The relevant passage from "Alice in Wonderland" is this:
The Cat only grinned when it saw Alice. It looked good-natured, she thought: still it had very long claws and a great many teeth, so she felt that it ought to be treated with respect. The questions begin with Alice, and it's a sensible question. She gets a sensible answer:
‘Cheshire Puss,’ she began, rather timidly, as she did not at all know whether it would like the name: however, it only grinned a little wider. ‘Come, it’s pleased so far,’ thought Alice, and she went on. ‘Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’
‘That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.Sensible, but there's no advice that can be followed.
‘I don’t much care where—’ said Alice.
‘Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.
‘—so long as I get somewhere,’ Alice added as an explanation.
‘Oh, you’re sure to do that,’ said the Cat, ‘if you only walk long enough.’
Alice felt that this could not be denied, so she tried another question. ‘What sort of people live about here?’The Cat isn't asking crazy questions, only providing the lucid answer that everyone is crazy.
‘In that direction,’ the Cat said, waving its right paw round, ‘lives a Hatter: and in that direction,’ waving the other paw, ‘lives a March Hare. Visit either you like: they’re both mad.’
‘But I don’t want to go among mad people,’ Alice remarked.
‘Oh, you can’t help that,’ said the Cat: ‘we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.’
‘How do you know I’m mad?’ said Alice. That's the Cat's first question (if you don't count "You grant that?").
‘You must be,’ said the Cat, ‘or you wouldn’t have come here.’
Alice didn’t think that proved it at all; however, she went on ‘And how do you know that you’re mad?’
‘To begin with,’ said the Cat, ‘a dog’s not mad. You grant that?’
‘I suppose so,’ said Alice.
‘Well, then,’ the Cat went on, ‘you see, a dog growls when it’s angry, and wags its tail when it’s pleased. Now I growl when I’m pleased, and wag my tail when I’m angry. Therefore I’m mad.’
‘I call it purring, not growling,’ said Alice.
‘Call it what you like,’ said the Cat. ‘Do you play croquet with the Queen to-day?’
‘I should like it very much,’ said Alice, ‘but I haven’t been invited yet.’Not a crazy question.
‘You’ll see me there,’ said the Cat, and vanished.
Alice was not much surprised at this, she was getting so used to queer things happening. While she was looking at the place where it had been, it suddenly appeared again.
‘By-the-bye, what became of the baby?’ said the Cat. ‘I’d nearly forgotten to ask.’
‘It turned into a pig,’ Alice quietly said, just as if it had come back in a natural way.Later:
‘I thought it would,’ said the Cat, and vanished again.
Alice waited a little, half expecting to see it again, but it did not appear, and after a minute or two she walked on in the direction in which the March Hare was said to live. ‘I’ve seen hatters before,’ she said to herself; ‘the March Hare will be much the most interesting, and perhaps as this is May it won’t be raving mad—at least not so mad as it was in March.’ As she said this, she looked up, and there was the Cat again, sitting on a branch of a tree.
‘Did you say pig, or fig?’ said the Cat.
‘I said pig,’ replied Alice; ‘and I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly: you make one quite giddy.’
‘All right,’ said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.
‘Well! I’ve often seen a cat without a grin,’ thought Alice; ‘but a grin without a cat! It’s the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!’
Alice began to feel very uneasy: to be sure, she had not as yet had any dispute with the Queen, but she knew that it might happen any minute, ‘and then,’ thought she, ‘what would become of me? They’re dreadfully fond of beheading people here; the great wonder is, that there’s any one left alive!’Alice is relieved in this crazy world to encounter the Cheshire Cat. She remembers him as relatively cogent within the craziness of the place where she finds herself.
She was looking about for some way of escape, and wondering whether she could get away without being seen, when she noticed a curious appearance in the air: it puzzled her very much at first, but, after watching it a minute or two, she made it out to be a grin, and she said to herself ‘It’s the Cheshire Cat: now I shall have somebody to talk to.’
