4 days ago, I said "if Democrats want to really fight in Wisconsin, they have a magnificent opportunity in Ben."

Here.

And this afternoon, I see that Ben has won! Ben Wikler is the new Chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Fantastic!

Yay Ben!

Good news for the Democrats, bad news for Wisconsin.

Bad news for Retrumplicans.

So, how does fantastic Ben differ from the average Medicare-for-All, open-the-borders, Green-New-Deal, tax-the-rich, impeach-Trump, pro-Wisconsin-lawfare prog? Or is this another case of Althouse acting on mere sentiment?

It's shocking that the Dems have chosen someone who has never had a real job! He could be the next Joe Biden. [correct me if i am wrong].

People change.

Nah, Ann doesn’t vote democrat. Heh

“Fantastic!” That must be one of those fancy cruel neutrality words, because otherwise it looks like a tell.

"Bad news for Retrumplicans."

Last month it was Mueller, this month Ben somebody.

Keep hope alive!

Thankfully, high speed rail is dead with little chance of revival. OTOH, I have mixed feelings about Ben's support for impeachment. It would probably be bad for the Democrats, but likewise bad for the country.

Sentiment. All that matters is tribal membership.
Interests and sentiment follow.
It’s not about individuals.
You can admire an enemy, he could be your father or brother, but he is still an enemy.

Brother will fight brother until the wars are over.
But as long as there is something to fight about, some net advantage over the cost of the conflict, they will continue.

Maybe he will give the Althouse/Jaltcoh entities ringside seats at the convention.
Sadly, Barrette lost his ask to extend his train in vain to the Fiserve..awww...

Considering that Priebus moved on to DC after engineering a Republican takeover of Wisconsin and Walker lost immediately after that, I suspect that the Wisconsin Republican party can be rolled by an aggressive attacker. Ben is wrong for America but he’ll probably do well in that lefty state.

Wisconsin Republican party rose to the occasion re recent state SC election...giving Ingas the sads.

Fantastic!

Democrats now have a new young face pushing:

Open borders.

Endless War.

Higher taxes and regulations.

Crony free trade.

High unemployment and low growth.

Gun control.

Censorship.

Spying on political opponents.

Guilty until proven innocent.

Ben Wikler and everyone who supports democrats are dishonest enemies of freedom.

Does Ben Walker have a sense of upstate Wisconsin or is he a quintessential Madison boy? Recall that Paul Soglin got no traction outside of Dane County.

chickelit said...

Where does Ben Wikler stand on gun control? This issue alone could sink his leadership statewide.

Birkel said...

How does Ben feel about Free People?
How does Ben feel about Free Markets?

It might be better for the people of Wisconsin if he supported freedom of the people.

Seeing Red said...

All he wants to do is “help” like Obama.

So let me get this straight. The folks who put Wisconsin in the Trump column in 2016, are going to swing to Warren in 2020 because the Dems have a new leader who got his start with MoveOn, is that it? It doesn’t make sense to me, but Althouse ought to know more about Wisconsin than I do.

To the left! To the left! To the left, left, left! Backwards March!

I feel liked I'm being trolled. My first turn off , he worked with MoveON.

But then again I don't live in Wisconsin.

So back to bribing enough homeless in Milwaukee with cigarettes and driving them around to multiple polling stations to win.

Has anyone politely asked Althouse what exactly is fantastic about this? If not, I am now. Who knows, it might be...

Fight?

Either Trump is a fascist dictator who's shredding the Constitution and must be stopped for the good of the country, or the Dems have lost their damn minds.

Hint: The Mueller Report was not kind to the party of "Trump is a Russian Agent and must be removed from office".

Kevin said...

Trump: Let's make America great again!

Dems: We will stop you by any means necessary!

America: Wait, what?

After the attempted coup on the legitimately elected President of the United States, how can anyone with a soul still call themselves a Democrat?

I left the GOP because when they finally had the power to stop the Omnibus nonsense, they passed. But this, this is like taking a shot at JFK.

If you still identify as a Dem there is something very wrong with you.

Oh hell, just ask him about high-speed rail.

MadisonMan said...

Has anyone politely asked Althouse what exactly is fantastic about this?

She knows him. All Politics are personal!

exhelodrvr1 said...

Is Ben OK with using the IRS against conservative groups? How about with the FBI and CIA spying on the REpublicans?

JAORE said...

Well that wasn't neutral. But it also wasn't cruel. Temporary lapse or a peak behind the shear curtain?

Ice Nine said...

I know she knows him. That's especially why I asked the question.

Achilles said...

It is necessary to point out that MoveOn.org got it's start trying to convince the Nation to let the rapist Bill Clinton off the hook and "move on."

Contrast that to their position on Trump impeachment.

Ben Wikler is a hypocrite.

"Fantastic"

I'm glad Inga has something to brighten her dreary life. News hasn't been very good for her lately.

Fantastic!

I wonder if Ben has any problem with his Dems repeating the "very fine people" lie. It seems unlikely since good Dem strategists use oft repeated lies effectively rather than stupidly.

mccullough said...

The Dem National Convention is in Milwaukee next summer so he should get some good publicity then.

If Trump wins Wisconsin again it will be blamed on him, not the actual nominee.

Seeing Red said...

He’s passionate about putting his progressive ideas into action?

The Full Venezuela it is!
