"It's big jerk circle. It's a circle of jerks."
When was that not the case with MSM progs?
Anyway, their emoting is so over the top, you'd think Trump is just baiting them.
Not that the Party of Science has enough self-awareness to step back.
Kelly is the only one left. A crafty Mick.
Trump doesn’t care if his staff calls him an idiot. He cares if his staff are idiots. Tillerson and McMaster are idiots. So are Priebus and Bannon. Cohn is an idiot. Comey is an idiot.
Kelly and Mattis are doing the job.
Mika is a moron.
And Joe is s l o w......
even Zbigniew Brzezinski said so.
Mika and Joe are idiots. Brokaw is an idiot. NBC News is filled with idiots.
The balloon has been pooped.
Yet the dumb s***-idiot-moron-dope has the US economy humming along like it hasn’t since Bush was president and North Korea is at the negotiating table with South Korea and the US. I wonder whether he knows something they didn’t? Note how many of them are gone.
@mccullough, if that last wasn’t a typo then you’re quite perspicacious.
I watch Mika and Joe from time to time just to see what the worst forms of TDS looks like.
Sometimes Joe seems to be foaming at the mouth.
For them and all of their MSNBC buddies, I'd cue up some Ceelo Green, and not the "Forget" version.
Why is the solution always "Top Men" runnong things? Why are people so quick to dismiss the wisdom of the morons?
Was Bob McNamara superior in his strategy in Viet Nam to anybody? He may very well have been the smartest guy in the room and he was wrong in nearly everything.
I would - quite literally - prefer a random selection of 2000 Americans to govern us than the Harvard faculty.
The joke is on the (fired) people who insulted the President. Trump is president. They aren't.
A show that I've never watched. You can't go wrong by not turning on the tv in the morning.
Aren't Mika and Joe a pair of immoral cheaters? Curious they are throwing stones on morality and intelligence. Wonder how much of Joe's money that cost him.
Drudge says Mueller is thinking about calling Trump on the carpet for 'obstruction of justice' and 'collusion with Russia'. Seriously?
How about calling Mueller out on 'obstruction of governing' and 'collusion with democrats'? This is starting to piss me off. Blindfold? Cigarette? ...
It is just the MSM narrative.
They did the same with GW Bush and Reagan, despite evidence to the contrary.
They cannot figure out how Trump can outsmart them so often because he isn't the right kind of POTUS in their world.
Joe is worth $18 million. Mika is worth $12 million.
Donald Trump has a net worth of 3.1 BILLION dollars.
I could use some of that kind of stupidity.
Amazingly - the total idiot Trump beat the genius Hillary. What a stoke of genius to use group with the Russians!
Even the anti-Trump bot-rallies are genius.
Aren't people who use these types of insults kindergarteners?
..and yes, they do it to alleviate the morning's anxiety with a little dopamine squirt. Bad news is the effect is ephemeral.
Morning Joe & Mika Show has had to fire more #METOO sexual harassers than any other morning talk show:
—Mark Halperin
—Harold Ford Jr.
—Glenn Thrush
—Tom Brokaw (maybe)
The balloon has been pooped.
Heh.
What does it say about how loathed your candidate is if she was actually beaten by a moron?
There is a reason that people are gracious to the other side: if one is actually defeated by them, it's better to be beaten by someone 'good' than someone 'stupid'.
Speaking of TDS, I just read a poll from the Harvard Crimson that said that 88% of their faculty think that Trump is doing a 'very poor' job as President. I know, you're as shocked as I am. Another 8% said he was doing a 'poor' job, 2% said he was doing an 'okay' job and 1% said that he was doing a 'good' job.
82.76% of the faculty describe themselves as either 'very liberal' or 'liberal', 15.22% describe themselves as 'moderate', and 1.63% describe themselves as 'conservative' or 'very conservative'. Over 1000 faculty members were surveyed.
Make of that what you will.

The joke is on the (fired) people who insulted the President. Trump is president. They aren't.
So to be clear, your presumption is that in fact the quotes are true; those senior White House and ex-White House staff really did insult Trump in the ways quoted, and they were fired for it.
For my part, like you, I believe that all of the quotes are probably true, as well. Tillerson and Cohn never (falsely) denied the reports. Priebus did, as I recall; I think he was probably lying. Not sure about the McMaster quote. I do think that there is good reason to believe that top people say those things, because they are true.
Assuming (as I do) that they are true, why does this story get a "Trump Derangement Syndrome" tag? What about it is "untrue," much less "so untrue as to be deranged"?
To me, it looks like a perfectly valid, timely, newsworthy compilation of quotes. Quotes that were all multi-sourced when published, and never much denied by the principals afterward. Coming now on the heels of the White House Chief of Staff saying them, and possibly getting moved out.
You are my model of TrumpWorld in this instance, John Lynch. Because you and I seem to agree on the essential fact that these things were said. You think these guys all said these things, and got fired for having said them. And that fact isn't much "derangement" on the part of NBC/MSNBC news reporting.
Remember when Morning Joe and Mika were all soft-touch on Trump during the primary. They gave their preferred idiot all sorts of grease. They didn't care for Hillary but they still wanted her to win.
Idiots.
Speaking of the harridan that Trump beat, why is the press only now telling us that she was a lush?
So this next election is not about how hateful and corrupt Hillary is. It is about how hateful and corrupt the Democratic IDEOLOGY is.
It is telling that the 'wins' in the Democrat column are by people who are not f**king Leftists, but more moderate people who like guns, don't like immigrants, and think Tranny Shitholes are stupid.
But that is only in the special elections. The primaried fights are going to be...special.
I am optimistic with the chances of the Republican party and I feel Tester is Toaster.
Speaking of the harridan that Trump beat, why is the press only now telling us that she was a lush?

[I agree with you, as to how they effectively promoted Trump, early on.]
There is a great segment where Bill Kristol makes that same assertion with them on-air after the election, and Joe Scarborough went ballistic, denying it.
Chuck, you have historically shown zero sense of nuance or perspective regarding Trump.
We could have a post on Olympic Skating and you'll open your piehole to excoriate Trump, way off topic and intemperately. Every post. Every topic. Always dialed up to 11.

As I stated last week, we have passed peak anti-Trump.
The media will not realize it. Their echo chamber will have them promoting stupid "stories" like this for some time, and as Trump's popularity begins to increase they will continue to turn up the vitriol, until even the most rabid fan will acknowledge they've thrown away any credibility.
Assuming (as I do) that they are true, why does this story get a "Trump Derangement Syndrome" tag? What about it is "untrue," much less "so untrue as to be deranged"?
First, I am not sure they are all true. Second, I don't know the circumstances and context. Maybe, if it was said, it was said in a moment of frustration.
There are thousands of Trump haters like you eager to pounce on such things.
Has anyone noticed that things are going well ? The economy is growing. North Korea is making noises like it wants to come in out of the cold. MBS is telling the Palestinians to shape up or ship out.

