Writes David Begley in the comments to the first post of the day.
Here's the video clip where I'm declared famous.
ADDED: I see that was "Fox and Friends," President Trump's favorite TV show. Now, I'm hoping for President Trump to call me "tremendously famous"

Our hostess seems particularly feisty this morning. Did they legalize some new recreational drug in Wisconsin recently?
"Who in the hell d'you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are"
McGurn quoted The Professor as if she is a well known resource for reference like a handbook or dictionary. Right on.
Big league.
Well you are a famous blogger.
In fact, you are the "Lou Gehrig of Bloggers" since you have not missed a day in what 12 years? 12 x 365 days = 4,380 days which is almost exactly twice as long as the Iron Horse's 2,160 consecutive games played.
Downright fun...I felt an undeserved vicarious pride.
And - he got your "civility bullshit" idea right - "civility bullshit" = attempts to shut down speech you disagree with. Probably there was a lot of that in Madison. Once again Wisconsin leads the way - Walker, Foxconn, "civility bullshit" and a woman with a mind.
They're trying to shut down the other side. Althouse is the fall guy.
"Look, Ann Althouse, famous blogger, thinks X"
And that's the last word on the matter.
And Althouse will be even more FAMOUS when it is discovered that her husband is missing!
The coffeeshop solution is the only way to save Ann's reputation. Isn't Original Mike there in Madison? It would be better if Bo Ryan was there too. That would cinch it for me.
The bullshit is all in the media and Althouse is being used as a place without it, for as long as it suits them.
Ann throws out the bait, and see what bites. Hopefully she has strong enough line.
So did this guy read the WSJ article or is he a regular Althouse blog reader? Or did somebody else in his universe connect him to either?
In a campaign war room somewhere there's a crazy wall with the connection map.
Bo Ryan will have to talk on a video too. Bo will ask the alleged Meade questions about Wisconsin v. Indiana basketball games. Tom Cruise would not know those answers. Neither would Ted Cruz but I don't think Ann wants to marry Ted Cruz.
The person who said Ann is famous was on TV, so it must be true.
If you remember that the media plays to women, Ann Althouse is a good name to drop.
"Even a woman thinks (their) calls for civility are bullshit." Famous woman, not some nut. High woman-status.
A woman couldn't say that on the air without coming off as a bitch, and aren't high enough status. You want women to want to identify with the woman who asserts this.
Ann throws out the bait, and see what bites. Hopefully she has strong enough line
A very skilled angler can land even a very large fish if he (she/they/them/zhe/zer,etc) play the fish well, with skill and patience. Eventually the fish, who took the bait and is on the hook will get tired and you can reel it in.
Playing the fish is the most exciting and challenging part of fishing.
Althouse seems to be pretty skilled.
How many famous bloggers are left?
Better to be called "tremendously famous" than "tremendously big and tremendously wet."

Now that is an A game comment.

Might happen. Who knows?
A hurricane is like a woman. They come in all exciting and hot and wet and when they leave you have no house and no car.

"Nobody is as famous as Althouse, except me, of course."

Think of Florence as Trump latest girlfriend.
Dear Mr. McGurn,
I am The Crack Emcee: I own a mansion and a yacht.
**pffft**. Scratch, scratch, scratch.
Huh? What? Oh sorry.
When you're a famous blogger, they let you do what you want - you can grab 'em by the pixel.
And the Democrats are a cult.

Total FOX News "A" game material here.
bring our A game can only mean One Thing: Lazlo
and by that i Obviously mean: The Girl with a Ponytail on a Treadmill
BRING HER ON!!
Ann Althouse said...(from a previous post)...I’d prefer to avoid human contact altogether.
Yet you blog, and sometimes can be almost intimate. I remember one instance a couple of weeks ago. I wonder what this means, as I’m exactly the same, preferring to avoid people, yet an open blogger.
Bay Area Guy -- good one!
The Girl with a Ponytail on a Treadmill
The gym has never been the same.
Gosh, and to think I knew her when......
Congratulations! Having more of your voice in the national conversation can only be a good thing.
Looks like the rumors of Meade’s death have been greatly exaggerated.

