I thought we were rats. But now we're cats. OK - lets put on a Broadway show!
And lets hire Joan Walsh who's all upset because NINE Years ago, Tucker called her a Cunt. But the pussies at "The Nation" who hate "vulgar language" - say she was called a C**T. Anyway, Joan is one puss that needs a boot.
Okay, so I got this today from a grad school buddy, & I know that probably no one but me & Paddy O give a shit (maybe not even him...), but I'm posting it anyway. It ain't gonna hurt ya none, especially if ya don't read it!
Yeah! That’s right! Catholic theology’s gotta stick with philosophy that’s theologically safer! Like, ya know, Heidegger….
I always assumed that, while there are many schools of Catholic thought (e.g. like the Thomists & the Heideggerians) that would be hostile to Hegelian influence, that he had just snuck into Catholic theology through postwar historical studies (e.g. Danielou) & by ricochet off of Protestant theologians like Pannenberg & Moltmann. It’s not like Catholic theology students don’t do dissertations on Protestants anymore, like you know, Pope Benedict who did his dissertation on LUTHER! That the Hegelian influence was not always recognized or admitted by the author doesn’t change the fact that it was often there. It must be said, however, that after Feuerbach, Marx, and many more besides, just what can be claimed as “Hegelian” is a broad & moving target..
...The government of Finland collapsed Friday due to the rising cost of universal health care and the prime minister’s failure to enact reforms to the system.
Prime Minister Juha Sipila and the rest of the cabinet resigned after the governing coalition failed to pass reforms in parliament to the country’s regional government and health services, the Wall Street Journal reports. Finland faces an aging population, with around 26 percent of its citizens expected to be over 65 by the year 2030, an increase of 5 percent from today.
It’s not just Finland experiencing such problems with its socialist policies. Other Nordic countries, also touted by American socialists and communists as the model America should follow, are suffering similar economic burdens directly related to their socialist policies.
The Washington Free Beacon continues:
Reuters reports that soaring treatment costs and longer life spans have particularly affected Nordic countries.
“Nordic countries, where comprehensive welfare is the cornerstone of the social model, have been among the most affected,” according to Reuters. “But reform has been controversial and, in Finland, plans to cut costs and boost efficiency have stalled for years.”
Similar problems are bedeviling Sweden and Denmark, two other countries frequently held up as models to follow on health care. Finland’s crisis in particular comes as calls for universal health care have grown louder among Democrats in the United States....
As special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is reportedly coming to an end, elderly and sick Americans are trying to hold on to their lives so they can read the highly-anticipated report that has been nearly two years in the making.
World War II veteran Mitchell Tendler—a man who survived numerous historic milestones, including the Korean War, Vietnam, Watergate and President BIll Clinton’s impeachment—fell sick on Dec. 29, at 93 years old, reported NPR.. - Newsweek
Both NPR and Newsweek thought that this was newsworthy.
I saw the Ricky Gervais series, After Life, on Netflix. Gervais has a malicious and evil sense of humor. He flirts with violating the norms of political correctness, but, in the end, his targets are almost exclusively white, heteronormative men. He takes particular relish in dumping on overweight white men, and, if they have beards or red hair, he goes into paroxysms of malignancy. There are a few laughs and it's worth viewing, but he's a sheep in wolf's clothing. I'd like to see a few jokes at the expense of gay black men before I die. Who will be the first comedian to make fun of Jussie Smollett? ......I used to think that there was nothing to nihilism, but then I got into Schopenhauer. Very clear, well thought out positions. Lot to be said for nihilism........Ricky Gervais has a nihilistic outlook. Considering all the money that keeps rolling in from The Office and his continued good health, it must be hard to maintain such a downbeat pose. Despair under such conditions must be as difficult as maintaining a smiley face in the leukemia ward, but he persists.

I don’t get why people make a big deal about “dialectics.” Though it makes more sense in terms of politics and psychology, a kind of “Art of the Deal” approach. It seems more like political science than philosophy.