We'll stand by.
Joe and Mika were two of Trump's most useful idiots in the media. They assumed, of course that they were doing God's (er, Hillary's) work promoting Trump as the Republican candidate. They have been trying to atone ever since election night, at whatever cost to their own "bipartisan" brand. Joe is now the Never Trumpiest of the Never Trumpers.
Of course, they are the perfect Beltway couple. Mediocrities elevated only by their own connections, whose every pronouncement shows why conventional "wisdom" aint.

Thanks for asking.
Now, I have been thinking about you over night; it was about the raid that Trump's personal staff pulled on his private physician in Manhattan. Where they took all of his records concerning Trump.
I know from your comments that you are a doctor, and have done expert witness work. You must know, as I do, that those records are the legal property of the doctor. The patient can have copies, but not the originals. And forget for a moment as to how some security guys for Trump can walk in without any papers, no authorizations, no HIPAA-compliant papers, and just walk out with patient records.
It's a helluva story, isn't it?

I have no idea why and who did what. Is this supposed to be a scandal ? Do you know for a fact who did this ?
If a patient moved and asked for records to be sent to the new doctor, I sent them. I usually dd not keep copies unless I expected them to return.
Joe is now the Never Trumpiest of the Never Trumpers.
Not while Chuck is around!
I guess this is what chuck is commenting about.
Bornstein said he didn't realize what all the fuss was about when it came to Trump taking Propecia. “I couldn't believe anybody was making a big deal out of a drug to grow his hair that seemed to be so important,” he told NBC News. “And it certainly was not a breach of medical trust to tell somebody they take Propecia to grow their hair. What's the matter with that?”
I would say this is in the category of unsubstantiated "news." Doctors who have famous patients sometimes get overly impressed with themselves. I avoided most famous patients, not that they were breaking down my door, but they are often demanding and more trouble than they are worth. Unless, of course, you crave attention from NBC News and the WaPoo.
Michael K, here is the story:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-doc-says-trump-bodyguard-lawyer-raided-his-office-took-n870351
The law, very simply, is that licensed medical practitioners are legally obligated to maintain records for their patients. As such, those records are the legal property of the practitioner. The patient, of course, is allowed to have copies. The patient has a legal right, to copies. But not the original records.
So you just sent all of your original records away, when a patient asked? Please tell me you didn't do that. If that patient sued you for malpractice later, and you had no records, what would you attorneys say? Your office manager would know better. I bet that you gave copies (rightly and properly) and not the original records.
If it wasn't for my daily fix of Althouse I would have no idea what the ass hats on MSNBC are doing. It sounds like they are just going through the motions there regurgitating whatever the DNC talking points are. Bring back Dave Garroway and J. Fred Muggs. Zzzzzzzz
I am liking fopdoodle extraordinaire to describe Chuck even better than LLR.
Well all of this circle jerking on Slow Joe Scarborough' s and Mika's part calls for the creation of a new phrase "oratorical onanism". It's an act where each tries to top the other in pulling their political pud.
Mika and Joe, secure in their ignorance are happy to engage in it.
AJ Lynch: "I am liking fopdoodle extraordinaire to describe Chuck even better than LLR"
#Strong&Passionate&ReflexiveDemDefender is also a possibility, though a bit unwieldy.
As Michael K noted, the better the economic and foreign policy conditions become under Trump, the more unhappy fopdoodle extraordinaire becomes.
The less successful the democrats are in enacting their agenda, the more unhappy fopdoodle extraordinaire becomes.
I think one is more than justified in drawing inescapable and obvious conclusions from that fact set.
Meade does as I do, watch without sound. No reason for the sound because you know what is coming out of their mouths. The facial expressions tell all. Good news about Korea? A contained frown. Bad news on the Trump front? A smug near smirk. Amusing to watch, especially when there is good news. They fucking hate good news.
Chuck, fopdoodle extraordinaire: "I don't get it."
Precisely.
I've also noticed how talk of a Blue Wave creates quite the tingle up fopdoodle extraordinaire's leg, and it shows....
Birkel: "Chuck, fopdoodle extraordinaire: "I don't get it."
Precisely."
He doesn't get it because Maddow didn't explain it to him.
I imagine everyone of these insults were made as a kind of token acknowledgement in the presence of the speaker's numerous Trump hating family, friends, and associates; a way of saying that of course the guy is off the wall, which is why it is important that I be there to stop him from driving the truck of state off the road. I also bet they were all made before they got to know the man, who by all accounts is a gracious human being and quite clearly not a moron.
I bet that you gave copies (rightly and properly) and not the original records.
Chuck, I had one malpractice suit in 40 years, that accused me of using Red Cross blood to save an 18 year old's life in 1986 before AIDS was identified in blood. Eight years later, he developed AIDS.
As for records, have you tried to find medical records on anybody lately ? The law is that records must be kept on children until they are 18. It doesn't happen. I don't like it but your ideas of medical records retention are 25 years our of date.
I honestly can't remember but I think we sent the whole packet unless they planned to return. I also strongly encouraged all patients to keep a copy of their own records.
Michael: "They f****** hate good news"
So do the dems.
So do the leftists.
So does LLR and fopdoodle extraordinaire Chuck.
Again, obvious conclusions may be drawn.

It's not 25 years out of date if LLR Chuck's democrat operational allies need it to be true today.
There is literally not a single lefty narrative/talking point that is not advanced reflexively by fopdoodle extraordinaire Chuck.
Literally.
Unexpectedly.

