mediocre one, of any of those.
Crappy thing for the Starbucks employee to do. I’m glad the deputy could shrug it off as a joke (if he did), but that’s still wrong.
I’m sorry for the daughter that she goes through life with this level of bitterness toward her father. I’m sorry for the father, if he’s not a straight-up monster, that his daughter views him this way. But damn, I’d be embarrassed to air family grievances like that over the Internet.
If the deputy thought it was no big deal, just a harmless joke, and the others weren't bothered by it, how did her father hear about it? If no one cared, they would have just drunk their coffee. (I doubt the chief is in the same room as the dispatchers where he would just overhear them saying, "Haha, someone thinks we're pigs for giving up our holiday to help people in emergencies! Lol!".)
If dad is an attention whore, the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.
Friendly enough, but still got their ya-yas out from abusing Mexicans or whoever else they thought they could get away with it.
White guys are in the whoever else they thought they could get away with it category. There's straight shooters and there's ball busters and there's power trippers.
When I was a kid, the cops were friendly and helpful.
I agree that things have changed, but there are still a lot of really good guys in cop cars out there. For example, last summer I was stopped doing 10 over the limit on a city street. It was a Saturday afternoon about 5:30. I'd been changing the oil on my wife's truck and I'd gotten the wrong oil filter. Shit. So I was trying to make it back to NAPA before they closed. They aren't open on Sundays and I wanted to get finished so Linda would have her wheels. The cop asked why I was speeding so I told him.
He looked at his watch and said, I think you already missed them. But then he said, Let's see, pulled out his cell phone and called NAPA. After he hung up he said, yeah they're closed, but Vern says he'll be there a while yet and he'll help you out. Just knock on the glass when you get there. Then he told me I better get going and to drive carefully.
So I got a filter, but no ticket. That was pretty friendly and helpful. I have a couple other stories like that which come to mind now that I think about it. I didn't get pulled over those times, but both times cops went out of their way to help me out.
So what day is Starbucks going to close all their stores so they can have mandatory sensitivity training on how to check their privilege and serve law enforcement, military personnel and white men?
JPS asserts: But damn, I’d be embarrassed to air family grievances like that over the Internet.
So would I but many today are incapable of embarrassment. There seems to be no facet of their lives they are unwilling to share with the world. This gal earns the Christina Crawford award for 2019.
Cops in suspect terrain.
What else did the barista do to those coffees? Does Howard Schultz approve?
Just asking.
but both times cops went out of their way to help me out.
Dad taught us kids to treat cops with nothing but deference and respect. Of course we were taught, through word, and modeling by our parents, to respect ALL our elders. Dad always said, with any authority figure, respect and obey. Any unproper behavior by those persons we should take back to our parents, and they would correct any perceived wrong. BUT, no matter what, our parents supported our behavior...as long as it was defendable. (but if were were in the wrong, we would hang twice)
Most probably Starbucks employee didn't know any facts about the Police Chief and 4 others. She just defaulted to pigs.
BTW, can't wait somebody selects a medium size city, say, 500k-1m. Take all those smartasses who complain about police and let them fully staff and run police department. Then we'd see after a few years how well they'd be doing.
If you've never met a cop who wasn't totally straight and courteous, well, good for you. It's possible, I guess, if you seldom have to interact with police officers. On the other hand, if all the cops you've met are brutes and fascists, you might want to re-evaluate your own attitude.....If I have a bad experience with a person of x appearance, am I entitled to label all people of x appearance as pigs?
I have met some cops that were very nice, but I always show deference and respect. Can you imagine having a job where every person you interact with will lie to you? Criminals, of course, but every speeder has "story". Every time you walk into a store or pull behind a person in traffic they clam up.
Also, lots of cops are people that get off on the power trip, it is always good to show deference to them because they got guns - an qualified immunity.
I remember when saying 'cop' was not really acceptable. You wouldn't have said it to a policeman's face.
Now 'Pig' is no big deal.
A progression unlike all the other words that have been removed from the vernacular.
"Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."
I suppose instead of ordering a Venti, he orders a “D-cup”.
If dad is an attention whore, the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.
True fact.
She seems like a nice person who would never turn on you and post intimate things about your relationship if things didn't go her way. Yikes.
This kind of thing happens when you let the government raise your children.
Starbucks idiot should stay fired.
BTW, nobody who hates racism should ever buy anything from Starbucks after they fired that white manager for rightly kicking out two black loiterers.
It's hard to generalize about cops - as in every profession, there are good and bad. I come from a family with lots of cops. They're mostly ok working class types. One is a highly professional, even-tempered sergeant. Some of them have worn PIG (pride, integrity, guts) pins on their lapels, but departments have mostly nixed that.
Get a few beers in them and you'll hear some hair-raising stories about what they do to "bad guys" who may or may not deserve what the cops dish out. I've been tossed out of the jury pool more than once for being honest about my thoughts on the police. Both the defense and the state have nixed me.
There are some real shitheads on the force, but still I draw the line at dehumanizing cops. Like any stereotype, the Pig epithet is probably wrong more often than not.
Calling a policeman Pig - Haha joke.
Calling a Woman a "Water buffalo" = alarm bells, May get you fired or banned from school.
Are people ever going to understand this double standard is NOT about "tolerance"?
Police are racist, says too much or too little. What does "racist" mean? Its a guessing game.
What a weird daughter. But then who knows what that family is like. Happy families are all alike - but unhappy families are unhappy in their own unique way. Just something I just made up.
Wow. Pathetic daughter. Does she know what she is doing to herself?
