People who fought hard to help Trump get elected were robbed of the

goodfeelz that people who fought hard to get Obama elected got in the first 2 years of his presidency

when almost all the talk (From Democrats) was about how he was a great guy who the country was lucky to have as president or (from the Bush Republicans) was how we needed to let him show what he was worth, if he could handle the job

well Trump is more of a great guy than Obama, we all know that now

Trump is not going to throw in his lot with those who would encourage sedition or criminal treason against an elected president of the United States even if his chosen successor loses

but Obama did throw in his lot with seditious people

now all we need to know is if Obama did it knowingly or through ignorance

tell me I am wrong

By the way the anti-Trump liars won, in the way they most wanted to win..

If they had given Trump the minimally decent respect they should have - the respect that Obama, as a duly elected President, got from the Republicans, Trump would not have nominated a centrist squish like Kavanaugh, we would have Gorsuch and another Alito on the Supreme Court, not Gorsuch and a second Anthony Kennedy squish. Getting another Kennedy on the Supreme Court, in their eyes, was worth all the lying, was worth the 500,000 lying stories in the once-respected, now ridiculed, media. They are not honest people, but dishonest people often win their tactical battles.

Hope I am wrong, but I usually am not.

Me, too, but I also want all the FISA warrants and the FBI 302 reports. The next GOP Congress should pass a law requiring FB I interviews to be recorded. Trump might be able to do it by EO but it needs to be a statute for the next Democrat president.

roesch/Voltaire are you serious?? I had it on for about two minutes and it was like they stole a page out of the Dateline playbook. They were framing the president in the same fuzzy black and white stills, with the same ominous music in the background, as that show does when they’re introducing the audience to the rapist/murderer of the week. It is shocking to me what people on the left consider fair and balanced reporting.

tim in vermont said...

Now people who haven’t seen the Mueller report are calling the summary “deeply dishonest.” And apparently there are people out there who were seriously hoping that Trump would be hanged for treason.

@Stephen Cooper: I think President Trump’s SCOTUS nominees have been pretty much the same caliber we would have got from a President Cruz or Rubio (or Pence). Mainstream Federalist Society textualists. I hope that will tamp down some of the crazy in the adult Democrats if the court packing issue comes up. Best would be if Justices Ginsburg and Breyer resign while President Trump is in office. That will cut down on the 5 to 4 decisions that get folks so riled up.

Today, March 25th, is known to Catholic faithful as the Feast Day of The Annunciation of Mary. I will tell you, that the desire to bond with this faith in general, and with Mary in particular, has been a blessing to me. She received the Word in a dream, and it has been revealed that hers was a life that was long prepared for this moment. So, I adore this day anew, and let it rest, and sleep with the understanding that the sun will rise tomorrow, and that it will bring all new grace to us. I know my road ahead is full of thorns, and I only ask for mercy, and to be able to walk through the next door, no matter how narrow. Adore all life, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant it may seem. No love lost.

My fiction piece, entitled, "The Four of Us." This is a crime noir piece that felt correct to do at the time, even though I've left a very important piece out. I'll just say that the protagonist spent time, "inside," and learned how to see the sky, even though there were iron bars and a heavy ceiling. I won't re-write it; instead this part will go into some future project. Anyway, if you please, enjoy, and remember that I actually don't give a rat's arse if you enjoy it, because I got off making this.

Huh. This one goes out to rhardin.

It's been 50 years since I passed puberty, and I have been dealing with women one way and another for most of those five decades, with what I would have to call qualified success. But I just this moment realized the answer to a question that has perplexed me the whole time; Why do they sometimes insist upon having a great big fight, which ultimately provokes you to say, "Look, that's how it's going to be. I have absolutely had enough, and the issue is closed!"? And having seemingly lost said great big fight, which you did everything you could to avoid, why does she appear to be completely satisfied with the outcome?

Well, it's simple. She has decided, after careful and painstaking calculation, that what you want to do is the best idea on the table. But she doesn't want to admit she was wrong, and allowing you to bully her into doing it "your way" lets her take the moral high ground next time. Besides, it's hilarious how you wake up the next morning, going "Oh, God, how mad is she?", and expecting a renewed battle, and she's just going about her affairs, humming. La, Te-Da. What would you like for breakfast, O my Lord and Master?" They must think we're the biggest saps.

See, to admit you were right would involve climbing down from a whole lot of utterly ridiculous positions that were taken at one point or another during the argument, and would further provide an opportunity for a sickening amount of "So, you see, I was right!" on your part. Ick! Whereas, provoking you into a screaming match, hopefully one in which you say several things you deeply regret later and sincerely hope won't be brought up for future discussion, is without any serious downside. Plus, there is always the fundamental dynamic of "Johnny, Get Angry";

I want a brave man,
I want a Cave Man,
Johnny show me that you care, really care, for me!

Which was written by a man, but a man who understood women.

Fra LIppo Lippi has a magnificent painting of the Annunciation.