There is much about Trump that is over the top and ridiculous, but you know who's even more outlandish? The etertainment and media figures with their frothy mouthed hatred of a man whom a large sector of the American public wish to be their president. The media figures live in their own world and every year they become frothier and more spittle flecked. They think they're Bill Cosby and they go on to treat the American public like he treated the comatose body of one of his fans......You want over the top. I'll give you over the top.
I presume some of them are nice people, but when NBC sends you their pundits, they're not sending their best, Many of them are rapists or sexual molesters or liars. We shouldn't be allowing them into our living rooms.
I will attempt to expand the incredibly obvious point that I made above @ 8:42 AM.
Michael Kelso (played by Ashton Kutcher) and Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis) are characters assured by their own physical attractiveness (PA) that they will be universally successful (US). Both are the butts of many jokes, both by their friends on the show and by the adults on the show. Their conceit about their own PA and its attendant benefits is risible. Everybody can see the flaw in the logic that PA will necessarily prove itself long-term advantageous as the high school students enter the real world.
Those characters represent an archetype. They are not unique in the world of entertainment. In fact, the characters who fill this archetype are so numerous that explaining the value of the beautiful and ditzy character who attributes US to PA is unnecessary to all but the most extraordinary of fopdoodles.
Everybody gets the joke that equating PA to achievements in any other area of life is foolish. Nobody has to explain the joke because there is no causal relationship between PA and US. (The converse of the marginally attractive or unattractive nerdy character similarly needs no explanation. It too is an archetype.) At most there is correlation between PA and some other achievements but the characters, as archetypes, cannot see past their own assumptions that PA leads to universal success.
Even beautiful people get the joke that beauty does not lead to US.
But smart people - and especially those who believe their own press clippings about intelligence - CANNOT get the joke. Smart people believe that their Native Intelligence (NI) will lead to US. And that is EXACTLY the same conceit that is so obviously wrong when PA people (Kelso and Jackie on the show) think all of their successes will flow from their most favorite characteristic about themselves.
People with NI actually believe that NI will lead to better decision making that people with average intelligence. But there is no proof for that outside of the CONCEIT that overly smart people carry around with themselves.
My example above with Bob McNamara is precisely on point. Smartest guy in the room got a helluva lot of people killed because he was conceited about one thing and thought that one thing gave him more and better than anybody else in the room. And his conceit went so far that he kept people out of the room who could have told him he was full of shit.
But Bob McNamara wouldn't have gotten my observation either, Chuck, fopdoodle extraordinaire. So you have that going for you.
Didn’t the doctor violate doctor/patient confidentiality? Doesn’t matter what for, he did it.
Mebbe they shoulda kicked his ass while they were there kinda like the Rick Springfield beating in True Detective. That would be swell.
It sure does seem like Chuck had a botched vagina operation. I can see no other reason for the constant hitching, whining and moaning.
Michael K:
Weren't you practicing in California at some point?
Here is a simple, plain-English California consumer-type guide to medical records laws:
http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Consumers/Complaints/Complaints_FAQ/Medical_Records_FAQ.aspx
You'll see. Just as I stated. Doctors are obligated to maintain records on current patients. (I think you misunderstood me, in terms of "maintaining records on current patients" versus "records retention" long after they stop treating.) And so, the records are the legal property of the doctor. The patient has a right to copies. Not the originals.
So the Trump-doctor story is slightly nuts. They Trump security guys took property that wasn't theirs. (These medical records laws are virtually the same all over the U.S.)
Actually, I think Trump's doctor is slightly nuts. I remember the letter he put out, talking about Trump's health. Turns out that Trump mostly wrote it, right?

You are also the authority on how medical records are maintained. Have you tried to get any the past few years since everything is EHR ?
I have and you are full of whatever that is on your shoes. And in California.
Lawyers live by paper. Chasing shadows like Mueller is.
I don't doubt all those idiot commentsare true. From what his Chair of Econ Advisors told Freakonomics podcast, he changes his mind all the time, asks weird questions, asks for everyones opinion, he doesn't read, he loves graphs and pictures, yada yada
Jordan Peterson would say he is showing low conscientiousness and high openness which is the opposite for most successful political operators and they flummoxed by it.
Trumps Park Avenue Doc spoke out of school telling what meds he proscribed Dronald. He earned that raid and the feeling of smallness that came with his cowardly guilt.
I'll bet chuck has memorized the entire civil code and thinks that all that stuff actually happens.
Sometimes you need to get out in the real world, where the people who voted for Trump live.
It doesn't always follow the rules. Of course lawyers are always ready to zoom in and try to wreck your life.
That's why they are beloved.

Every single week, in active litigation, I am dealing with letter requests for records, subpoenas for records, qualified protective orders, and HIPAA issues.
Yes, I think Trump's doctor is nuts. I thought that the letter over his signature, about how Trump would be the healthiest individual to ever occupy the presidency, was nuts. I think Trump is nuts. I think the whole situation is nuts. In other words; it is all quintessentially Trump.
But the clearest thing in all of it -- what everybody seems to agree on -- is that it really does look like Trump's security guys took all of the original records. There is just no way that that is proper, except if they are going to claim some security thing. It is what they will have to do. I just love the story, because it is such a reminder of what the private life of Circus World Trump is like.
Howard,
Flummoxed for exactly the reasons I outlined in my comment @ 10:25 AM.
The people making the comments about Trump (assuming, arguendo, that they are accurately reported) think that their preferred characteristic about themselves is what should be important universally.
Flummoxed, indeed.

No wonder you were so quick to join your democratic operational allies in smearing ADM Jackson.
After all, ADM Jackson never called US Troops "gestapo" nor pulled a little "stolen valor" ploy like 2 of LLR Chuck's favorite dems.
So, once again, regardless of what day it happens to be, whatever the far left talking points are for that day, LLR Chuck is right there helping his team.
@Chuck, before you start lecturing a real-life medical doctor about legal requirements, you might ask yourself whether California laws apply to New York doctors.
@Michael K., having worked in the electronic medical records-keeping for the DoD MHS and the VHA during the course of my long career, I understand your pain. One of the great selling points for the CHCS and VistA systems was easy customizability for local SOPs. Which meant, of course, that records recorded at one clinic or DoD hospital were unlikely to be compatible with the data formats at another DoD clinic, much less at the VHA.
Howard said...

Yeah, I think I agree. It's a HIPAA violation; it's no doubt an NY statute violation, and it is a violation of common-law doctor-patient privileges.

So lemme get this straight. If a physician violates one or more of the patient-privacy laws, the remedy for aggrieved patients is a vigilante raid on the office, and the taking of the physician's records?
Is that your legal theory?

Heh -- we cant find any evidence that Russia conspired with the Trump campaign to rig the 2016 election, true, but there may be a HIPAA violation!!!!!