I think that this whole thing is just another consequence of unintended consequences by the left. We now have a name for what happens when the public doesn’t support the police - “Ferguson Effect”. We essentially have two modes of policing: where the police rush to the danger, to the sound of gunfire, and when their priority is finishing their shift alive and uninjured. We saw a good example of the consequences of this with the Broward Coward, Scot Peterson, cowering and holding the perimeter at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High, the school that he was assigned to defend, during the school shooting there. Several of his fellow officers, first on the scene, stayed outside with him. It was officers from better motivated jurisdictions who first entered the school in order to confront the shooters.
Police can be broadly separated into two groups: sheepdogs and time clock punching bureaucrats. And community support is a significant part of why you have one or the other in a PD. Think about what triggered the troubles in Ferguson. Big Mike Brown and his partner, experienced criminal Dorian Johnson had just committed a strong arm robbery of a convenience store, when officer Darren Wilson happened upon them, swaggering down the middle of the street, high as kites. Brown punched Wilson, and tried to take his gun away from him. Wilson managed to shoot Brown in the hand, and Brown took off. Brown, having thus attempted murder on a police officer, Wilson took off in pursuit. Brown turned and tried to attack Wilson again. Ultimately, he died, as a result of justified self defense by Wilson. Wilson, the sheepdog, survived. But Johnson, realizing that he was now potentially liable for the felony murder of his partner, Brown, starts the “hands up, don’t shoot” fake narrative. It worked. Instead of going to prison, where he belonged, he was never charged. Instead the young blacks, mostly from fatherless households, rioted. The community supported the rioters, and not the police. And, as a result, the city is a more dangerous place to live, because so many of the cops, unappreciated by the community, are now time clock punchers, instead of sheepdogs.
I think that we are in an era, where lack of support for police and active policing is resulting in a destruction of public order in a number of (esp) controlled cities. Human excrement on the streets in San Francisco and Seattle. 3rd world diseases rampant in LA. And NYC is very likely to follow.
Don't call us, we'll call you...
"including his own daughter."
The lovely thing about Twitter is that this woman's Daddy issues are confined to a wee bit of electronic ephemera. She doesn't have to stand out in the street with a sign or a white faux-fur jacket and five-inch heels.
Bless her heart.
I bet she's feckless.
One of the realities of life is that adolescent males, driven by their raging hormones, must determine their limits. Traditionally, those limits have been supplied by their fathers and the older males in the community. But thanks, in particular, with LBJ’s War on Poverty, fatherless child rearing has been subsidized now for better than a half a century. And when you subsidize something, you get more of it. Thus, in the Black community, out of wedlock births have soared from 1/4 to 3/4 during that half century. Many of the resulting boys rarely, if ever, had a strong male influence in their lives, setting the limits that adolescent males need in order to become productive members of society.
That is where the police have traditionally come in, providing a backup to the father’s who should have primary responsibility for civilizing their sons. Providing the limits that adolescent males require in order to become productive members of society. But in many minority communities these days, the police are prevented from doing this by that community. The result is uncivilized young men running as feral juvenile packs, terrorizing and preying on the larger community.
The results should have been predicted. Crime and violence have skyrocketed in these areas, Dem controlled inner city minority neighborhoods, while violence throughout most of the rest of the country continues its long decline. And part of the difference is a result of how differently the police are treated.
I've been tossed out of the jury pool more than once for being honest about my thoughts on the police. Both the defense and the state have nixed me.
I was in a jury pool where the entire pool was tossed because of what many of us thought about lawyers and plaintiffs in obvious insurance fraud cases. The judge said, "How many of you have been sued ?" All the hands went up. Doctors and building contractors.
I think that we are in an era, where lack of support for police and active policing is resulting in a destruction of public order in a number of (esp) controlled cities.
You forgot Chicago where the black lesbian Mayor fired the black police chief over a video of an incident. The perp spit in the cop's eye and the cop body slammed him.
I can just imagine Crack's attitude as a teen.
thanks, in particular, with LBJ’s War on Poverty,
I've started Amity Schlae's new book, "The Great Society." Should be good. She pulls no punches.
starbucks: nasty, over-priced coffee served by left-wing loon losers
The Valley was racist in general back in our day Crack. Maybe the future cops were just more honest with you.
Amity Schlae? you'd think (i guess, I'd think,) she'd be friendly
PIG is a term of endearment... A cop told me it stood for Pride Integrity and Guts
She sounds like the typical spoilt and yet always disappointed she did not get more Leftist who loves to throw their higher achieving or just happier with their lives relatives under the bus for social status points.
Also I grew up in South Florida around blacks and Hispanics from everywhere. They ALL tell very racist jokes about white people (and some not jokes, just straight up racism, physical bullying and stealing from other kids). But somehow that’s ok. That is always glossed over by people like Crack Emcee who know it’s a fact when they are crying about white kids being mean.
BTW, nobody who hates racism should ever buy anything from Starbucks after they fired that white manager for rightly kicking out two black loiterers.
@Char Char Binks, go research the story. The white manager who was fired had nothing to do with the incident! The shop where it happened was not one in his region. The manager actually responsible for the store was black and the manager who fired the white manager were black. Amazing.
Sometime cops are racist. Sometimes their discernment only causes them to be vulnerable to the characterization.
Back in the day (pre-Obama, pre-Holder), when the DOJ/BJS were permitted to gather such data, it was clear that black males who were six percent of the population committed 50% or more of the violent crimes. More recently, it is apparently “racist” to amass that data or for police to notice and react to the reality of it.
Instead, the “reality” publicized by the leftmedia and academe is that black males are incarcerated “disproportionately.”
This is also known as 2+2=5.