‘How are you getting on?’ said the Cat, as soon as there was mouth enough for it to speak with. That fits how Hunter says he feels. Nothing make sense. Of course, he doesn't look to Donald Trump in hope of getting some structure to the madness.
Alice waited till the eyes appeared, and then nodded. ‘It’s no use speaking to it,’ she thought, ‘till its ears have come, or at least one of them.’ In another minute the whole head appeared, and then Alice put down her flamingo, and began an account of the game, feeling very glad she had someone to listen to her. The Cat seemed to think that there was enough of it now in sight, and no more of it appeared.
‘I don’t think they play at all fairly,’ Alice began, in rather a complaining tone, ‘and they all quarrel so dreadfully one can’t hear oneself speak—and they don’t seem to have any rules in particular; at least, if there are, nobody attends to them—and you’ve no idea how confusing it is all the things being alive; for instance, there’s the arch I’ve got to go through next walking about at the other end of the ground—and I should have croqueted the Queen’s hedgehog just now, only it ran away when it saw mine coming!’
‘How do you like the Queen?’ said the Cat in a low voice.Heh. Trump is more like the Queen, don't you think? So extremely likely to win... No, the Queen is Joe Biden, because Alice/Hunter is lying (to avoid an execution).
‘Not at all,’ said Alice: ‘she’s so extremely—’ Just then she noticed that the Queen was close behind her, listening: so she went on, ‘—likely to win, that it’s hardly worth while finishing the game.’
The Queen smiled and passed on.I'm going to say the King is Obama.
‘Who are you talking to?’ said the King, going up to Alice, and looking at the Cat’s head with great curiosity.
‘It’s a friend of mine—a Cheshire Cat,’ said Alice: ‘allow me to introduce it.’
‘I don’t like the look of it at all,’ said the King: ‘however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.’
‘I’d rather not,’ the Cat remarked.Of course not!
‘Don’t be impertinent,’ said the King, ‘and don’t look at me like that!’ He got behind Alice as he spoke."A cat may look at a king" is an old saying that means even a person in a low station has some rights. In the book, an actual cat is looking at the King, and the King himself must move to stop the cat from looking at him. He gets behind the little girl. Then he calls out for his wife's aid:
‘A cat may look at a king,’ said Alice. ‘I’ve read that in some book, but I don’t remember where.’
‘Well, it must be removed,’ said the King very decidedly, and he called the Queen, who was passing at the moment, ‘My dear! I wish you would have this cat removed!’
The Queen had only one way of settling all difficulties, great or small. ‘Off with his head!’ she said, without even looking round.
‘I’ll fetch the executioner myself,’ said the King eagerly, and he hurried off.

I’m at a seminar today put on by Security National Bank’s Trust Department. It probably employs 20 people. After many years of hard work, it now manages $1.5B in assets. Hunter Biden got $1.5 Billion to manage because he’s the VP’s son and can fly on Air Force 2.
Yeah, we’ve got questions and they aren’t crazy. Not one bit.
"Feels to me like living in some kind of Alice in Wonderland where you're up on the real world, then you fall down the rabbit hole and the president is the Cheshire cat asking you questions about crazy things that don't have any resemblance to the reality of anything that has to do with me."
More language to analyze: You know what they call a "rabbit hole"?
A Warren. (n. a network of interconnecting rabbit burrows).
This really makes me want to re-read Alice in Wonderland. So good!
In high school the leftie druggie kids liked to reference Alice in Wonderland because of the Hookah-Smoking Caterpillar. I suspect that's why Hunter does, too...
Emerita could look into read books into Audio with side comments like these?
Sure to be hit.
Has the MSM told me how all this Hunter Biden stuff is actually bad for Trump?
I mean, I know it is, just wanted the specific talking points.
His real world is different that 99.8% of the rest of us, so welcome to the real world, Hunter.
You’re not royalty. In this world, people can ask (serve) you and ask for your DNA. Consider it a job interview. Why are you qualified?
You’re not untouchable because of your name.
Hunter's favorite song always was "White Rabbit".
According to Kenneth Burke the smile represents a fart.
