So I just got a an app called "PictureThis" that lets me take photos of the plants and get an immediate identification. If it's an ornamental or anything you plant on purpose you get instructions on planting and caring for it.

If it's a %^&#** weed at least now I can go to a plant nursery with a pic and a name, instead of taking a few wilted leaves in for the employees to guess at.

Costs $20 a year. It's not perfect---I've had a few false IDs---but definitely worth it, at the very least for finally being able to name anything when the nice lady from across the street comes to admire my garden.
