It'd be that much clearer

I think this is a comic-rape fantasy and really should be on SNL, if anywhere. Only no one can imagine anyone in this day and age having a comic-rape fantasy, least of all about Donald Trump and a liberal lady. But this liberal lady has been pushing the boundaries all her life with jokes and - well, look at the clues. First of all she herself has mentioned that rape fantasies are fun for her. Then: Bergdorf has no sales clerks, the fitting rooms are empty, a man goes into the ladies' fitting rooms without notice, the Liberal Lady is wearing very high heels (and that's the sort of comic part of the scene as she struggles to keep her balance), Liberal Lady must be wearing stockings of one kind or another since she's in high heels - why don't the pantyhose or stockings/girdle inhibit the action? This all unreal.

Another sign that she isn't serious: She tells this story in a book and then she's surprised when CNN takes her story seriously. Really?

"I think most people think of rape as being sexy -- think of the fantasies," she said.

How FUCT is that. It this a statement of diversity or a principled observation? Perhaps an inference with the hope to normalize a fringe sexual orientation.

Law and Order says their stories are from today's headlines. Everybody "in the know" in NYC knew about the rape, so the series decided to do a show on it.

You seem awfully certain that Ms. Carroll is lying. I don't know how you can be so certain. Feel free to share that part if you can.

I don't know if she is lying. Repeatedly, I have said that I cannot say what the truth is about her allegations.

But unlike you, I know that Trump is lying about Ms. Carroll, and I can tell you exactly how we all know that. Trump said that he had never met her in his entire life. And that is certainly not true. And it has certainly been untrue in the past on many other occasions when Trump has gotten into credibility fights with different people and claimed that he had never even met them, only to be shown time and time again that there is no doubt but that Trump had met them.

Trump is a stone cold, sociopathic, regular, repeating liar.

Remember how concerned the New York Times was about Juanita Broaddrick? Had they gone after Bill on much harder evidence, including a witness who testified on threat of perjury to finding her in the hotel room bloody and crying, I would maybe respect them a tiny bit more. From the Wikipedia entry on Roy Cohn, as regards Pixies:
"When Cohn brought on G. David Schine as chief consultant to the McCarthy staff, speculation arose that Schine and Cohn had a sexual relationship. Speculation about Cohn's sexuality intensified following his death from AIDS in 1986. Although some historians have concluded the Schine–Cohn friendship was platonic, others state, based on the testimony of friends, that Cohn was gay. During the Army–McCarthy hearings, Cohn denied having any "special interest" in Schine or being bound to him "closer than to the ordinary friend." Joseph Welch, the Army's attorney in the hearings, made an apparent reference to Cohn's homosexuality. After asking a witness, at McCarthy's request, if a photo entered as evidence "came from a pixie", he defined "pixie" as "a close relative of a fairy". Though "pixie" was the name of a camera model name at the time, the comparison to "fairy", a derogatory term for a homosexual man, had clear implications. The people at the hearing recognized the slur and found it amusing; Cohn, however, later called the remark "malicious", "wicked", and "indecent.""

No. Trump's having said, "I never met her in my life," is literally and figuratively untrue. Trump has now been hammered about it in the press, and has not clarified it or walked it back. Does Trump now admit that he met her, but claims that it was a casual, forgettable one-time meeting?

And then there is the fact that Trump has repeatedly used this falsehood attack. With other female accusers, and with regard to others with whom Trump finds himself locked in controversy. He must think that it works for him and that the lie is less damaging than the controversy of the moment. But they are lies nonetheless.

The expert's advice: get a guy stimulated into a frenzy of sexual tension and excitation, expressing his eternal love, and begging for the slightest sexual favor. According to Prof. Althouse, legally speaking, even after all that stimulation a woman (or man) can still exercise right of refusal at the last minute. I don't find that a realistic expectation. Back in the day once I was past adolescence (where kissing and making out is OK, intercourse is NOT) I came to the conclusion that there was absolutely no point in heavy petting unless you intended to have intercourse.

I watched a Youtube interview with Shonda Rhimes where she discussed her total stalking level infatuation with men characters she had created in Grey's Anatomy. Shonda Rhimes talks about the men of Grey's Anatomy This leads me to ask, if someone really believes their fantasy is it still a lie? Yes it is not true, but that doesn't mean the fantasy isn't "real" and deeply felt by her. IOW, the subconscious mind doesn't distinguish between fantasy and reality.

Your reaction, if asked about such people, would be to say, "I don't remember him/her." I've been in many receiving lines, etc.

Not, "I never met her in my life."

And if you did claim that "I never met her in my life, and you were then shown the picture of you at the wedding, outside of the receiving line, chatting with her; damn right I'd expect you to say, "Sorry, I may have been mistaken. I did not recall meeting her but it appears I did meet her."

It’s more important that the POTUS never be accused of anything than that he has little interest in foreign wars. Yeah, Iran almost provoked him into one, but he made the right call. She poured gasoline on the civil war in Syria by sending in weapons, the resulting waves of refugees from these two ham fisted military misadventures.

Here's a bit of comic relief, perhaps:

During the Kavanaugh hearings many of us learned a new word "Boof" which, in Kavanauh's teenage milieu meant "fart".

I don't recall ever hearing the word before in that context and, based on discussions here, in the press and in the hearings, not many others had either. Much merriment was had discussing the word.

We all apparently lead sheltered lives. Ms Loony Tunes was using the word as far back as 11/2/2007.

She made a YouTube video titled "I boofed my best friend's boyfriend"

She is doing he advice thing and someone has written in to say that they had fucked their besfriends boyfriend and asked her advice on what to do.

Well, the boyfriend is male and thus a scumbag. The bestfriend must be told what a scumbag he is and if the writer won't do it, she should send Ms LT the name and address and she will tell her herself!!