You don't understand Big Mike.
LLR Chuck and his democrat allies NEED for you to be wrong so that the dems can be right so they can move another step closer to delivering the ultimate objective: the dems back in charge, running everything, and with supermajorities that never again will be challenged electorally.
Which meant, of course, that records recorded at one clinic or DoD hospital were unlikely to be compatible with the data formats at another DoD clinic, much less at the VHA.
Cedars-Sinai is a UCLA teaching hospital with all the doctors on staff also holding clinical faculty positions at UCLA. The EHR at the two institutions are not compatible.
I'm going to see if we can get chuck a contract obtaining records for the DoD at Phoenix and LA MEPS as he seems much more successful than we are.
Or maybe he doesn't know any better. When I was an intern in 1967, I had a patient with a surgery as a two month old in 1932. I got his medical records from Worchester and Boston Childrens Hospitals.
Does anyone think that is possible now ?
One more thing, chuck. I did videotape all my 1,000 lap choles before I retired in spite of hospital attorney request. I kept the tapes for a month until I was sure there was no complication, then offered them to the patient. About half took them.
I did the same with the 500 lap appys I did. One little kid took the tape of his appendectomy to school to share.
It was a sensation in Laguna Beach. That was when those procedures were very new and few were aware of them.
Victor Davis Hanson has an explanation of how things would be if chuck got his way with Trump.
One more thing, chuck. I did videotape all my 1,000 lap choles before I retired in spite of hospital attorney request. I kept the tapes for a month until I was sure there was no complication, then offered them to the patient. About half took them.
So you did 1,000 lap cholys and you never nicked or cut the common duct? That's good! I'd let you do mine, if I ever needed one. (I don't.) I did have to take the expert deposition of one of the two guys at Vanderbilt (you are the right age to know who I am talking about) who sort of invented the procedure.
It seems like only yesterday LLR Chuck was astonishingly chipper and upbeat in his postings prior to the election when Hillary was sure to win, the dems would take the Senate and potentially challenge for the House.
My my my, how happy and yippy-skippy our fopdoodle extraordinaire was in those days.
So rapturously joyous and full of life!!
But then Trump won, and he republicans won the Senate and the House.....and it became a Dark Day in Mudville forever after that for our resident "True Conservative".
Almost as if.....almost...the outcome we got was not really the outcome he really wanted.....
Look, before I get too many more dumb legal questions about this, my position is no different from the University of Colorado medical ethics expert that the Associated Press went to, for comment on this story:
Questions were raised about the legality of the seizure. Patients have a right to a copy of their medical records but the original physical record belongs to the doctor, said Dr. Matthew Wynia, director of the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado.
“If a patient wants a copy, they can have a copy, but they don’t get the original. Patients can also ask for their records to be transferred to a new doctor, but that also involves making copies (i.e., transferring the information), not literally packaging up the originals and sending them off,” Wynia said in an email.
It boils down to something like "Presidential Security." But then when has this ever happened in the past? Where the Secret Service goes to a president's doctor's office and takes all the records, including originals? I don't even think that there will be records of this being a Secret Service operation. It was a "Trump Security" operation. Keith Schiller, another big bodyguard-type guy, and Alan Garten of the Trump Organization.
Personally, I really enjoyed Dr Bornstein as "Doctor Woctor" in "The Muppets Take Manhatten".
Chuck: my legal theory is fuck the law and kill all lawyers
Actually, Chuck, if you bothered to do the research you’d discover that your assertion that the laws regarding medical records are “essentially the same” is quite simply wrong (unless you mean to broaden “essentially the same” to include “substantially different”). Under the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) doctors are required to keep the original records for six years (with special rules for pediatric patients) but, interestingly, under HIPPA the patient owns the information in those records. To the extent Bornstein released medical information about Trump without Trump’s express, signed, concurrence then Bornstein is potentially facing serious legal difficulties. Which is probably why he quietly handed over the records to a lawyer authorized by Trump. No doubt the “bodyguard” was there to carry the material, if it was as voluminous as I expect.
Big Mike: "Under the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) doctors are required to keep the original records for six years (with special rules for pediatric patients) but, interestingly, under HIPPA the patient owns the information in those records. I'll answer for LLR Chuck:
NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! We need Trump to have done something wrong! Er, I mean, they need Trump to have done something wrong! Er, I mean, Trump is just wrong! Don't you see? Trump has to be wrong! He has to be! He has to be! (insert many many democrat talking points here)!!1!11!1!eleventy!!11!
Big Mike, I really don't understand what point you are trying to make, but if you want to fuck with me, this is not the topic.
HIPAA is just one relevant law. The laws governing the duty to maintain records on current patients is a state-level legal scheme, except for special issues like Medicare. But the state laws are all alike, insofar as they all require doctors to maintain records. And because the laws require the doctors to maintain those records, the records are the legal property of the doctor. Again, the patient can have copies. But only copies. (There are some more exotic procedures dealing with things that might require "originals," like old analog mammograms and such, but they are so rare as to be irrelevant to Trump's case.)
I don't know why, Big Mike, you would be busting Dr. Bornstein for releasing Trump's records without authorization. Keith Schiller, working for Trump, just took the damn records without an authorization. And hell yeah that is wrong; wrong on the part of Keith Schiller. Bornstein should've called the cops on them.
Now, to the extent that Dr. Bornstein was chatting with a reporter about Trump's prescription for Finasteride (for hair growth), I ALREADY SAID THAT IT SEEMED LIKE A SCREWBALL VIOLATION OF PATIENT PRVIACY LAWS. I'm not defending the doctor on that. I said so already.
But no, the legal remedy for a violation of your patient privacy IS NOT a raid, by your bodyguard, on a doctor's office to grab your original medical records with no other paperwork. This is cartoon-law that you are talking about. A Seinfeld episode, not serious legal questions.
one of the two guys at Vanderbilt (you are the right age to know who I am talking about) who sort of invented the procedure.
Eddie Joe Reddick learned the procedure while on a trip to Paris with his wife. She wanted to go to museums and he decided to watch some surgery. That where he first saw a lap chole. When he came home, he went to a friend, a GYN in Georgia (Barry MacKernan) who did a lot of laparoscopy. Barry taught Eddie Joe, as he taught me a couple , of years later, to do the procedure.
The Europeans were well ahead of us in that technique. I went over a couple of times to learn more about it.
I did my first lap chole about 1988, soon after Reddick. The guy who was ahead of most of us is Ed Philips at Cedars. They built him his own OR. Last I checked he had done over 18,000 and that's years ago.
I retired after back surgery in 1993.
LLR and #EyewitnessTestimony Chuck: "I don't know why, Big Mike, you would be busting Dr. Bornstein for releasing Trump's records without authorization. Keith Schiller, working for Trump, just took the damn records without an authorization."
Amazing isn't it, just how much extraordinary detail and understanding of what actually occurred is possessed by our fopdoodle.
I wouldn't be surprised if LLR Chuck isn't called as a eyewitness to the events by Mueller (since that's inevitable, isn't it?) and his team of democrat henchpersons.
Our #StrongDurbinDefender is always in the know and his "know" always just coincidentally matches up with every dem talking point.
Unexpectedly.
Right, Eddie Joe had retired and gone into country music by the time I deposed his partner. I just knew that you would know who I was talking about.
Has Eddie Joe had any hits?
By the way, did our LLR and #StrongHannityCritic ever demand that Jake Tapper explain himself and disclose how it is that Tapper, the recipient of Clapper leaks, could possibly interview Clapper on CNN where Clapper denies being a leaker to the very person he leaked to?
I must have missed #StrongTrueConservative Chuck demanding that of Tapper.
Perhaps I missed it.
Eddie Joe had retired and gone into country music by the time I deposed his partner.
Eddie Joe was charging $18,00 to help somebody do a lap chole and that was back in the 90s.
I think he retired very well off.
The universities were very slow to adopt this technique because it was for patient comfort and they could care less about that.
The demand was patient driven . I had doctors' relatives coming from other states for a while.
I had a doctor call me on a Friday afternoon to ask if I could see his 9 year old daughter who he thought had appendicitis.
She did and I took her appendix out that night.
She went to the same private school in San Juan Capistrano that all our kids went to. The school nurse was even a doctors wife.
She heard Monday morning that this kid had had her appendix out Friday night and she called the hospital to see how she was.
The kid was in class. That's what drove the demand.
No, I never bagged a common duct but I did operative cholangiograms on every case. There were a couple where I might have injured it without the cholangiogram.
Ed Philips did 100% cholangiograms, too.
The cholangiograms took more time but if you did them routinely, it was a minor delay.
A lot of poorly trained people went into this and I did a lot of expert witness testimony all over the country for a while.
Eddie Joe was getting $ 18,000

