On the way to Colorado?

The sun rises in the same place in Australia, but travels north instead of south.

Wow! Thanks for the wake-up pic.

Prairie sunrises and sunsets are as beautiful as what you see in the mountains/sea shore. Just different! Wave to the left when you go past Lincoln!

Althouse on the move! Traveling! She could have stayed home in her nice blue bubble.

Stop in Omaha for coffee or lunch. I'm right off of I-80.

People write about her heading west but this looks like a shot facing east (as in the sun rises in the east)

David Begley said...

Yes, it does look like Meade is driving to the east. But photos are tricky and Madison is east of Iowa.

Typical Wisco driver sitting in the passing lane.

"On the way to Colorado?"

Can't you orienteer better than that?!

Phil 3:14 states the most basic fact and still — because the bias is so strong — people look for a way to say he's driving west. That ought to shed some light on the rest of your thinking.

Watch out for the speed traps in Cedar Rapids.

The sun rises in the east.

But there must be some way to see this as going west.

Reminds me of my post yesterday: Oh, no. Good news. There must be some way that it's actually bad news...

Meade drove to Colorado. Ann stayed home and blogged. Nebraska, of course, is a drive-through and flyover state.

The sun rises in the south at the north pole.

Heading back to Madison, try HWY 20. A fraction of the traffic, (I80 Des Moines to the river is intense). And the scenery on the east end of Hwy 20 is much better Manchester, Dyersville (Field of Dreams) Dubuque. Much more relaxed and still 80MPH

"Dyersville (Field of Dreams)"

Rewatched Saturday while the wife is away. One of the very few movies that can make me tear up at various parts. Not really sure why beyond the have a catch with your father scene.

I've been to the Field of Dreams twice. It is a must see. People from all around the world stop there. Amazing.

”The sun rises in the same place in Australia, but travels north instead of south.”

It is extremely weird to watch it angle to the left, rather than the right, as it rises.

When you watch sunrises and sunsets on television it is not unusual to see the sun moving in the “wrong” direction, which means either that it was shot in the southern hemisphere or that they shot it in the northern hemisphere and are playing it backwards (i.e. you think you are watching a sun set but what you’re really watching is a sun rise played backward).

Turns out Trump is in Dubuque today. Would you reroute to avoid the Trump traffic in Dubuque?

Ann Althouse said...

Meade was camping and mountain biking in Colorado.

Unsure about how bad the President will screw up traffic. Meade could cut north before Dubuque and head for Marquette, or Lansing river crossing. Add an hour to his trip, but scenery is great. Best homemade Jerky in a little store New Albion IA, Then north to cross at La Crosse, But’s that’s just me.

I can smell the Trump support!

Looks like Meade has a dashcam?

I80 between Illinois and Des Moines is so pretty. I love the rolling, hilly fields and pastures.