We're not - she's "spiritual" and I'm letting her be that somewhere else - far away from me.
Actually, Hombre, Bucky Fuller proved 1+1=4. It's the geometric synergy behind the exponential nature of the universe.

Nope - just since I saw what law enforcement was like as kids.
Figure it out, Genius.

It's funny how every documentary I watch about the Irish involves corruption, gangsters, and them infiltrating law enforcement, but the white world is like "They are the pillars of democracy" - and Kenndy is dead as a doornail because of it.
I don't think whites like reality very much, which is why they want to keep perpetuating lies.

Always said as though there's no context for it - what's the context for whites? What did blacks and hispanics ever do to whites to provide them with their lifelong historical hatreds?
I'll wait.
That Starbucks store should do an inventory. Young men I knew when I worked who were extremely overtly hostile to the police were often stealing or selling drugs.
Think about all the crazy assholes out there, trying to rob, assault, rape and take advantage of people. Some are completely out of their minds, ready to kill, or suicide themselves in the process, or just hurt whoever gets in their way. Some are disgusting filthy parasites. We can avoid them most of our lives, but some people have to face them, confront them, stop them and spend their day doing it over and over, becuase it's the job we give them so we can live without having to face that shit. They can't just run away, or avoid them, or call someone else to deal with it. They have to go right into that mess, that filth, and face whatever crazy dangerous shit the worst among us can dish out.
Like any group, some cops are just bad people, but the decent ones are owed a deep debt of gratitude, and an empathy for what we ask of them. These ungrateful brats would not last a minute in a world without the people they calls pigs. She has no idea of how unwoke some humans are, and what they think of women or anyone weaker than them, and what they would do with out these "pigs" making her world safe to walk in.
Next, Crack is going to dis Joe Friday and Adam-12.