Wow, that's extraordinary. I never met anybody who did cholangiograms that often. You WERE careful! You must've seen some interesting anatomical anomalies with that many. Like I say, I'd let you do mine but I'm glad that I don't have any cholecystitis, and no family history.
On the totem pole of stupid the old classification from bottom to up is idiot, imbecile then moron with moron being the top of the totem pole. Trumps detractors call him a moron and yet get consistently beat by him. Obviously they are too stupid to see that if a moron can outsmart them then they aren't the high man on the totem pole. As my grandfather used to say "in life one can be smart, too smart or stupid and too smart and stupid are the same. " It must gall our self-styled and self-presumed betters to be consistently beaten by a moron.
Big Mike, I really don't understand what point you are trying to make ...
And here lawyers try to tell us that they’re smarter than most!
You assert that the collection of Trump’s records was “unauthorized” and a “raid” but what if you’re wrong? Bornstein may not have been happy, but he was certainly in legal jeopardy and the Trump attorneys assert that the agreement to hand over the records was “amicable.”
I’m not trying to fuck with you. I’m presenting real facts for people who may be swayed by your poorly-researched BS and lack the time or background to do their own research. For the record I have in the past been extensively involved in Republican politics at the local level and your attitudes as reflected in your comments are like no Republican I have ever worked with. You come across to me as a person who doesn’t know many real Republicans and tries to ape the attitudes you believe are held by country club Republicans.

I once had (since lost, sadly) a tiny pocket handbook on psychology from the 1920s, that classified low intelligence people by IQ:
50-75 = Moron
25-50 = Cretin
<25 = Idiot
I agree, if Trump is a moron and he consistently comes out on top, the others must be something lower.

Chuck is a democrat.
Our party is better without the open borders neocon CoC losers.
Getting rid of them allows us to pick up the white working class and now the black working class.
You wont be missed. At all.

I am actually not aware of Trump's attorneys saying that it was an "amicable" collection of records. The doctor in question describes his impression of it all as being like a "raid."
No matter what; absent something unusual, it is standard for patients to get COPIES of their medical records. NOT THE ORIGINALS. And yet that is what happened. By all accounts, that is what happened. Trump's former personal bodyguards went to the office unannounced, as it opened in the morning, walked in, and without any authorizing documents, simply took the Trump records.
That's crazy-weird, to the point of illegality. But it is the President of the United States that we're talking about. If the claim is that it was a presidential security issue, then I might understand. But then, you would think that it would be a Secret Service operation, with law enforcement support, and some legal paperwork. And that also appears to not have happened.
There are many more questions, than answers.

