Excellent.
hunting for a way to restore the question on orders from President Trump.
Just what I predicted yesterday.
Malcolm Reynolds gets it's done
This has been playing out already this evening on George Conway’s Twitter feed, which is my new fun go-to news aggregator replacing Ann Althouse’s blog. The lawyers on the case have been told by the US District Court Judge to be in court on Monday, to put into writing their commitment to begin the process of producing Census questionnaires without the citizenship question.
Basically saying, don’t even think about fucking around on this anymore.
And of course here is the periodic reminder that I favor the citizenship question on the form. I like having that question on it. And I also think that the executive branch should have full powers to include such a question absent specific Congressional mandates. And if I had been on the Supreme Court, I’d have been a deciding vote for Secretary Ross.
But in fact the main reason the case was lost (and now being shoved up Trump’s flabby ass) is because of the noxious, incompetent way that they rolled it out. Like every other policy rollout from the Trump Administration.
Motion graphic for 5$
So the media was lying again.
Shocked.
George Conway? Why, wasn't Chelsea Manning's blog good enough for you? You never cease to marginalize yourself.
"...which is my new fun go-to news aggregator replacing Ann Althouse’s blog."
We'll miss you, Chuck. Wait..., why are you still here?

Bullshit.
You are a liar and you know this is pure garbage.
The reason the case was "lost" was because globalist traitors like John Roberts and the District Judge ignore the clearly written law and are looking for any excuse to keep our borders open and get more representation for democrats.
Trump is fighting a bunch of traitors that you are cheering for. We know you are on the democrats side.
Nobody believes you actually want the citizenship question on the census.
If you were who you say you were you would commit ritual seppuku.
So our resident Moby intro's a long-winded version of why this is a good idea, but does anyone doubt where he will wind up? Let's take a closer look:
Chuck: But in fact the main reason the case was lost (and now being shoved up Trump’s flabby ass) is because of the noxious, incompetent way that they rolled it out. Like every other policy rollout from the Trump Administration.
Was there ever any doubt? Note that he still assumes we are stupid enough to fall for his concern trolling. So arrogant in his ignorance. SMH.
PSA time:
Chuck: "I am afraid you are mistaking me for someone who has an interest in fair treatment of Donald Trump. I'm not your guy. I am interested in smearing him, hurting him and prejudicing people against him."

How can we believe you about you "go to a twitter feed" if you keep dropping turds around here?
Just add the question and forget it.
"Just add the question and forget it."
Send it to the printers and let the courts continue to argue about whether it gets used.
Easy legal solution. Put the citizenship question on the census form. Under the APA recite that reason is that since 10 Dem candidates for President want to extend free health care to illegal aliens, then the President needs to know how much that will cost.
The Dems then go to court seeking an injunction. Rocket docket and irreparable harm standard of proof. Trump wins.
And, yeah, Commerce Department screwed this up but it doesn’t help that there are political hack judges in the federal judiciary. Alito had it right.
Correct. Just start printing the forms with the citizenship question. Make the Dems get an injunction to stop the presses. Trump wins.
And print the forms in Nebraska. The printer would be a necessary party. Lawsuit would have to be in Nebraska. Trump wins.
Sorry, but this Conway fellow does he have any bragging rights other than schtupping his wife who is more famous than he is?
Largely, you would think his law school partnership would keep him busy.
They never do explain what he could have differently.
That's the Trump I voted for. A guy who'll fight. Ya hear that Mittens, you NWO frapping puke?
That's very good, SDaly.
Here in Canada, I know you gots to tell the Feds if you got the long form in 2016 your immigration (or non) status. Maybe the short form too. Does tend to silent (for a few seconds) the more-virtuous who pontificate on these matters from high towers, when they forget that little tidbit. Remind them after the pontification. In the silence that follows, you can sometimes hear kids playing merrily outside.
A sound that can act as a reminder of better days. Before the ceaseless bitterness/resentment had burrowed in.
That's the Trump I voted for. A guy who'll fight. Ya hear that Mittens, you NWO frapping puke?
Good point. We should not forget that the Romney/McCain approach would have been: "Gosh darn we just couldn't get it done. Not this hill. Maybe in 4 years if you donate to send us back to DC..."
Fuckers.
Even if Trump fails, there will be no Failure Theater. And Chuck's Establishment Wing of GOP is delusional if they think we will ever go back to that and their treacherous cuck ways.
It's going to be very interesting to see how the party re-aligns after the Trump Presidency. Can you just imagine the NeverTrumpers begging us to stand behind their RINO Cuck "for the good of the party"? LOL get fucked.
GatorNavy: "Sorry, but this Conway fellow does he have any bragging rights other than schtupping his wife who is more famous than he is?"
George Conwsy has zero real accomplishments and has delivered nothing in ensuring conservative principles win.
So naturally LLR Chuck identifies with him.
Kellyanne is a conservative fighter and has delivered the biggest political upset since Jackson and gave the republicans all 3 branches of govt.
Not to mention the first successful campaign run by a woman.
Needless to say Chuck despises and attacks Kellyanne daily.
Just like every other leftist.
Just say, "we want to know how many citizens there are." Isn't that a valid reason to include the question?
Oh I didn't realize we were talking about THAT Conway.
The spurned ex-husband who was married to the first woman run a presidential campaign, and who pulled off the most stunning upset in American political history.
I hear he hangs out with Michael Avanetti these days, gulping down dregs of bitterness.
Wow, Mr Principled Chuck sure can pick em.
I have decided that, despite never hearing one family story about it, that I am now a white Hispanic. My ancestors from Friesland, in the Netherlands, were subjects of the Spanish king when it was named the Spanish Netherlands. That went on for 100 or 150 years. I think that should be long enough to become a white Hispanic.
I am looking forward to the 2020 census.