Personally, I don't know. Try asking some Democrats...
The retire at 50 with a solid pension and health care is a huge thank you. You want to admire men who face real danger, cops are pretty low on that list.
" You want to admire men who face real danger, cops are pretty low on that list."
How much would you need to spend your day, everyday fighting, arguing with, and trying to resolve the problems of crazy, angry, and often filthy people, many of whom will stab or shoot you in the back the first chance they get in between calling you a racist and a pig. How much would you want to do that daily, and for how many years? Damn! there's the alarm clock - another day of following my bliss.
Well mister bag of water my guess is that's why governments screen out the high IQ people when they are looking to select their next class for the police academy. not smart enough to do anything else you certainly don't want them in a real dangerous job cuz I'll get other people killed
"What did blacks and Hispanics ever do to whites to provide them with their lifelong historical hatreds?"
The answer might come from asking what did Blacks and Hispanics ever do to each other to force them to kill, rob, and assault each other in numbers far higher than other groups? Asians have historical gripes too, as do the Irish, and others, but those groups are not killing each other in vast numbers every single day in the most prosperous and upwardly-mobile nation in history.
Live PD is a pretty good window into the world of policing and who the perps are. The girl with the cow ring through her nose would be a frequent perp, and meth is often in the mix

Right Howard, clearly you are too good, too valuable, too elite to help, so how about at least a thank you to those unfortunate fools who choose to make your elitism possible. Do you think without them your shiny veneer would protect you? Next time you need a cop, make sure to tell them what you think of them before you ask for their help.
This demonstrates one of the most important lessons on how we live today: Always extrapolate wildly and righteously from minimal data.
“Do you think without them your shiny veneer would protect you? ”
The funny thing, to me, is that the exact same leftists who work so hard to destroy the effectiveness of the police, as well as minority families, are also the ones so desperately trying to disarm the rest of the country.
Always said as though there's no context for it - what's the context for whites? What did blacks and hispanics ever do to whites to provide them with their lifelong historical hatreds?

You keep dragging us down with stories about the problems in your communities, with your culture and in your families. We are sorry for your realities. We don't share them.
We prefer to live in more civilized communities. Stop pretending that the black man's troubles are the (successful) white families' burden to bear. Things are good for us, our families intact, our bills paid. We donate to charity, but we resent constantly being told that others are responsible for you, your community, your culture and your family's troubles.
Emulate successful people, families and cultures, even if they are white and you resent their greater success than yours. Try to live in a better reality, like the ones you are bitter against do, instead of dragging whites into your own sad version of "reality"?
God bless. We're praying for you to help yourself. And congrats on helping your nephew. Family support surely goes further than government help, or casting your burdens onto unrelated white people.

bagoh20 keeps forgetting it was whites who made and restricted us to ghettos where "crabs in a bucket" is played - we didn't do it - they did. The yearly amnesia he experiences on this topic is of no comfort. He should look to the violent histories of Italians and Irish and other groups who moved up - with guns in hand - for a refresher on what oppression (and denial) leave in their wake.
"Asians have historical gripes too, as do the Irish, and others, but those groups are not killing each other in vast numbers every single day in the most prosperous and upwardly-mobile nation in history."
This bullshit again - every year. They also have home countries - blacks don't - we're former slaves. They have identities - blacks don't - we're creating ourselves. And on and on and on - a whole lot of really complex stuff I don't expect amnesiatic morons to ever understand.
Not this one anyway.
"The Crack Emcee", your constant racism is old, trite, and boring. Thank you for reminding me that I needed to install killfile on the new laptop. Done. Now I needs not be subjected to you evermore. I would wish you a happy life but it does not look like you can get there from where you are. So I will just say bye.
Crack, shut the fuck up with the pretending you speak for blacks.
That asinine bullshit was old ten years ago.
Live PD is the best PR program for any police force.
It reveals that 75% of policing is babysitting poor, stupid people.
That said, just as in any strata of large organizations, there will be terrible people working for them. There are bad cops. Their unions rarely help to uncover corruption. And the militarization of police forces is not a good trend.
Crack has a realistic view of police (and life). He's not making them out as monsters, just not heroes either. That's life

Right. They're my friends. They cuss, fart, shit, and lie like everybody else. Until they became cops, my life was waaay harder than theirs - one is a sometime drummer with Toto, for Christ's sake. I was harder than they were. Now they all look like weird Arnold Schwarzenegger's. I'd never want to look like that.
Y'all just idolize what you don't know. That's dangerous, as far as I'm concerned, and especially when it comes to authority figures.
They don't need your support from the weight of society.
Victim-hood is a losers game, especially if you play it too long. It becomes a replacement for reflection, action, effort, and discipline. It's a cop-out, and it's a poison to the soul, and to success.
