This is actually a headline at The Washington Post: "The GOP’s bootlicking cowardice knows no bounds."

On the front page too.

Jeez. Speaking of things that know no bounds.... The GOP-hating of The Washington Post knows no bounds!

I don't really care what's under that headline, but just for your information, it's a column by Eugene Robinson, and it begins:
President Trump’s defense against impeachment is bombastic, full of lies and incoherent to the point of lunacy, which is no surprise. Republicans are beclowning themselves to pretend Trump is making sense — and that, sadly, is also no surprise....

Eugene Robinson has basically been writing the same column over and over every day for the last three years. Oh, and he also goes on cable news every night and repeats it all.

I don't understand your point. Are you saying that an editorial by Eugene Robinson (a long time liberal columnist) should not be published? Apparently, your tolerance for free speech has limits.

Democracy dies in darkness, so we better have a secret impeachment where the President has no ability to defend himself.

Freder's cognitive abilities are certainly quite limited. He seems to believe that criticizing a leftwing, race mongering dope like Eugene Robinson is the same as censoring him.

I ws hoping you could do better, Freder. That is really pitiful.

daskol said...

So in Eugene's world, Mittens is the Mitt Courageous, independent thinker, and the rest of the GOP who won't denounce Trump are the cowardly bootlickers. Eugene is obviously also one of the brave, publishing anti-Trump screeds weekly despite being totally ignored by Trump. Eugene doesn't even get a twitter razzing, nevertheless he persists. Courage and perseverance.

Field Marshall Freder: "I don't understand your point. Are you saying that an editorial by Eugene Robinson (a long time liberal columnist) should not be published? Apparently, your tolerance for free speech has limits."

Comments this stupid should be placed in glass, held up and examined under different environmental conditions and tested repeatedly to determine how someone could go so far off the rails.

Of course, it's more likely Freder just decided to go into his Full-Bundy-Case-Results-Liar-Mode so as to avoid substantive discussion altogether.

I've been wondering if Trump and Pelosi are actually more or less on the same page here - let's light this candle, get it done now (in Pelosi's case, before primary season) - because each one thinks it will benefit his/her side in 2020 to do it this way. I dunno. Trump is certainly waving a red cape a whole bunch right now. Whether he's doing it because he means to, to inflame the dumb passions of the bull, or just because he talks with his hands and happens to be holding a red cape - I also dunno.

The Leftist Collectivists believe a criticism of the ideas of the Left is an attempted silencing.
This gives them moral cover to actually try to silence non-Leftists.

That's what Freder Frederson is attempting.

Eugene still believes we can be persuaded to hold the “whistleblower” complaint in higher esteem than the actual transcript of the call. I notice he never mentions that a top guy on Mitt’s staff was also on Burisma’s board of directors. I'm continually amazed at the ability of the DNC-Media to obfuscate and ignore corruption by DC insiders. Fascinating. More projection here than in our local cineplex!

Anti Trump editorial = Front page.

Its weird to watch the democrats and their water carriers in the media try to inflate a nothing burger like the "2nd Whistleblower steps forward" I presume to be followed by a 3rd and 4th "whistleblower" all giving their reactions when they heard an inaccurate retelling of a conversation heard 2nd or 3rd hand. Really? That's all you got? We can read the bleeding transcript for ourselves, dimwits.

There is a coven of liberal or "progressive"columnists at the WaPo and NYT who are good at flinging poo. Not terribly persuasive to most people, but they have an audience in the readers of their paper.

Out here in Los Angeles, this morning's Times had a front page article about the lonely and brave whistleblowers in our history. Again not terribly persuasive when you consider that the "lonely and brave" Whistleblower #1 is still hiding in the shadows. Another image comes to mind from an Italian drama--a fellow with a stiletto hiding behind a curtain. Will the curtain drop? Was the stiletto in the back effective? Time will tell.

Full on monkey going nuts throwing poo at their foes.

I need someone to name a crime and exactly what actions taken committed that crime.

This is the same as the Russia scam. I asked repeatedly for just a single actions that tripped a counter intelligence investigation of a political campaign. I have yet to this day received an answer to that question.

Also this is Kavanaugh II, next up, Avinutty is coming forward with 2 more witnesses. He refuses to say what they witnessed, but its bad.

Well said indeed. Pelosi has got to know this idiocy will be terrible for her party. Pelosi probably thinks that her party needs to get a beat down to get rid of the crazies and Trump is a one of kind to be replaced by a regular Republican. Trump, who knows what his long term thinking is. However this theatre of the absurd will win him re-election and he will regain both houses of Congress and with that he will be the most successful since Reagan Republican president and possibly exceed Reagan and thus the best Republican president for another generation, possibly even two generations. The Democrats weakend Reagan in his second term with Iran Contra, they are blowing it now by trying to weaken Trump now by trying to do a second Iran Contra blow during his first term. They should have quit with Mueller but instead have doubled down on stupid.

WaPo is getting desperate:

Clapper said, "Well, I don't know, I don't think there was any wrongdoing," which doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence, but then he said something really interesting. "I know, for my part, my main concern was with the Russians and the threat posed by the Russians to our very political fabric and uhhhh, the message I'm getting from all of this is apparently what we were supposed to have done was to ignore the Russian interference, ignore the Russian meddling and the threat that it poses to us, and oh, by the way, blown off what the then commander-in-chief, President Obama, told us to do, which was to assemble all of the reporting we could, that we had available to us."

"It’s kind of disconcerting now to be investigated for, you know, having done our duty and done what we were told to do by the president," Clapper added.