What if Trump says pffft
Cucky Chuck’s heroes are open-borders. With them there never would have been a citizenship question in the first place, and he knows it, so he is a fucking tiresome liar.
You’re predictable and transparent, Chuck. Your time is over. You’re a Democrat and will fit right in at Frederica Wilson’s Mensa chapter. Here’s the news: NO ROMNEY OR MCCAIN IS EVER WINNING NATIONAL OFFICE. Not in 2020, not in 2120. Buy a lot of Kleenex.
Well, I'm impressed. A lesser man would have kneeled when a diversitist projected their bigotry upon them. Placing Americans first. Novel. Progress with a positive quality.
"This has been playing out already this evening on George Conway’s Twitter feed, after he began posting pics of the various bottles he can lift with his clenched sphincter"
Can EO run afoul of APA?
Seriously asking!
This EO will be time limited too.
Oh I don’t care what you fucking jackasses think.
This is whatcha call a wedge issue. The Supreme Court has ruled. There isn’t a Circuit Court of Appeal in the nation that will not adhere to the ruling in Department of Commerce v New York.
So Althouse will have to choose between the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and a career in law on the one hand; and her Trump Cult readership on the other. This will be peculiarly rich.
You jag off non-lawyer fuckheads don’t get it. Trump is going to have to back down on this. Like his many bankruptcies, his lost libel cases, his threatened libel cases, his Trump University fraud case that he said he’d never settle, etc.
And when Trump concedes on the litigation outcome, I want to be around to rub your noses in it and particularly to press Althouse on what should have happened. Again; to drive that wedge in between Althouse and her readershipp.
I’ve already said that I think the Executive should have the power to add the question. There is nothing wrong with the question. But the court case was lost, and perhaps when it should never have been lost, because of the peculiar and remarkable communication incompetence of the Trump Administration. But no matter what you may think about that, the federal court ruling stands. Nobody is going to violate it. Only Trump is stupid enough to talk about the that.
Oh I don’t care what you fucking jackasses think.
Uh huh.
John Roberts, a cuck just like you Chuck, knows fucking well that Commerce has the authority to add the question PERIOD. He even said so, but since he's a black-robed dictator he does whatever he wants to do.
Which of your favored pols would have put the question on the census in the first place? NOT ONE.
LLR Chuck: "I want to be around to rub your noses in it and particularly to press Althouse on what should have happened. Again; to drive that wedge in between Althouse and her readershipp."