I don't recall; was Rush also laughing when this joke of a doctor -- Trump's own, chosen private doctor for decades, before 2016 -- wrote that insane letter that the doctor now says was dictated by Trump?
It was December, 2015, when that letter hit the news and people from coast to coast started laughing their fucking asses off:
https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-medical-report-is-more-insane-than-his-campaign-somehow
I had forgotten -- but love -- the part about Trump putting news of the report out via Twitter but getting Dr. Bornstein's first name wrong.
Lifelong Incel Chuck is at it again today, doing the hard work of carrying the democrats water while pretending to be a republican and an attorney.
Of course he is terrible at it, but god bless him, does he try his retarded best.
Actually yes, he was. Because the letter is so amusingly, charmingly Trump.
It gives me great joy to watch the fall of Chuck. It is the perfect anecdote to the fall of the whole GOPe tribe.
His now defunct political tribe has no influence over republican voters. They are just mocked. This makes them useless to their globalist patrons and that means they will have to get real jobs soon. There is no group in politics more detestable than the GOPe.
Wow, that's extraordinary. I never met anybody who did cholangiograms that often.
Ed Philips had his OR equipped with an x-ray machine to do routine cholangiograms. I never got that courtesy but I still did every one. I think there were four cases I could not get the catheter in. As you do it more frequently, it is easier and faster.
No wonder you were doing lots of depositions.
I have for years complained about people giving lectures about how they do not do the safest thing because they are bragging about how they don't need it. I have talked to a couple after their lecture and chastised them for telling lesser trained surgeons to avoid the safest option.
There is an old saying in my circles, "Beware of the courageous surgeon because the patient is the one taking the chances."
Innovators have always been insulted. Until they succeed. Then they are marginalized so that the scoffers, the levelers of insults can claim an underserved share of credit for success. MSNBC has tried, so far unsuccessfully to steal Trump's economic accomplishments and award them to Lord Zero. Should peace break out on the Korean peninsula, the usual suspects will try to prise the Prize from Trump's deserving hands and award it to Obama.
Here's more of the story of Eddie Joe.
Andy McCarthy also has a piece today about Mueller, which I agree with almost completely.
A president should not be subjected to prosecutorial scrutiny over poor judgment, venality, bad taste, or policy disputes. Absent concrete evidence that the president has committed a serious crime, the checks on the president should be Congress and the ballot box — and the civil courts, to the extent that individuals are harmed by abusive executive action. Otherwise, a special-counsel investigation — especially one staffed by the president’s political opponents — is apt to become a thinly veiled political scheme, enabling the losers to relitigate the election and obstruct the president from pursuing the agenda on which he ran.
That is what we are now witnessing.
Stupid is as stupid does, and what Trump does is working incredibly well, and what they do is not.
So far, this is fiction but it might not always be.
At this point, I expect you are overwhelmed with voices excoriating and explaining the costly reversals we have experienced in recent months. Once the dust clears from the congressional inquiries and the various special commissions, it will be a challenge to sort the wheat from the chaff to discover and implement the real lessons for our Navy. Politics being what they are, of course, that task will fall to our successors. Like you, I am painfully aware I am being retained just long enough to absorb enough blame for what happened to clear the deck for the next commander. Nonetheless I will add my own thoughts to the cacophony, knowing that in my position I can hardly be said to be a disinterested observer.
The tragedy of our defeat—and I deliberately use that term so carefully avoided in our public discussions—is that it hinged on such small factors. At the start of Admiral John Richardson’s term as Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), he noted presciently that our margin of victory in high-end naval combat had grown “razor thin.” At the time, he assessed that the margin, though thin, remained “decisive.”1 In the years following, however, the margin shifted imperceptibly to favor the other side.
Maybe that is what this country needs to go back to serious matters.
Or a bloody violent revolution.
I don't get it. - Chuck
We know.
@Michael K., any advantage — if any! — our technology gives us is mitigated by five major mishaps since the start of 2017: one Navy ship run aground, two collisions at sea caused by poor seamanship on the part of bridge officers, and two more where other vessels (a tug boat and a trawler) drifted into American naval vessels. If we can’t maneuver our ships we surely can’t fight them.
There are many more questions, [sic] than answers.
Yes, there are. And the MSM isn't asking them, so I will.
If it was an "illegal raid", why didn't the doctor call the cops or the local security force? Surely a respected physician with a fund of wealthy and influential patients has access to a security service provided by the administration of the building where his high-profile medical practice has its offices. He could have picked up a phone and called for security to eject those intruders, but he didn't. One wonders why.
How did those intruders get access to the files? Weren't they locked or otherwise secured from prying eyes and hands? My own doctor has a file room, quite large it is too. It has a glass wall, and the shelves containing the folders are clearly visible to anyone standing at the receptionist's window. However, the room is secured with a magnetic lock. Only persons with the appropriate authorization can even enter the file room, let alone have any access to a given file folder. Surely the good Dr. Bornstein took similar measures to protect his patients. If he did, someone voluntarily let those intruders into his file room. That would be an offense against the privacy of his entire clientele, would it not? If I were a patient of Dr. Bornstein I'd be talking to my lawyer about a lawsuit. But no details about his file security have emerged. One wonders why.
My personal physician has a similar lock on the door between his waiting and reception area and the various examination, laboratory, and equipment rooms within. No one gets back there without being buzzed in, as they say. My doctor is a poor man in comparison to a medico like Harold Bornstein, who enjoys a lucrative practice with billionaire patients, yet he can afford security measures that would have thwarted Trump's men which apparently the wealthy Dr. Bornstein cannot. A simple lock would have stopped those intruders unless they used a battering ram or pulled out SMGs and threatened to kill non-cooperators. Did they? One would think Bornstein would have included those juicy details in his "rape" story. Why not? Was it because Bornstein allowed them into the secure areas, that he unlocked the doors himself? No information so far. One wonders why.
Bornstein also told the press that he prescribed medication for Donald Trump's hair loss. Why? Is Trump undeserving of the privacy afforded to every patient of every physician by the terms of the Hypocratic Oath, ... Into whatsoever houses I enter, I will enter to help the sick, and I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm, especially from abusing the bodies of man or woman, bond or free. And whatsoever I shall see or hear in the course of my profession, as well as outside my profession in my intercourse with men, if it be what should not be published abroad, I will never divulge, holding such things to be holy secrets, not to mention the ordinances of the New York State Board of Medicine? It seems to me Bornstein has laid himself bare to a lawsuit on at least two torts. He failed to protect Trump's records from those intruders. How was he to know if they were legitimate or not? Did they show Secret Service IDs? Not according to LLR Chuck. How does one know a Trump bodyguard from an MSNBC flunkey posing as one? Is Bornstein dumber than a box of rocks? Or is he a conspirator perpetrating a hoax? No one at CNN has asked the doctor what measure he took to ascertain the intruders' true identities. One wonders why.
BTW, Chuck, as a self-described lawyer could you tell us why an educated person like yourself would use commas so unnecessarily?
Hey, Quaestor;
I can't answer all of your questions about Bornstein. Didn't I make clear to you already, that I think the guy is a freak and a nutball? I think it is hilarious almost beyond words, that Donald J. Trump chose this particular Manhattan clown as his personal physician. Prolly the same way that Trump chose Keith Schiller as his body man, and the same way that Trump chose Michael Cohen as his consigliere.
Lulz.
As for whether Bornstein may have caused himself a whole lotta trouble by talking about his prescription of Finasteride for Trump, I say again (third or fourth time): Yep, I think that is very bad, for Dr. Bornstein. I think he shouldn't have done that. But it does not provide a legal basis for Trump's personal goons to grab medical records that are the property of the doctor's office.
If you think LLR Chuck is going to give up on this lefty talking point before being given the social signals via lefty talking heads you are sadly mistaken.
Like the Japanese soldiers left to survive alone on islands LLR Chuck will continue to labor away under his last set of implicit "orders" from his lefty signalling "betters" until "directed" otherwise.
Because that's what "Tru Cons" do.
Isn't it?
our technology gives us is mitigated by five major mishaps since the start of 2017:
Yes but the thrust of that piece is that we are losing the cyber war,
I agree with Quaestor and wonder if this "raid" was more than an imaginary one.
I've known a couple of "celebrity doctors" and, if they don't die of overdoses as Stephen Ammerman, Don Simpson's doctor, did they are not very trustworthy. And often not very competent.
On August 15, 1995, Ammerman was found dead in the pool house on Simpson's estate. It was later determined that Ammerman died of an accidental overdose of cocaine, Valium, Venlafaxine and morphine.
Speaking of Schiller, I thought Kelly had fired him as Trump's personal security.
You just can't trust the media these days.

You, of course, want to treat Trump like a loser when you really aren't qualified to carry his dirty jock strap. He has risked more, taken more abuse, and accomplished more than a thousandth of a percent of people.
So your critique will be given the credence it deserves, which is none at all.
I think you have me confused with someone else. I've been one of the biggest Trump supporters here at Althouse in Althouse comments since before he got into the race in June 2015. Admittedly, he was a third choice initially behind Rand Paul (Great ideas but maybe a bit weak) and Cruz (Great ideas but has citizenship issues). After a couple month's watching him, he became my first choice.
My love of President Trump grows daily. As I keep saying, I am not tired of winning yet. I think he has a shot at being an all time greatest president. I can't think of a single thing to complain about in his presidency.
Since I have been pretty vocal about this all along, I have no idea what you are talking about.
As to his wealth, he reported, in his official financial filing, something over $9bn net worth. If he had materially mis-stated it, his opposition in both parties would have been all over it like stink on shit.
Yet people keep giving lower numbers. The woman at the WHCD did a whole bunch of "Trump is so broke..." Audience "How Broke is he?" She "So broke that..."
If he was worth $9bn in 2015, I would question how he got to $3bn today or to broke as she would have it. I suspect, given the economy, his $9bn is somewhat more today.
Saying something different, without any evidence, just seems like FUD to me. Lots of people are, but why you?
John Henry
I get the sense they just make stuff up, they have dropped the veil on the whole non-partisan journalist thing, why even pretend, just write anything at all to smear Trump.
But it does not provide a legal basis for Trump's personal goons to grab medical records that are the property of the doctor's office.
Unless Bornstein cooperated the "goons" couldn't have grabbed any record or file. Bornstein is bullshitting, and so are you.
Re the doctor, if any doctor of mine was selling my personal, medical information, I would probably do exactly what President Trump did. I would send a lawyer to take custody of my records since the doctor obviously can't be trusted with them.
I would send someone along to be a witness. If I had someone big, so much the better to help schlep the stuff away. I might also have someone standing by in the hall with a handcart in case of need.
If questioned, I would state that I am not claiming ownership of my client's records. The doctor can have access at any time for any legitimate reason. I am simply removing them for safekeeping and, if the doctor wants, he can take me to court. I would be happy to explain to a judge what I did and why and let the judge determine whether I should give the records back or perhaps deposit them with the court for safe keeping.
I would do this even if the doc was not selling my info, just giving it away. I use the word "selling" because my understanding is that, in return for giving out the info, he received something of value, even if just publicity.
I would then sue the bejeezus out of him with criminal and civil charges. I would do everything possible to ruin him financially and reputationally.
I am not a lawyer, of course, so I don't know how well this would work from a legal perspective. I do know that if physically able, I would take the records, let my lawyer hold them and take my chances in court.