If you remember that the media plays to women, Ann Althouse is a good name to drop..
Did they even use her first name? Anyway it's not like this is a mommy blog or feminist site or something. Women have to lean in here.
Crack at 8:22 is right! Explains a lot.
I see where Althouse is pretending to be Meade by commenting here. Ha!
Nice try Althouse! But it didn't work in Omaha. We need proof of Meade's life. Bo Ryan's (or Original Mike's) participation is essential to stop this sham of a charade.
Looks like Meade is still exchanging gases.
I certainly hope all this fame does not cause our beloved hostess to go off the deep end.
You can write books in prison but I don't think you can blog from there and it would be a terrible way to end the streak.
The media just realized that Althouse has more credibility with her readers and are hoping to gain some of the credibility via association.
Also Limbaugh recognized her much earlier, so Fox and Friends is a bit slow.
"Playing the fish is the most exciting and challenging part of fishing."
But who's doing the fishing?
Anyway, it wouldn't hurt for the Carlsons and McGurns and Trumps (well, Trump aides) to check in here every once in a while.
Althouse has her own take on things, and is part of the gettable middle.
Many of the righties here express views not well represented in current media, even NR, WSJ, and TWS.
Personalized flame wars aside, many threads also display a different kind of conversation not available elsewhere, thanks to an indulgent hostess and some commenters with skillz.
Have they interviewed Ann yet? You're no one until you're on Fox News.
Then Trump hires you. Win-win!
I've changed my mind. Proof of Meade's life must be at Picnic Point. Too many things could go wrong at a coffeeshop.
And Bo Ryan needs to do this at a place like Picnic Point. He'd get mobbed at a coffeeshop.
Yuuuuge!!!
I'm telling you people that this convicted female Omaha murderer went on for months pretending to be the victim with social media posts and emails. And she wasn't even a law prof. I think she was from Iowa.
I hope they all buy something on Amazon thru your link. Nothing worse than impolite guests.
This Meade charade could be going on for years! When was the last time anyone has actually SEEN Meade?
OWH, "Farver disappeared on Nov. 13, 2012, while on her way to work from the home of the man whom Golyar had been desperately trying to date. Farver failed to pick up her son that day and has never surfaced.
But right away, some of her friends and family started receiving odd text messages from Farver’s phone. They also received erratic, threatening emails and social media messages supposedly written by the missing woman.
Investigators were able to link the emails and messages to Golyar’s computer and other devices. The prosecution contended that Golyar kept up the subterfuge for years to throw investigators off her trail and to continue to harass the man who mostly refused her advances. She even set fire to her own home to portray herself as a victim."
Big Mike at 8:43 is right about Crack at 8:32 being right!
This Meade charade could be going on for years! When was the last time anyone has actually SEEN Meade?
When has anyone actually seen Althouse?
Pictures posted are always of Meade. That is easily done with a tripod and timer.

LOL.
I was going to say, feel free to use that, but I realized I'd be encouraging all sorts of outlandish defamation. That might not be the best way to be famous... as the authority for any crazy thing you'd like to assert.
"So did this guy read the WSJ article or is he a regular Althouse blog reader?"
There's only one McGurn.
I see Althouse is refusing to answer the most pressing question: Where is Meade?
Either we get proof of life at Picnic Point today or Robert Mueller is opening his investigation. And I'm not kidding here.
There's only one McGurn.
Ah. One and same.
You've been McGurned!
Actual election manipulation by mega corporations like Google is ignored - because democrat.
2016 - Google gave SILENT DONATION to Hillary Clinton.
I am McGurnicus!
Reading through the comments here, I'm sorry to see we have disappointed our host. Not one of us has brought their A game as requested.
Where is Laslo when you need him?
Althouse, a blog that will be read in infamy!
Well, there goes the neighborhood.
Reading through the comments here, I'm sorry to see we have disappointed our host. Not one of us has brought their A game as requested.
Wait until the afternoon shift clocks in.
Hmm. Trump hired Kellyanne Conway and still values her skills. Adding Althouse would be an easy move for him. She has already auditioned on Talking Heads.
I am afraid Laslo is the only one of us with an A game to bring.
How about my "K" Game?
What boycott? Nike sales are up 31 percent since the Kaepernick campaign
Not only that, but scientists want standards again - just like I do - so that's my "S" Game:
A Culture of Standards Matters - Perhaps the most dangerous effect of the alternative medicine movement has been an erosion of the culture of dedication to science and standards within medicine. This has to change.
But you will fear my "Z" Game, yes you will. Trust me. My "Z" Game is deadly:
"Cucamonga"
This is my 'A' game.
I think it likely that only the commenters, a rarified audience indeed, read the comments.
Better be careful, Trump gets jealous of people who get more attention than he does, especially on Fox and Friends.
If anyone on the Trump staff reads this, (because we know Trump doesn’t read) I’d suggest signing your op ed next time. Be brave!
From Crack's link:
According to data from Edison Trends, online sales of Nike products jumped 31 percent between the Sunday before and the Tuesday after Labor Day, nearly double last year’s 17 percent increase over the same time period
Unpack that a bit: First give Nike credit for an increase in sales. Way to go. But is it really an increase of 31 percent? No. They are comparing a year over year increase vs the same period last year. That period is the peak back to school week buying period. They are also measuring only online sales, thus they could also be measuring people who changed shopping habits- switching from traditional retail stores, for example.
Nike or the article doesn't give us top line unit sales growth which would give a more accurate measure.