$50,000 a month was not enough to hold on to this oracle. I can see why he had to quit, because almost nobody can afford to pay Hunter Biden what he is worth. I say the Hunter for President campaign starts today. Or....OR... a kind of House of Cards move should happen, where Joe nominates Hunter as VP.
BIden Biden 2020. It's like poetry. Poetry we don't deserve.
All those Democrats talking about the evils of fossil fuels have set up their kids with sinecures in the fossil fuels industries.
What about this weird turn of phrase?
“Look, I'm a private citizen,” he said. “What I don't have to do is sit here and open my kimono as to how it relates to how much money I make ... or didn't"
I had to google it. Apparently it's corporate speak: https://www.npr.org/sections/codeswitch/2014/11/02/360479744/why-corporate-executives-talk-about-opening-their-kimonos
As that article notes the phrase is creepy. What an mental image!
How odd. My artist daughter recently moved out of our house, and left a bit of old artwork behind. One work I just moved out of her room was a papier-mache sculpture thing with the Cheshire Cat in a tree talking to Alice, mounted on a Alice in Wonderland book, opened to form the base.
I really enjoyed the Alice analysis.
As for Hunter Biden, I haven't heard such heartfelt sincerity since OJ declared he was going to find the real killers on golf courses across the country!
I hope the paternity case process server find Hunter in ABC studio?
... or did Hunter get whistle-blower protection?
Back when he was still funny, Joe Queenan wrote that Alice in Wonderland was actually an accurate portrayal of Victorian England.
“What I don't have to do is sit here and open my kimono as to how it relates to how much money I make ... or didn't"
I thought Bidens were always opening their kimonos.
Particularly when female Secret Service people were around.
"where you're up on the real world, then you fall down the rabbit hole and the president is the Cheshire cat asking you questions about crazy things that don't have any resemblance to the reality of anything that has to do with me."
I am with Hunter. It is crazy to complain about the Bidens' corruption when everyone know that's how the real world works, particularly the world of the Clintons, the Pelosis, the Podestas, and their ilk. Crazy.
Free clue for Hunter: When your mind is addled by drugs, or maybe you are just not very bright, everything seems confusing if you try to pay attention. Sorry you can’t keep up.
If it was Joe Biden’s judgement that his sterling son could fix this, that proves he shouldn’t be POTUS. He would just be a tool of the deep state. Has he opined that we need to get back involved in the Syrian civil war yet?
Free clue for Democrats: We have fracking now, so we are free from babysitting that oil. I know Democrats want to make us dependent on that oil again... So who is doing Russia’s bidding again?
asking you questions about crazy things that don't have any resemblance to the reality of anything that has to do with me."
Said Hunter Biden
okay, let's STICK to questions that resemble the reality of Hunter Biden!
A) The first time you fucked your dead brother's widow; were you Both coked up? or just you?
B) did it seem unusual to you, that you
..1 got a Direct Commission into the US Navy, despite having No Military qualifications?
...Who provided this Direct Commission?
..2 that you were allowed in, even though too old; because you received a waiver
...Who provided this waiver?
..3 that you were allowed in, even with a prior drug issue; because of another waiver?
...Who provided THAT waiver?
..4 after being commissioned, how long was it before your coke use became out of control?
...Again?
Hunter should worry about the fact that should he get suicided, sympathy for him would go way up and Trump would look really really bad for picking on him.
Serious Question?
How does the Emollients Cause deal with using the office holder's children as front men ?
If you were a foreign, communist country; if you gave money to an office holder's son
Would That be as bad as staying in his hotel?
wasnt Lewis Carroll a druggie like Hunter?
I also bought and framed the sheet music for Eddie Cantor's production of Alice in Wonderland when I was in a collecting faze. Alice looks a bit of a floozy in 1930s lingo, if you ask me.
Trump enjoys giving Xi shit about the $1.5 billion payoff to the Super Dems funneled through Cokehead Son and the Kerry Stepson.
Looks like Cokehead Son borrowed his Dad’s dentures for the interview.