Smear merchant Chuck screws up again.
In summary: our racist poster Chuck has openly admitted the following:
He is ONLY here to
1) knowingly and purposely smear and lie about Trump
2) drive a wedge between Althouse and her readership (note: one of the few blogsites that is not skewed to the far left)
That is precisely the sort of assignment a far left Moby operative would be assigned.
Precisely.
This quote is going to join the self-admitted smear merchant quote and live forever in providing the context necessary to understand Chuck's lefty hackery!!
Congratulations Chuck!! You've done it again!
Amazing.
Chuck
Did you read the case or Ann’s analysis? It was remanded. On remand, see my solution. The 10 Dems with free healthcare for illegals is the solution. And starting printing the forms. Make a judge stop the presses. Trump wins. Barr knows how to do this.
Really you mean like carry permits have not been readily available in DC 11 years after Heller, how about the beck decision that was a dead letter until Janus 30 years later
So the court is only the left word if progs want it to be.
If only Trump would wear a bow tie!!!
John Roberts had grown in the parlance of Tom Bethell like Anthony Kennedy and souter before him,,
I want to be around to rub your noses in it and particularly to press Althouse on what should have happened. Again; to drive that wedge in between Althouse and her readershipp.
I do hope that one day the good Lord grants you the awareness to see just how very sad this statement is.
HAHAHAHAHA!
I was wrong! The District Judge didn’t say that he wanted this shit about Trump’s Tweeting straightened out in Monday; in a 3:30 pm hearing today (and transcribed and released this evening) he said he wants this shit figured out Friday at 2 pm!!!!
The poor fucking DoJ lawyer had to sit there on the record and say that he is doing his best to figure out what is going on.
Every trial lawyer who has spent one day in federal court knows what a humiliating, crazy beatdown that was.
Link to the transcript here:

Everything you will ever need to understand Chuck and discount every utterance.
LOL
George hazel, a former Obama us atty in baltimore, quelle surprise.
Cucky Chuck’s so happy right now guys!!!!
Woah, that District Court transcript may be the worst judicial bitch-slapping that Trump and one of “his” attorneys has gotten in the short history of this Administration. The lawyers who know how to read between the lines of judicial transcripts are having a ball with this.
You would think they would a tiny speck of respect for citizens, but that's too much to ask, did he allow 'room to destroy as well'
It’s like Obama were still president, or as Chuck thinks of it, the Golden Age!
Heaven forbid a lawyer have a bad day.

Wow. Something's wrong with you, boy...
Poor Josh Gardner. He’s on vacation for the Fourth of July holiday; he’s done his best to act professionally (as the Judge notes on the record as the hearing begins), but he is blindsided by a Trump Tweet just like the Court and the Plaintiff attorneys and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and the whole country were.
So Gardner has to appear for this hearing via teleconference, probably with very limited opportunity to reach anybody in his Department or elsewhere, and has to answer for Trump. When nobody can,
Judge hazel has shown he doesn't care about the question of who has the franchise, well we know in Baltimore observance of the law in general is an optional thing
I havent seen Chuck this happy since the dems won the House in 2018.
Naturally, Chuck is wrong on the facts again..(and always in the leftists direction)
Here's a more sober and in point view of todays events:
"This is all fun and games for the left but the fact of the matter here is that Hazel is not only hostile to what the administration is doing, he’s irrelevant. The only question hanging out there is whether Justice and Commerce can cobble together a plausible rationale that will pass the smell test for 5 justices on the Supreme Court.
No one really cares about the lawsuit in Hazel’s court because he doesn’t have the authority to impose an injunction preventing the mailing of the forms or their processing as that is an enumerated responsibility of the Executive in the Constitution. If he did try to do that, he would be in direct conflict with the Supreme Court which would have already allowed the question into the Census. The only reason his injunction is still in place is because the case in his court was not the one heard by the Supreme Court.
The strategy in Hazel’s court is to try to throw up enough obstacles to the Census going out with the citizenship question in a timely fashion that the Administration will have to fold. If the Administration makes it across the hurdle set by SCOTUS, the odds of a nothingburger case like the one here derailing the Census approaches zero. The single important thing that happened here was that the government was given an immaterial deadline to declare its intentions. If it doesn’t, the only thing happens is that a bunch of lefties get to masturbate to fantasies of Trump getting a comeuppance when the case Hazel is overseeing restarts."
Well, lefties & LLR-lefties.
LOL: "immaterial deadline"
Its interesting to read what real non-lefty/obama lawyers have to say about things.
Lefty/dem/LLR "victories" are in short supply so its funny to watch our far left posters like Chuck celebrate like this.
Looks like Chuck will be hitting that bottle a little harder soon...