The fact that his model was a nun and the mother of his famous son, Filippo Lippi, also called incorrectly,. Fillipino Lippi should be ignored,. Lippi, the father, was raised in a monastery by monks from childhood. Eventually, he and his model were released from their vows and married.

It has been said that the pope granted Lippi a dispensation for marrying Lucrezia, but before the permission arrived, Lippi had been poisoned by the indignant relatives of either Lucrezia herself or some lady who had replaced her in the inconstant painter's affections.[7]

His paintings are magnificent.

I think you are wrong. People are sick of investigations and they don't want to investigate Obama. It's called a bridge too far. What I think people would accept is investigations looking at exonerating and paying damages to General Flynn, Carter Page, Roger Stone and the others. In other words look at FISA abuse and look at how admissions were extorted in relation to achieving justice for these citizens, not in relation to "It's out turn now, get Comey, Brennan et al."

So many important people so irrevocably severed from reality. I've always poo-pooed any of the overwrought civil war/End of the Republic talk but, jeez, watching these people you realize that it's going to require something seriously cathartic to restore these people to sanity.

Don’t know the extent to which the departed have any knowledge of the goings on in this life. But if Mary knew the worship given her by so many misled by the Catholic Church, she would be horrified, being the saint she is. I am grateful for so much truth about God I got from the Church in my youth as a Catholic but so very glad to have been born again into real life in Christ who was born of Mary conceived by the Holy Ghost. She might well be honored but is not to be worshipped.

What:

The Science Museum of Virginia’s Rat Basketball Association is preparing for the March Ratness tip off with the 11th annual Final Fur Tournament. New this year: the games happen during Science After Dark, the popular monthly after-hours event.

Museum educators have trained female Norway Rats to pick up a small plastic ball and put it through a simulated basketball hoop. Whiskered players will represent the final teams of their college compatriots as they go head to head in this unique tournament. Just like the NCAA version, the Museum’s Final Fur Tournament has the potential for exciting shots, stunning upsets and unlikely champions.

Demonstrations during the event, happening at 6 and 7 p.m., include announcer commentary, crowd-pumping music, rat trivia and more."

@sodal ye, high-ranking members of the Obama administration abused a legal apparatus put in place to protect the citizens of the US in order to spy on at least one campaign by the opposite party, then spent two years trying to oust a duly-elected President. That may be par for the course where you come from, but clearly people need to be punished in order to deter this from ever happening again. That may look like ”retaliation” to you, but laws were abused and people have been abused and other people who imagined themselves above the law need to learn otherwise.

An outsider (I’m not American) wonders at this point what retaliation looks like, whether it will come, and whether it’s the smart thing to do.

1) Cooler heads will support some legal or investigative remedy. That will fail because the system is corrupt and the Deep State will subvert the Rule of Law. Does anyone think the "Lightbringer" will serve a day in jail?

2) Republican Cuckholds will support "taking the high ground" because it's "time to move on". That will only ensure that the Dems will do this again (as per Kavanaugh and Covington), but that's with the Republican Cucks get off to - being shamed and humiliated.

3) So I support vigilante mobs chasing down the culprits and hanging them as they find them. Because that's the only thing the Left will understand. They've been playing outside the rules for quite some time, and they will continue to cheat until they are reminded what that actually entails. Better yet, execute their immediate family and leave them alone wandering in despair as an object lesson for any who would even consider doing this again. Unfortunately, Republicans are pussies who take for granted that Trump stood fast and the attempted coup scored some own goals that handicapped their effort.

So what will really happen? A combination of 1 & 2, leading to nothing, no consequences. And 4 or 8 or 12 years from now, the Democrats will launch a smarter coup, a weaker Cuck Republican President will resign (see: Sessions, recusal) or bumblefuck his way into impeachment & removal from office (see: Bush, Katrina) and a senile Pelosi will be sworn into office, appointing Hillary as VP to ensure a 12 year "transformation" of America. And I will be surrounded by "principled" Republicans in the gulag all lamenting "Gosh darn, what else could we have done?".

You can't say: now we are going to retaliate and conduct a fair and impartial investigation which we intend to implicate and prove the guilt of the former President and the losing Presidential candidate.

But you can say we are going to investigate the process by which Michael Flynn and others pled guilty when we now know they were innocent because there was no Russia collusion; we are going to investigate why there were assault rifles trained on Roger Stone when there was no Russia collusion; we are going to investigate the unmasking of citizens and the consequences to them when there was no Russia collusion. People who had to spend hundreds of thousands to defend themselves from Robert Mueller's tactics are going to get a chance to explain those tactics and get justice for the abuse of power those tactics represent. The networks should be apologizing to them. And so should Mueller for dragging out the investigation. Why did he take so long and harm so many? Don't for get that sixty-three million people, Trump voters who supported Trump the whole time, were never taken in by the Russia collusion lie. It wasn't impossible to see through it almost at once. It was improbable like the Jussie Smollett thing and the evidence was weak and silly. John Brennan, head of the CIA couldn't see through that ever, but Sundance at Conservative Treehouse could. James Comey, head of the FBI, was too incompetent to see through it ever but Catherine Herridge could.