Hunter is Billy Carter Redux. He should have a can of Billy Beer and slink away now
"Would That be as bad as staying in his hotel?”
No. Because the only possible reason to stay in a Trump hotel is to curry favor with Trump. There is no currying of favor here. After a global search, exhaustive search, the best people for the job happened to be the children of Romney, Kerry, and Biden.
Poor Hunter. The Cheshire Cat is not Trump. It’s Q. And he has it all. And it is coming out as fast as we can deal with it.
Why did Hunter Biden get to go to Yale Law School? Somebody didn't get to go because he was given a seat.
Government whores for life. All in the family. No questions allowed.
Vote for Chelsea!
Fortunate Son.
Isn’t Yale pass/fail? No grades.
Hunter would have flunked out of Golden Gate Law School. A dope just like his old, old man. Cokehead too.
Alice, however, knew how to answer a question forthrightly when asked.
How many of Joe's staff worked with Hunter on the Cheshire cat meme?
He clearly needed to pivot to Trump after answering a few questions to make it look good.
Where was the investigation that cleared the Biden's from wrong-doing?
Can we impeach a VP after the fact?
Similar, but with less good advice
’The first time you fucked your dead brother's widow; were you Both coked up? or just you?’
In a nutshell.
’Why did Hunter Biden get to go to Yale Law School?’
He’s a super sharp guy, obviously...
Here's why the Democrats are having such trouble with this issue. People are always putting good words in with their cronies in business to get their kids jobs. It has ALWAYS been "who you know " Most people will generally expect and work toward having their kids learn some skills and have some experience before they recommend them. Trump in PARTICULAR was known to have taken especially good care in raising competent children with business acumen and a strong work ethic.
To the Democrats, getting your coke addict kid a sweet job on a foreign board is Exactly the Same.
They really don't get how this looks to the voters.
The further Trump penetrates the fog of corruption in the swamp, the more desperate Democrats and some Republicans will become to impeach him.
Pray that Barr is the man he seems to be. Otherwise, Trump is alone among the swamprats.
In his own words....
https://twitter.com/GOP/status/1184124276905009154
This is starting to look for Democrats like that story about the Indianapolis and those sharks.
Summary:
So we're going to identify this level of corruption as corruption now? How unfair!
Why did Hunter Biden get to go to Yale Law School? Somebody didn't get to go because he was given a seat.
Yet none of the people who criticized Trump's attendance at Princeton have written a word about it. I'm sure that's just an oversight.
It's neato how democrats get to exonerate themselves without question.
Total media back-up. No investigation.
That boy ain't all he's cracked up to be.
what Hunter could have said to garner Dilbert attention:
“I won’t open the Kimono until you ping the change agent for a brain dump and drill down to your core competencies."
______________
The expression became such a well-worn word in the IT industry that it was even used by the fictional consultant Dogbert, in the Dilbert cartoon series. In a comic strip from the 16 June 2005, Dogbert says in a stream of buzzwords: “Don’t open the Kimono until you ping the change agent for a brain dump and drill down to your core competencies." The mention indicated to many that the expression had become a key element of overused business jargon.
That's handy because then-Secretary of State John Kerry himself has visited Ukraine with promises of U.S. aid and assistance. Well, Leiter registered as a Burisma lobbyist in mid-2014. But in the year leading up to that, he gave close to $60,000 to Democrats, including a select group of U.S. senators who would later be instrumental in pushing cash towards Ukraine's energy sector, directly in line with Burisma's interests.
He donated to Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., four times and to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., three times. A month after the last of those donations, both Markey and Shaheen were among four senators who wrote a letter to President Obama that said, "We should leverage the full resources and expertise of the U.S. government to assist Ukraine in improving its energy efficiency, increasing its domestic production and reforming its energy markets."

Something about the closer to the target you are, the heavier the flak.
The more important and relevant Alice quote, always, with politics, is from Humpty Dumpty:
“The question is, which is to be master — that's all.”
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/chelsea-clinton-made-900000-working-for-her-parents/
Snopes headlines this as false.