Correct; I think that Dr. Bornstein did not call the police. I think he was not there when it happened. I expect that perhaps somebody called Bornstein, or spoke with Bornstein's wife/office manager, and no one decided to call the cops. They might very well have known who Keith Schiller was (like Stormy Daniels knows who Keith Schiller was), and knew that he was Trump's guy. I expect that they were told what was happening, and why. Doesn't make it legal.

Okay I'll tell you. It makes no difference. The original records are property of the provider. Not the patient. You could perhaps get a court order for the originals to be handed over to a special master or something, in some extraordinary circumstance, but that didn't happen here.
And again; if this was a matter of presidential security, where was the real Secret Service?
The TDS that infects Chuck and the other democrats and their lickspittles is worth 10 points to republicans in November.

Now if we could just get Paul Ryan to resign as speaker, and get a speaker who will promise to support Trump in there we can pick up some seats in the house.

Frankly, no. I must confess that little of what you write seems clear or reasonable to me. You say Dr. Bornstein is a "freak and a nutball", how do you defend that condemnation? If it's just your opinion, what reason do I have to credit that opinion as anything more than common bullshit? A friend of mine, the son of a USA Lt. General, has a wealth of colorful aphorisms to call on, one of them says that opinions are like assholes, everyone has got one, and they're all dirty. Well, I don't entirely agree. There is such a thing as an informed opinion which should be taken and critiqued at face value, and then there's uninformed opinion, such as yours regarding people you don't know.
There are many interpretations of Bronsteins actions in this matter. One is the simple truth — events transpired just as Bronstein has related, which I find untenable for reasons I have already stated. Another possibility, Bronstein is a stupid man who forgot or has long ignored his obligations, both moral and legal, to protect his files from unauthorized access, which I find unlikely given the generally high intellectual standards we impose on physicians in this country. I'm sure a fool or two can always be found, but the odds are long. Finally, there is the possibility he has embroidered events to smear Trump, which I find compelling because those "goons" couldn't just walk in and seize Trump's records without Bornstein's cooperation, otherwise, it's just forcible robbery, a felony even in New York, which the doctor did not report. Why not? Because filling a false police report is a class A misdemeanor in NY and could land him in jail for a year. It could also be grounds for his the suspension or dismissal of his medical license. However, making the claim to the press is just garden-variety unprocedural slander. There are certainly other possibilities, but my poor brain can't summon them.
Chuck wrote: I just told you; I don't think Bornstein was there, when Schiller & co. came into the office.
Not true. You haven't been paying attention, Chuck. (Imagine that!)
Bornstein has already said that he was told to remove a framed photo of Trump and Bornstein from his office was. How could he be told to do so if he was not there? Oh, they called his cell phone, you may say, but his story as published says nothing of the kind. (Though I predict that detail will be added sooner than later.)
Gretchen: "I get the sense they just make stuff up, they have dropped the veil on the whole non-partisan journalist thing, why even pretend, just write anything at all to smear Trump."
Uh oh.
You have impugned the integrity and honesty of LLR Chuck's beloved lefty MSM and I am quite certain he will be letting you know about it shortly.
I must warn you, if you are a female Trump supporter you may find yourself the target of Chucks hypothetical physical retribution per the LLR Chuck "Corey Lewandowski" standard.
I wish you well.
Bornstein has already said that he was told to remove a framed photo of Trump and Bornstein from his office wall
(apologies for the typo)
Chuck never disappoints.
A out of control prosecutor trashes client attorney privilege and raids a lawyers office to get all of his confidential files so they can leak them to the media. With the convenience of George Soros approved judges who will break any long held convention in the attempt to smear President Trump and anyone who supports him.
Then a patient demands his medical records. All of his medical records from a doctor who has violated doctor patient confidentiality in order to peddle the President's medical records to the Press. Of course he needs the originals and all of the copies. He can not leave them in the hands of such an unethical doctor. In fact I am surprised that the New York State Medical Board has not sanctioned him. But I bet they are filled with progressive who think any tool used against President Trump is fine no matter how it violates the law or even common decency. As does Chuck. Unexpectedly.
Quaestor: "Though I predict that detail will be added sooner than later.)"
LLR Chuck is no doubt at this moment penning a missive to Bornstein and his team advising them toclean up that and other "troublesome" details which hinder the advancement of this latest lefty ploy which LLR Chuck has passioately embraced.
Chuck wrote: I can't answer all of your questions about Bornstein.
Actually, you haven't answered any of them.
Now we hear that an out of control fishing expedition is going to subpoena the President of the United States.
While he is about to go to North Korea to negotiate the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and finally ending the Korean War.
While US hostages in North Korea have been freed from a labor camp and being prepared to be released before the Summit.
While he is about the end the corrupt Iran deal that recent developments and revelations by the Israeli's has been shown to be a farce from the get go. With the full support of Saudi Arabia and a large slice of the Muslim world who along with the Israeli's dread a nuclear Iran.
While he is renegotiating trade deals like NAFTA that China uses as a reach around to fuck us without increasing the trade deficit even more.
While he is appointing one superb conservative judge after another that the hapless establishment Rhino Republican Congress is failing to confirm through their spinelessness.
With all of that they want to drag the President into Court to answer allegations about a dossier created by the opposing political party and the corrupt Deep State.
This is where people like Chuck and his fellow Democrats have brought us.
Something needs to be done.
Chuck,
I am not claiming, and perhaps President Trump is not claiming either, that it has anything to do with presidential security.
In this case it is just a guy who doesn't want his medical records publicized.
John Henry
A guy who doesn't want his medical records publicized illegally when this doctor has already done so for self aggrandizing purposes.
Nothing can be clearer that this is perfectly justified. I bet any rich guy would do the same.
Regardless if they were President or not.
This quack went along with it because he knows his license is at risk.
an interesting detail i noted about the possible leaker,

I understand that. That is what your idea of "justice" is. Righteous equity, or something.
I am telling you; it isn't legal. If you are aggrieved over a doctor's violation of your patient-privacy rights, what you do is; (a) file a complaint with your state's medical board; (b) sue, civilly, for damages; (c) sue, in equity, for an order to prevent any further violations and/or (d) report the matter to law enforcement if you think a criminal violation occurred.
Absolutely nothing in the law allows you to go and take your records. There is plenty of law to suggest that you at exposing yourself to civil and criminal penalty if you do that.