It is pretty amazing video. Kind of horrifying, actually, that there are women out there who seem to take her advice seriously.

But the funny part was that her use of "boof".

So not that this cleared up, that we now know that Kavanaugh was lying both literally and figuratively about the definition of the word, we can begin im

An article in the New Yorker? I don't even need to read it to know that it doesn't feature, get this, the episode of Law and Order that this mental patient cribbed her rape fantasy from. (Thanks to TheBradfordFile.) I like to think Michael Avenatti at least employed some measure of creativity with his ludicrous client's fraudulent testimony, as opposed to propping up a woman who takes rape fantasies from others and claims they happened to her... but he's under indictment, unlike the President, so who can tell?

It's interesting that the other lawyers on this blog think that such glaring blindness to visible fraud can be excepted, while they demand the President have eidetic memory about every single person he may have been photographed next to. But the American people can see chuckservative lawyers for the subhumans they are, and aren't confused by the obnoxious pedantry.

We can count the frauds- Swetnick, Mattress Girl, Tawana Bradley, Mangum the Ugly Stripper- but this fraud didn't last a week before exposing countless "intellectuals" as credulous mongoloids.

In light of the picture (that you demanded, and did not know existed) being featured in wide distribution all over the media, Trump not walking back his claim that he "never met this person in [his] life" makes him a laughable fabricator. Especially when he did it with Matt Whittaker.

This isn't the first time that blowhard Trump has claimed that he "never met" someone. Trump should get raked over the coals for this cavalier use of words and shameless disregard of facts and other people.

Don't believe it, Amanda. You are correct; the Althouse commentariat has self-selected itself into a vast majority of Trump cultists. For her part, Althouse would most likely say: (1) she rarely opines directly about the merits or demerits of any actual Trump activity; and (2) her blog-comments moderation leans toward free speech. Mostly.

She likes to blog about Trump-as-communicator. She is also sympatico with Scott Adams, who claims to not be aligned with Trump policy, but whose entire work seems aimed at defending Trump at every turn.

You're right of course, about the crude, thuggish, Trump-cult demeanor of much of Althouse's comments pages. I think she does not like it; she says she does not like it. But she is not sufficiently interested or motivated to do much about it. She's tried a couple of different moderation schemes but as of today you can see how they work. Page after page after of Trump cultists naming me for personal attacks. Her commenting instructions tell readers to "avoid personal back-and-forth with other commenters." But stick around and you will see comments pages where I have not even posted a comment but where many of Althouse's regulars attack me personally, and usually without any apparent reference to the subject of her blog post.

It's a shit show, and I have called Atlhouse out on it repeatedly. She doesn't like me, for several reasons as far as I can tell. First and foremost, my general and specific criticism of Trump runs against the grain of her collection of Trump fans. So that calls attention to me, and her commenters love to attack me personally (rather than defend the specifics of Trumpisms), and its a downward spiral. I think Althouse would rather I not defend myself. But I really got sideways with Althouse and Meade when I began to call attention to the gulf between her commenting rules (long since abandoned and replaced) and the near-complete lack of enforcement of them.

It is 100% the Era of Trump that is responsible for all of this as it relates to me. I've been an Althouse commenter for many years before the 2016 election and I was relatively little-noticed. My politics were pro-Walker, pro-Snyder, pro-Kasich, pro-Romney Republican. I supported the Republicans in the Wisconsin Supreme Court battles. I ridiculed the Wisconsin John Doe investigations law. I enjoyed Althouse's fisking of Madison's media and politics. (And I really became an Althouse fan as a fan of her law posts.) I have been a Federalist Society member and often quoted Justices Scalia and Thomas (and then Roberts) at length when we were discussing the triumvirate of homosexual rights cases (Lawrence, Windsor and Obergefell) which was another area of disagreement between Althouse and me. But nothing like what is seen on her blog's comments pages now.

My politics didn't change one bit. What changed was the social atmosphere surrounding Trump.

Amanda: I wish I were on it.
Elyot: I wish you were too.
Amanda: There's no need to be nasty.
Elyot: Yes, there is every need. I've never in my life felt a greater urge to be nasty.

On a more serious note, Chuck describes many of the commentariat here, as Trump Cultists.

From what I can see, the commenters here are pretty well educated and my guess is if you looked at household income, it would be pretty high. Probably a bit on the older side. Lawyers are a bit over represented among her readers. More Male from the commentors. And probably pretty White.

So what would cause this demographic, to become for the most part, pretty Pro Trump?

Why are they willing to put up with Trump's:

- Over the top style.
- His uncouth, shattering of what is considered polite, saying when he thinks something is stupid, and saying it's stupid.
- His name calling on twitter, such as branding Jeb Bush as low energy, instead of using a proxy.

Why Indeed?

1. Trump is just a symptom of frustration with a system where the elites, elected politicians, education, Hollywood, technology, and media are for the most part out of touch with them.

2. Trump connects culturally, and these other organizations consider them deplorables and wrong think. He treats their interests with respect, and does not consider them deplorable.

3. They are tired of supporting candidates that don't fight, and allow the other side to take advantage of them. The Jacksonian culture HATES being taken advantage of.

4. They are highly cynical of the MSM, politicians, and have a low trust for anything they say. They feel lied to with slanted, biased news. They often look at other sources. They have been red pilled on their outlook on the world.

5. They are tired of being labeled as the aggressor, that it's their fault due to the race, sex, etc. they were born as.

6. Anonymous Commenting allows many to voice opinions publically, they would not dare to because of the real threat of doxing and other reprisals to their livelyhood.

some SWAG's. Perhaps Ann also got readers, such as I, from when she did guest blogging over at Instapundit. And we liked what we saw, and continued to stop on by. So blame Glenn!