This is confusing. Isn't it an enumerated power of the Legislative branch?
Of course, they delegated it to the Executive via legislation years ago, but they could still take that power back if they wanted.
Chuck doesn't give a crap about the country, but poor Josh Gardner...
No, I really do care. I said already that I think a citizenship question could and should be on the census.
I care about the country.
It’s Trump that I do not care about.

I never claimed that Trump was declaring martial law. Indeed, I’d claim that Trump was far from martial law, inasmuch as he wanted a very big Soviet/North Korean-style military parade, and the US military and civilian leadership told him he couldn’t have it. That’s not martial law, that’s presidential fecklessness.
I haven't read all the comments up to this point, so I may be repeating something.
Why not print two versions of the census form - one with and the other without the question. You'll be ready either way. Yeah, it'll cost more but doesn't everything?
Gov't enjoined from printing "second" version

Does anyone here even know what the issue is?
I listened to the oral arguments. Or about half of them. They were boring.
The Supremes don't have any question that they can ask the citizenship question. Even the people that are opposing asking it admit that there is nothing wrong with collecting the information.
The argument, from the opposers, is that asking the question will make the census less accurate. Dept of Commerce says no, it won't affect accuracy.
We've asked it on a bunch of previous censuses, it seems a perfectly legitimate question.
And, according to both sides and, it would seem the Supremes, is a perfectly legitimate question.
Except as it affects census count accuracy.

Notice how Chuck tacitly backed down from his original assertion that the judge is demanding a commitment from the government to proceeding without the question. Now he's saying only that the judge wants this figured out. I wonder if his concession is driven by having finally read the opinion. The court clearly held that the administration has the authority to include the question. It's just a question of whether it wants to make the effort to do so in time.
So, the issue, is that identifying as a citizen, may pose an undue "burden". Civil rights were always so controversial, and we've made great progress since.
Folks are forgetting that there is the new issue of equal protection violation revived by discovery of dead gop operative files. Remanded to maryland district court from fourth circuit under tight deadline for evidentiary hearing. Govt tried to stop that by conceding defeat. friday deadline to either reaffirm concession or submit roadmap for new discovery and trial on equal protection. It was DoJ lawyer Josh Gardner who was on that he transcript, saying that he was trying to figure out what was going on. The lawyer, the plaintiffs, the District judge, and Commerce Secretary Ross all thought it was a done deal. Then Trump started Tweeting, apparently in response to something he saw on Fox News. And so the judge hauled them all into his chambers via a teleconference. In order to set a timetable for committing the SCOTUS ruling into a stipulated order in their case. Everyone had to interrupt their Independence Day holiday to respond to Trump’s Tweet.

Come on, readering.
The Constitution spells out the political basis for the government of this nation, and the census clause was put in there to provide data for the political guidance of Congress and the President in setting suitable policies to ensure successful outcomes.

Democratic Presidential candidate Cory Booker has caused controversy by crossing into Mexico to escort deported asylum seekers back over the border.
The Senator, 50, visited the Mexican border city Ciudad Juarez from El Paso, Texas, to help five women who had previously been sent back to Mexico.
He was joined by immigration rights attorneys and advocates to get the women, who are fleeing domestic violence, admitted back into the US.
However, he has been accused of breaking the law by critics who claimed he violated legislation which prohibits 'bringing or attempting to bring unauthorized aliens into the United States in any manner whatsoever, even at a designated port of entry'.

Readering, I’m cool with you for admitting that. 👍
"We know the proposed citizenship question is politically motivated for sure."
No more so than removing the question in the first place. Maybe less. I can certainly see why having the question on the census is superior to not having it, without any "political" considerations.
So the SC now decides on what is or is not printed?
Since Roberts punted, not forbidding but sending it back down the chain, obviously there is some validity to Trump's claim.
So print the questionnaire WITH the question and you can instruct the Census takers on whether to ASK the question or not.
Easy peasy.
