"... wrote Thursday that Mrs. Trump 'proved that she doesn't understand what it means to be first lady.' This condescending opinion, apparently written in response to a single answer Mrs. Trump gave in a Fox News interview Wednesday, was published just hours after the first lady traveled to Children's National hospital in Washington to read a Christmas story, visit sick children and thank the hardworking hospital staff. CNN has a dedicated reporter who covers Mrs. Trump. But the media consistently ignores the first lady's work on behalf of the people of this country, and children in particular, in favor of more trivial matters. And my defense, here, of the first lady will certainly draw criticism and be framed as another assault on the press, but this predictable reaction won't make my observations any less true."
CNN gives Melania Trump's spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, room to respond to the Kate Anderson Brower piece (which you can read here: "Melania shows she's a Trump through and through"

For many, their hatred of Trump is all encompassing. If Trump personally found a cure for cancer they would attack him for it.
F the Clinton "News" Network.
No News - just corruption supporting a-holes, fake journalists and hacks.
I'm afraid that these attacks on Trump and his family will not stop. Ever. Even after he leaves office.
"yet has never met Melania Trump..."
you don't need to MEET things you Hate; in fact Meeting things you hate often makes you realize that those things are actually people... and that can get in the way of your Hate
I'm just trying to be best.
At least she covers her gorilla biceps
I figured from media reports that Michelle was still the first lady.
Have a lot of racist thoughts like that Howard?
CNN deserves all the shit it gets. In fact, it deserve more shit. And it should be bankrupted, spin it off from the conglomerate and let’s see the numbers.
"In my experience, the people who do not like you fall into two categories: the stupid and the envious. The stupid will like you in 5 years time. The envious never."
- Johnny Depp as John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester (Libertine)
They seeth with envy. But like it said on Melania's jacket, "I don't really care, do you?
Catty bitches.
What DOES it mean to be "first lady"?
If only Bill Clinton had acquired that lofty title.
Jealousy is a nasty drug...

Compare and contrast coverage of Melania (ignored) and Laura Bush (insulted and condescended to) with that of Michelle Obama and Hillary.
It's not news nor is it new. It's how they cover (or refuse to cover) anyone on the left vs right. As Treacher says: Modern journalism is all about deciding which facts the public shouldn't know because they might reflect badly on Democrats.
The ridiculous thing is that they are always acting frustrated and hurt when people question their ability as objective journalists. It's gotten so I chuckle when I hear someone claiming to be a journalist. It's not exactly a highly regarded profession any longer.
I'm thinking of the B word.
CNN doesn't know what it means to just report the news. For them, CNN must be the story.
Our elite betters don't understand how hatefully embittered they are. In many respects they are worse than the mindless Obama haters.
Melania is a beautiful woman married to a billionaire. There is very little about her life that moves me to pity. I don't dislike Melania, but I feel distanced from her.. Nonetheless, she does receive unfair press treatment, On balance, I'd say that whatever negative sentiments I have about Melania are far outweighed by the vibrant hostility I feel towards the feckless cunts who criticize her ........In these precincts, Michelle Obama was sometimes treated unfairly, but in the MSM her coverage was hagiographic. Hillary was so truly awful that even the press couldn't cover for her. Laura Bush was a genuinely kind and decent person. I don't think the press gave her a hard time, but you could tell that they really wanted to,
Cardi B?
Melania shows she's a Trump by how CNN does to her what it does to her husband - CNN misrepresents what she says and makes (unclear how they reached them) assumptions about what it means. There's a lot of mind reading involved.
Kate Brower has "GREEN-EYED MONSTER" tattooed on her forehead in large block letters and lurid colors.
One of the most foolish people I know is glued to CNN and takes everything they throw on air as "news." I often wonder if he ever asks himself whatever happened to the Trumpian horror they revealed the prior week.
Smells like a piece written to sit and wait until a provocation from the target.
A female immigrant who speaks five languages and is focused on her son with a learning disability. Can you imagine the articles if Trump were a Democrat. Sadly there are far too many Americans who unquestioningly believe the gossip media pass along under the labels news and analysis.
CNN is just upset Melania refuses to divorce Trump and give them the story they really want.
Chuck isn't worth the powder to blow him to Hell.
Chuck isn't worth the used kitty litter to fill his pie hole and windpipe.
--People that know Chuck best.
Who has been the most qualified First lady of my historical reference? I think without question it was Nancy Reagan. The gravitas is unequaled. I can think of no other qualification. President Trump's wife comes in second.
That's the objective analysis. Anything else is catty woman on woman hate. A very pedestrian situation. Catty, is an accurate pejorative for a reason.
Journalists, mostly unaccomplished mediocrities, have a need to condescend upward.
The next thing you know this "unqualified First Lady" is going out and find a septic tank leach field on the White House lawn and plant some root vegetables. Nothing like an orange beet (well after all her husband is an "orange man") with a whiff of sewage on it.
But her husband is smart enough not to eat those beets. I dunno about the previous occupant of the White House.
The MSM disgusting treatment of the First Lady is beyond the pale.
Whatever you think of Trump, the 1st Lady has been a class act.
CNN shows it's a bunch of assholes through and through.
Not news, I know.
Are kids across the nation still throwing out their lunches? Because that's what it means to be a First Lady.
She's more intelligent than probably 90% of the people who cover her, but she has to suffer their stupidity.
Don't worry FLOTUS, us deplorables have your back. The democrat party press can F*** off.
My mom spoke 4 languages. It's kind of expected of educated Europeans. She's no moron, but it's way easier to do when you are born into a language few speak outside your small country.
Thank you much esteemed First Lady
**find a septic tank leach field on the White House lawn and plant some root vegetables**
Thanks for the tip. Always wanted to know how to get started in organic gardening.
A Wonderful chance missed to teach USA Slovenia cussing with appendix and footnote in various languages.
I’m thinking more C word. You know, cunt.
CNN hits bottom, and keeps on digging.
If you think LLR Chuck is going to forget that some of you have insulted his beloved CNN, well, then you have another thing coming.
And the fact that CNN was attacking Melania is only going to motivate LLR Chuck to more vociferously defend CNN.
The only thing CNN could have done to motivate Chuck to defend them more passionately would be to attack Barron Trump directly.
Chuck lives for that stuff.
There are literally 0 "requirements" to a First Lady as it is not a real title or job. Thsi is just a way they can attack her and sound important and smart.
The best was the first Dolly Madison.
Laura Bush was a genuinely kind and decent person.
AND, she had a great rack (though demurely underemphasized).

It's not racism, it's pure jealousy; she could punk him anytime and he knows it... The strange thing is, he doesn't know how to feel about that.
"customs and norms of first ladies"?
Well, how about we reach back across the pond and take an example from Denis Thatcher or Cheri Blair (minus the latter's fare-jumping, of course!)
Or the even more laudable attitude expressed by Judith Steinberg Dean when some press droid asked her why she wasn't on the campaign trail with her husband (Howard Dean): "I have a practice to run." (The Deans are both M.D.s)
