"Don't steal, because you could be stealing someone's dream."

(If only thoughts like that were persuasive! But it is kind of sweet.)

It was a trailer. With a hitch. And wheels. Those things get stolen all the time, but I doubt they're often called someones dream.

Redistributive change. Principles matter. Reconcile.

Don't steal. Especially if you need a tow truck to move what you steal and a vacant lot to park it. And leave Doberman Pinschers alone also. You don't seem to understand the business you are in. Suppose someone wants you to steal the Kentucky Derby or an election. Say no, don't start figuring out how you could do it. Stealing is stealthy, my friend.

I once knew some who were folks from East Texas who bragged that their father and mother made a living by quietly hooking up to boat trailers in Longview at night that were out in owner's driveways with the boat on board and driving off. They could not see why I disapproved of that as an honorable career. They said the Insurance Company would pay for it.

sounds like you could make a tort out of something like that!

I'm all for tort reform

having
A) work for an Insurance Company
B) paid the deductible for things that were stolen

I'm not sure that i approve of their honorable career either.
IF you're going to go into that line of business, you should At Least do it the classic way.
You go to the water, and Steal the Truck and the Trailer while they're boating: that way, it's funny

Someone needs to build one of those things, hook up 4 cell phones, pack it with glitter and fart spray, and wait...

I think boobie-trapping to catch a thief is going to be a big thing. Just a hunch.

btw- Heard on the radio today that Denver police (or Aurora police?) have a little porch-package theft sting operation going on. A few decoys with GPS have been randomly placed - awaiting theft.

Good news.

From "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" (Alan J. Lerner/Leonard Bernstein):

Be careful at night
check all the doors
if someone makes off with a dream
the dream will be yours.
Take care of this house,
be always on call,
for this house is the home of us all.

You can lift a virtual home from an internet property and be called a "hero".

I'm surprised that's all you get for 20 grand.

That’s what foundations are for.

“they stole a trailer! Pulled it off w/o a hitch!!”

I thought that was the point - that they had a hitch.

If she used student loan for her *study material* I would give A for innovation in "mortgage borrowing".

There used to be lots of tiny homes in St Louis. But Democrats with big ideas wanted urban renewal. Now they have lots of empty real estate. The north St Louis urban landscape is among the most shocking in the nation.

Fritz Leiber, write a short fantasy story where Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, steal a tiny house by carrying it off. I think that story was the start of my tiny house love. Also the realization that you really should bolt or chain your tiny house to the ground.

If they stole a tiny house used as a tiny store it would be shoplifting.

This story lacks foundation.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Don't steal. Period. Whether it's "someone's dream" or just their stuff, DON'T STEAL.

What part of "Thou shalt not..." is unclear?

Aren't there locks you can put on hitches so at least someone has to work at cutting off the lock before they hook it up and haul it away?