I think it’s wonderful that the Democratic Convention will be held here. Milwaukee gets overlooked so often when it comes to beautiful cities on a Great Lake. Another great thing about Milwaukee is that the Fiserv Forum uses non-union labor so the Dems can cross a picket line to get inside to nominate their Socialist candidate. But maybe Tammy can get the Dems to change their mind and go somewhere more pure like ... Minneapolistan.

I remember as a teen, taking the city bus with my girlfriends on a Saturday to shop, go to the Museum, or Central Library, and have lunch at Big Boy’s on Wisconsin Ave, and in summer walking down to Bradford Beach, all the while being followed by hoards of sailors on leave from Great Lakes.
Isn't it weird how little we know about Venezuela right now? Only because Twitter is down and we now rely on Twitter in these kinds of situations for up to the minute news. Why is the grid down? Why can't they fix it? Is it just that, whatever went wrong, the person who knew how to fix it had left weeks ago for Bolivia? Is it like Puerto Rico - massive neglect and then something stresses the system? Is there running water? Food? Where's the Red Cross? The Pope? Is Maduro keeping them out? or is everyone staying away, knowing the failure is too big for anything?
And any Milwaukeean of a certain age will remember “Cruising the Ave.” on a Friday or Saturday night. The boys with the muscle cars were popular those nights.
Largely that, Bolivias no great shakes either. Remember that plane with the Colombian soccer team it was Transferred from there, maintenance records were hidden because of connected govt officials
Well governments collapse all the time in parliamentary countries. It's not even close to saying the "Finish state collapsed". I'm sure they'll have new elections and let some other lot try squaring the circle.
Inga fondly remembers her youth before socialism came to town. Ahhh yes I also remember the good old days in So California before being overrun with illegal aliens.
Democrats are about to to produce "Making a Murderer III." Staring at the top of the ticket, playing the part of Steven Avery - none other than "Plugs" Biden. The brilliant Brendan Dassey part falls to Jay, "Sky is Falling" Inslee, who thinks he can change the planet. The female leads all get killed off.
"Isn't it weird how little we know about Venezuela right now?" Apparently they forgot where electricity comes from and didn't maintain the equipment. Like Freder they just assumed stuff would always be there. Because. Government. Dopes.
btw - the left love to use Scandinavia as their brave new world example of correct socialism - but the Scandinavian nations are frail and falling apart. You cannot sustain "free stuff for everyone!" forever. It all falls apart at some point.

The government of Finland collapsed Friday
I thought you were kidding.
I Googled it.
You're not.
Well governments collapse all the time in parliamentary countries. It's not even close to saying the "Finish state collapsed". I'm sure they'll have new elections and let some other lot try squaring the circle.
Arguably the UK government should have collapsed several times in the last few months so the electorate could render some sort of verdict.
"... all the while being followed by hoards of sailors on leave from Great Lakes."
Probably never realizing even to this day the bullet they dodged.
Leftism Survives In Darkness
A number of their solutions survive under a veil of darkness, euphemisms, projections, and force.

For all around bad journalism, my go-to source is the Associated Press. Example of the day:

First person mentioned is DJT, Why?
Browsing around the late Stuart period. The term Jacobite floated up. Seems to apply to Never-Trumpers and Deep State bureaucrats.

Get your Rub & Tug @ Mara Lago before meeting with Jr. See Cindy for details. Bob Craft recommended.
That's Kraft as in Cheesemaker - but nowhere close to a Kingmaker.
As Rachel Maddow described it , Rub & Tug is like a regular massage except - you know, turned over.

Apparently they forgot where electricity comes from and didn't maintain the equipment.

Oh my fucking god. “Just in case you aren’t tired of scrolling yet."
She helped me by pointing out that you have to read Hegel as if you were walking on stilts through deep mud.
More like deep bullshit, it seems like to me. “Yes, by all means turn off your critical faculties and come away with me on a magical mystery tour."
Communism, Socialism and Fascism. each one the ugly mutant cousin of the next.
btw - the left love to use Scandinavia as their brave new world example of correct socialism - but the Scandinavian nations are frail and falling apart. You cannot sustain "free stuff for everyone!" forever. It all falls apart at some point.
Democrats LOVE force.