Maybe she doesn’t consider you folks quite human.
Maybe she doesn’t consider you folks quite human.
No, that idea came out of your head where it has little doubt been floating around for some time.
Maybe she doesn’t consider you folks quite human.
A less insane person would interpret that as we aren't really making contact with Althouse by commenting here. Like IRL, ya know.
Maybe she doesn’t consider you folks quite human.
That's why none of us were admonished by Althouse for being repetitive, and none of us threw a hissy fit, called her a bitch, and went off to sulk.
We need a countdown clock. How long has it been since we had proof of life of Meade? Comments by the alleged Meade here do NOT count as Althouse could be faking them.
I've got Robert Mueller on speed dial. Lots of billable hours to spend on Missing Meade.
Ann has told us that her "golden days" of blogging were 10 years ago. And because of the inertia behind that earlier work, she's now getting wider recognition. Hurrah! Here's hoping Instapundit isn't the jealous type.
Ann offed Meade for Bill McGurn. He’s so pleased he can’t keep his mouth shut.
Meade is out looking for the one-armed man.
Lots of billable hours to spend on Missing Meade.
Who'd pay ? Not everyone is as gullible as the feds.

Ann likes Bill’s A game.
"This Meade charade could be going on for years! When was the last time anyone has actually SEEN Meade?" Interesting, is this the beginning of an organic ad campaign to hype AA's blog.
The Crack Emcee said... "...What boycott? Nike sales are up 31 percent since the Kaepernick campaign..."
LOL, while you are 100% correct, that measurement is only "Internet Sales" over a few days - that my friend is not a measure of success. Call us back in 6 months. Moreover, Online Sales are minuscule compared to brick and mortar. Even if we shift the "Total" of the online growth to physical stores, the growth rate would only move brick and mortar sales to 2.2%. Measuring anything online is ok, but don't forget brick and mortar is so massive, online is dwarfed in comparison. Hell, even online giant Amazon is adding brick and mortar to their retail strategy.
My point is let's wait for the totality of Nike's campaign to come to fruition. This kind of investment, is more than several days worth of sales, to be judged a success.
Not one of us has brought their A game as requested.
I left it in my other pants.

I was on Picnic Point this evening. I didn’t see Meade there.
Just sayin’.
"On Goop, Gundry promotes the idea that lectins,...cause diseases...Gundry has also been quoted warning against taking Advil and antibiotics, as well as eating tomatoes, potatoes, corn, and soybeans, among other foods.
In our interview, Gundry described his portion of the Goop editorial as a plea for civility. 'Discussion should always be welcome, but discussion ... has always been at a collegial level, and there’s no shouting or screaming or profanity,' he said. (Paltrow has been quoted using the phrase, 'If you want to fuck with me, bring your A game,' and reportedly has cocktail napkins stamped with the motto.)"
"I asked him where he recommends people get their health advice. 'I’ll toot my own horn, GundryMD.com,' he said, referring people to a site where, alongside a blog with health tips, he sells $70 supplement bottles. 'I personally feel that it’s the best source of health advice. I think there’s other sites, like Mercola.com, which gives very useful health advice.' When I checked Mercola.com, the site of Dr. Joseph Mercola, a few weeks later, a prominently placed ad on its 'vaccine' subsection offered to show readers 'How to Legally Avoid Unwanted Immunizations of All Kinds.'”
This is the cesspool we swim in.
"Gundry said that after he’s interviewed by one of the site’s writers, a separate person will later 'ask for a reference to back up what I say.' (In one Goop post about lectins, Gundry’s views are supported by his own book on the subject.)"
Westword once described me as a "self-described blogger."