But does admit that NBC paid her $600,000 a year straight out of college. So $50,000 a month is the going rate for paying off politicians by hiring their kids. Good to know.
Snopes goes really hard to justify how she was really worth that $600,000 a year salary.
The reality is - it was a payoff, bribe, whatever other word you want to describe it, to the Clintons. Intuitively obvious to the most casual observer.
"Intuitively obvious to the most casual observer" is my favorite phrase ever appearing in an advanced math textbook.....
sounds like Charlie gibsons crew, all over again,

"Why did Hunter Biden get to go to Yale Law School? Somebody didn't get to go because he was given a seat."
Same reason every other politician's kid has been accepted to pretty much every Ivy League school?
There was actually an article I ran across on this very issue recently but can't remember where. The percentages of powerful politicians whose kids get accepted to ivy league schools is off the charts. Defies all logic. These kids should really start buying lottery tickets.
Donald Trump went to Fordham and the University of Pennsylvania.
Amazing the quality of his responses after all the scripted answers Nd practice Hunter must have had...
Yes, that favors go to the rich and political power holding men's kids is as old as American politics. That is how we distribute stuff by a tacit quid pro quo with the Quid holders always going to the head of the line.
What we now face is different. The Quid holders are bargaining for their sons to be granted favors from FOREIGNERS. And it is not just British Aristocrats, but our deadly enemies like Communist Chinese Party who is going for world rule over us. Meanwhile we pretend to be at war with those 30 years ago enemies who have long ago become non-Communist Russians wanting to hold on what is left of Russia.
Aren't Y'all gonna admit;
-the Cheshire cat meme?
Work great with their Pearly-whites grin!

Yes, he has been surrounded with swamp creatures since 1/21/2017. Sessions folded after 5 minutes. They got Flynn and all he has left are his kids.
I don’t think cocaine boy should be using Alice in Wonderland metaphors.
Sydney powell seems to have discovered the deception, that involved james Woolsey, odd I used to have respect for him, but no longer after he played the gulen card, the interview was in the form of a training exercise,

Yep. I think it's bad enough when the elite get positions on the boards of American companies. It is a whole 'nother level when the get positions on the companies that are In foreign countries that want to see us all dead and enslave our citizens.
Nice DNC-Media promotional video. No questions in which the words crack pipe or paternity appeared. No questions about how he became a Naval officer suddenly at 45 with no prior experience, or how and why that commission ended. Americans are into this game the media plays and we do in fact notice how carefully these blow dried bubble heads rhetorically lob softballs for certain people and are all-hardball all the time for other people. It’s why Shep has left Fox News. Ratings plummet when news goes partisan.

Why would you as a Democrat have a problem with that? Besides, Trump's kids are actually intelligent and competent which is more than can be said of the recent vintage Democrat's kids.

Wondering what mother daughter discuss after this project!?
I was in my mid 50s before I learned that the Jabberwock poem wasn't a nonsense poem, and that all those odd words were real words that had definitions and meanings which made sense in their poetical use by the mathematician Lewis Carroll. Read his works as nonsensical humorous stories at your peril.
And Hunter Biden, employed throughout his life for his last name and no other discernible reason, might want to get ready to answer what, exactly, he did as a director of the UN Food Program, as a director of Amtrack, as a director of Burisma and as a director of that Chinese investment fund. Because so far, no reporter has whispered even a hint of Hunter doing anything to earn all that money other than be a Biden.
I'd just like to state for the record that this is a very off-putting comment section for me to read.

This too. Also, it occurs to me how well this would work as analogy from the point of view of Trump supporters. We know that people voted for him because, for all his surface craziness, they perceive him to be the only sane man in an insane world.
When you have the social-justice left rampaging around demanding people's heads, or the establishment Democrats and Republicans who spend all their time squabbling over tea, occasionally swapping positions and not really accomplishing anything, even a Cheshire cat could be a relief if he at least talks sense.
Perhaps the Caterpillar represents libertarians, since he smokes weed and asks questions that nobody wants to hear.
