"... turning aside an accusation that he had brought 'ridicule, disgrace and disrepute' to his office. But 95 Democrats signaled their support for impeachment, while 137 opposed it — a dramatic split signaling trouble ahead for a divided party. The 332-95 vote to table the impeachment article drafted by Representative Al Green, Democrat of Texas, constituted the first action by the House since Democrats took control in January on a measure to impeach Mr. Trump, a significant move that Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and other party leaders have toiled to avoid. By agreeing to table the article, Ms. Pelosi and the Democrats put off — at least for now — a prolonged and divisive debate over whether Mr. Trump’s conduct warrants his expulsion."
"You have to give him credit: He’s a great distractor,” Ms. Pelosi, Democrat of California, said of Mr. Trump on Wednesday. She waved off questions about whether the Democrats’ policy priorities were being eclipsed by the president’s antics, saying, “We’re not having him set our agenda; we’re setting our own agenda.”
She looked really happy at her press conference. It was weird:
Meanwhile, in about an hour, Trump has another one of his rallies. [ADDED: I've moved the live stream to a new post.]
Damn, I so wanted the House Democrats to go on record for impeaching a President for saying people are allowed to leave the US whenever they want. It would explain why they keep calling his wall, the Berlin Wall. It's how they would use it.
Ah well the Dims managed not to step on their membrum virile (even the 4 Squaddies have one) with golf spikes today. But wait a while, they'll have another go at it.
This is the best understanding of trump's tweets and I agree.
"Now, it couldn’t be clearer that Trump is referring to Ilhan Omar and her native country of Somalia, which is a nation exactly as he describes. But he doesn’t say “four Congresswomen” or invoke any others among them at all. In fact, the only reason one might think it’s specifically referencing those four women at all is Trump’s use of plural words -- “Congresswomen,” “countries,” “governments,” or the pronoun “they.”
But there is evidence that this series of tweets was specifically about Ilhan Omar, and not meant to specifically invoke the others it’s assumed to reference."
Notice that now that the D's control the House of Reps the NYT and Wapo are reporting that "The House did this" and "The House did that".
Whereas before, it was "The Republican Controlled house did this" Or "In a partisan vote, the Republicans in the House did that." The NYT should have been "95 Congressional Democrats voted to Impeach Trump".
Same with the SCOTUS. when its a liberal decision its just "SCOTUS Says X" and you have to hunt to find out who dissented and why. When its a conservative decision its "Conservative Judges say X, in narrow 5-4 decision"
The Democrats and the MSM are the driving force behind all this "Dysfunction" and lack of civility" and guess what? They don't care that some whiny willies "dislike all the fighting" and yell "Why can't we all get along?"
I also notice these whiny willies never get upset at the D's when they're constantly calling the R's 'racist/sexist/bigots/etc.' - that's normal. So, that's OK. its only when Trump or the odd Republican fights back that they get upset at all the Rumbas.
People like Romney and the Bushes act the same way. They don't get upset at the constant Democrat and MSM attacks and Republican bashing. We're supposed to just grin and bear it. But when Trump fights back, oh that's just beyond the pale! Then suddenly, Mittens is out in public calling for us to get along and be nice.
i was really hoping the Republicans in the House would vote to bring it to the floor and force the Democrats to hold an actual impeachment vote. That would be fun.
...He cited Trump's recent remarks about four Democratic congresswoman of color, which the House voted to condemn as racist on Tuesday, as cause for seeking the president's removal from office.
Trump's comments "have legitimatized and increased fear and hatred of new Americans and people of color," Green said Tuesday night on the House floor. "Donald John Trump, by causing such harm to the society of the United States, is unfit to be president and warrants impeachment, trial and removal from office.
So, legitimatizing and increasing fear and hatred of new Americans and people of color is now: A) a High Crime or B) a misdemeanor ?????
So, if i get this right, SPEECH is Now a High Crime? or maybe a misdemeanor? Or, Maybe it was the thoughts that led to the speech that were the crime??
Of course she looked happy. Anything to avoid the impeachment inquiry. Nancy knows that it would be the absolute kiss of death in 2020.
Yes, even Mitt gave lukewarm backing to Trump. I think of how George Bush got pretty much the same treatment as Trump, but he lacked the balls to fight back. Not now.
It's very scary to me that they think "bringing 'ridicule, disgrace and disrepute' upon the office" is grounds for impeachment. Either they haven't read the Constitution or, more likely, they don't care what it says.

Dems didn't think bringing 'ridicule, disgrace and disrepute' upon the office" was a problem when Bill Clinton turned Lewinsky into a verb.
ABC was saying over and over this morning that this is the first time in "over a hundred years" that the House has passed a resolution condemning a President. But back in the Clinton Days, the Democrats [!!!] proposed a resolution to censure Clinton for his conduct and lies regarding Ms. Monica, in lieu of impeaching him. Personally, I wish that the Republicans had taken up the Dems' offer, but this history certainly puts the Dems' current anti-Trump action in perspective.
Does that have anything about legislating in it? This Democrat Congress is a do nothing Congress, not because they can't agree, but because they actually have no ideas about how to help this nation in any way. They are 100% dedicated to partisan politics and nothing else. I'm not complaining. I'm tickled pink that they are choosing to waste their entire terms on complete bullshit and not actually doing the stuff they would if TDS had not infected the whole place. TDS is a psychological a-bomb of political warfare - a weapon of incredible effectiveness.
With emigration reform proceeding in some notable second and third-world nations, the "minority" leaders and Democrats look diverse and transhuman backing immigration reform to gerrymander "minority" power and democratic leverage, and its associated trafficking, waterboarding, rape, pedophilia, displacement, and other casualties and collateral damage. Somalia working with America to mitigate the progress of its terrorists doesn't help the Four Asses and their "minority" aspirations. Libya was a milestone in social justice adventures, but so was Kiev, when our interests fell short of democracy, and the refugee crisis was justified for its cause.
The corrupt government whore left's constant attempts to harass Trump and his administration
Not just Trump and the administration, and funding for border centers, processing, and defending civil rights; but, also private businesses that provide services and products for the children, female, and even male illegal immigrants. AOC in particular demonstrated a diversitist's transhuman, anti-nativist opinion about the children, women, and men on both sides of the borders (e.g. Mexico's southern border, America's southern border), that places Americans, Mexicans, and other lives at progressive risk, for what seems to be little more than democratic leverage, welfare profits, and "minority" leader status. The Democrats multi-trimester witch hunts and warlock trials only exacerbated her diverse causes where democracy would have otherwise been aborted in darkness and sustained the status quo.
Damn, I so wanted the House Democrats to go on record for impeaching a President ...
Well, 95 of them did. What I found interesting was that the vote to table (i.e., to drop the notion of impeachment into a round file) would have passed by 42 votes even if the vote was taken only among Democrats. 137 Democrats decided they’d rather risk a primary by a far left extremist than to face the voters in November 2020 with a vote in favor of beginning an impeachment investigation on their record.
“We’re not having him set our agenda; we’re setting our own agenda.”
Considering that the House of Representatives has been in session for a half year now, perhaps people actually competent at governing should have already set their agenda? Considering the emphasis they put on taking back the House in 2016, they seem profoundly indifferent towards the issues facing the citizens of the United States.

Admit, I do kinda miss decorum. Looking forward to being bored again.
Here in Montana, something has unleashed the Crazy, from City Council to the governor's race. I can't believe what I'm hearing.
Is everyone on drugs now?
The vote isn't getting much coverage. Wonder why.
Well, as Scott Adams says, I guess things are going pretty well if this is what we're all talking about.
