"Yes, I came very, very close to leaving the Earth. Good news, I didn’t.... Even people who are not huge fans of mine have actually said nice things about me."

"We all know that’s going to change when I get back, but for right now, it’s brilliant!"

Said Whoopi Goldberg, who nearly died of pneumonia.

Death is not leaving the Earth. It's returning to the earth.

Never agree with her on much of anything, but loved her movies and am very glad she's still here.

Pneumonia is scary.

Double pneumonia--so not just pneumonia, but pneumonia pneumonia.

I don't know who the "non-fans" are that cared about her when she was sick, but I assume Whoopi has some specific people in mind. If they are non-fans because she has said nasty things about what they do or say or believe, she might think about whether they might be better people than she's been giving them credit for.

Amazing and wonderful healthcare is just 90 miles off the Florida Coast in Cuba. Why didnt she just go there?

Hope she recovers nicely. I try to refrain from politicizing health issues. We all gotta pay the piper some day.

I have had pneumonia a few times. It sucks. I am glad she beat it.

Why didn’t she get the vaccine? Is she a vac-denier?

Tank has had pneumonia a couple of times and gladly got the vaccine. Pneumonia was painful, the vaccine was not. Now the shingles vaccine, that was painful.

Lucky we still have Kathy Griffin to will the gross lefty female comedienne spot

It's not the people who regularly disagree with her that wish their political opponents to die off. I'm glad she and RBG are doing well.

Whoopi already left earth when she ran that bar on the starship Enterprise.

I don't think Whoopi inspires that much hatred. I don't think it's hateful to be wrong on most issues, and she's frequently wong in a likable way.......Pneumonia isn't the worst way to make your exit. It's preferable to one of those diseases that you have to struggle with for a year or two, and that's what happens when you get old and survive a bout with pneumonia. Be ironic if she got whooping cough and died from that. Ironic probably isn't the right word.

Hate her fat guts. Hope she suffers every minute of the rest of her life. Die, pig, die!

I've had the two pneumonia shots, and the old and the new (double) shingles shots in the past few years. The first, original shingles shot didn't hurt, the first pneumonia shot (23 strains) didn't hurt, but the second shot of the new shingles shot pair, and the second pneumonia shot (13 strains), both caused pretty nasty reactions.

Your mileage may vary.

A friend of mine has spent hours on the phone trying to find/get on a list for the shingles vaccine. How come all you midwesterners are able to get one?

I've had pneumonia. Almost died. Of course, waiting until I almost died to go the hospital.

Knew I'd die if I didn't go. No one talks about the pain, physical pain.

Glad Whoopie made it through.

I have had elderly family members who have nearly been killed by pneumonia. I would imagine that after age 60, it probably is a good idea to get the vaccines if they are effective.