And yet there was no police report or complaint to the NYSMB. Nothing. Just this cock-and-bull story flailed by NBC. It's bullshit, yet "lawyer" Chuck can't see it, or more precisely won't see, which is very lawyerly, much to the detriment of the profession.

Exactly. Except the story isn't "bullshit" at all. The essential story is that Trump's people came and took possession of all of the records on Trump within the office of Dr. Bornstein. And that story was confirmed by Sarah Sanders yesterday.
Now, I can see why Bornstein didn't want to make any more of a fuss about it. If he filed a police report, Trump might point out that Bornstein might be guilty of a patient-privacy violation in connection with Bornstein's nutjob interview after that nutjob letter assessing Trump's health went out.
My guess is that Trump and Bornstein are as eager to get law enforcement's assistance in such matters, as the Soprano and Corleone families would have wanted law enforcement's help.
you're beyond parody, chuck:
http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/01/shearer-dossier-steele-trump/
And that story was confirmed by Sarah Sanders yesterday.
And you're bullshitting again. Bornstein called it a raid and compared it to a rape. That implies force or coercion. Sanders says the files were surrendered in an "amicable" manner. The fact that the files were almost certainly secured by lock(s) and the fact that Bornstein never mentioned this event to the public or authorities for over a year should convince an honest person to conclude that the story as published by NBC — a news agency not unknown for such embellishment and fabrication — is a hoax.
If honesty was a watchword at NBC the story would have run something like this: Having peddled confidential medical information about the President to the press in contravention of moral and legal obligations to protect the secrecy of such records, Dr. Harolld Bornstein, formerly Trump's personal physician, surrendered Mr. Trump's medical records to his personal operatives in exchange for an agreement not to seek suspension of his license to practice medicine for breach of confidentiality.

1. Chuck is full of shit. The records were obviously obtained peacefully and the doctor handed them over in order to avoid sanctions for breaking confidentiality.
2. Isn't it absolutely fascinating to witnessed how morally deranged Cuck has become? He is so pissed the doctor can't smear Trump and leak Trump's medical records he is arguing against reality.
3. Please keep talking Chuck. Every time an honest American reads your morally debased shit they like Trump more.
oops, that's Harold. The second l is a typo.
Here is what Sarah Sanders said:
Asked about the incident by Hallie Jackson of NBC News on Tuesday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that taking possession of medical records was "standard operating procedure for a new president" and that it was not accurate to characterize what happened as a "raid."
"Those records were being transferred over to the White House Medical Unit, as requested," said Sanders.
Now I happen to think that Sarah Sanders is an unbelievable lying liar. But let's take her at her word. That the "records were being transferred over to the White House Medical Unit, as requested." That NORMALLY means, in routine medical practice, that a complete copy of the Bornstein chart is made, and the copy is sent to the White House. IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT SOMEBODY TAKES BORNSTEIN'S RECORDS.
Sarah Sanders was trying to take the Trump weirdness out of the story. If it was a routine transfer of records, there are about a hundred ways to go about it that do not involve Trump's personal bodyguard Keith Schiller and a legal veep of the Trump Organization. If it were a security thing, it would have involved the Secret Service. (But the Secret Service appears to not have been involved.)
That is why I love this story. It seems to be all about Donald Trump's deepest personal weirdness, and his treating Manhattan as if he were a kind of a mob boss.
1. Chuck is full of shit. The records were obviously obtained peacefully and the doctor handed them over in order to avoid sanctions for breaking confidentiality.
That is full of shit. If the doctor was really afraid of a lawsuit, THE LAST thing he would want to do, is to relinquish his records. He would need those records, to defend himself.
And having relinquished the records, it would do nothing to bar a complaint or a lawsuit concerning the doctor's violation of Trump's privacy rights.
Please understand; I am not defending Dr. Bornstein. I am saying that Dr. Bornstein is a laughable clown.
And, I am saying that Donald Trump is a clown himself, for having chosen this gastroenterologist as his personal primary care doctor and having used him for 35 years. Everything about this story is such a wonderful, vintage-Trumpian shitshow.
Trump's care being rendered under fake names; the doctor blowing Trump's cover on being prescribed Propecia; Trump's goons walking in and taking all of the records; the goofball letter in late 2015 about how Trump would be the healthiest president in American history. It's all so fantastic.
If it were a security thing, it would have involved the Secret Service.
More bullshit. The "security thing" is your insertion. The SS wasn't there because the matter involved a tort against Trump personally. Everyone is entitled to the confidentiality of their medical records, not just the President.
I love your flailing and obfuscations because they reveal the paucity of your ethics so vividly.
LLR Chuck: "..his treating Manhattan as if he were a kind of a mob boss."
Note carefully how LLR Chuck makes sure to reunforce the very narratives and talking points of the leftist partisans.
The left has been working very hard to work in as many uses of the term "mob boss" as possible, including the absolutely corrupt Comey who is at the center of this entire pro-Hillary/democrat collusion hoax.
Once again, as always, without exception, LLR Chuck is 100% in perfect harmony with the leftist talking points of the day.
Unexpectedly.
As all "True Conservatives" are...
LOL
You really want to fuck with me, eh, Quaestor?
I am telling you, as directly and as clearly as I can. Those medical records did not belong to Donald Trump. They belonged to Dr. Bornstein. Trump could request copies. That would be Trump's right under the law.
The fact that Dr. Bornstein may have violated a Trump right to patient privacy DOES NOT give Trump's agents the right to come in to the office and take the records.
And I defy you, to show me a case where, absent a court order, such a thing was done legally.
"Bowe Bergdahl republican" Chuck: "Please understand; I am not defending Dr. Bornstein"
LOL
Says the guy relaying Bornsteins tale as if it were received wisdom AS WELL AS adding some detail flourishes of his own to "help" the lefty story along.
Naturally.
#StrongDurbin&CNNDefender Chuck: "You really want to fuck with me, eh, Quaestor?"
Filed under "Things Chuck Has Never Said To Lefties".
Of course, why would Chuck ever say that a lefty? It would be strange to attack a teammate.
You should feel free to draw obvious conclusions.
And I defy you, to show me a case where, absent a court order, such a thing was done legally.
What "thing" is that?
You're the one leveling allegations, it's up to you to provide the evidence. I'll put you a simpler case. I posed several questions, which you declined to answer. I'll be more apt to think well of you if you can answer these. How did the "goons" grab records protected by locks? Did they batter down the door to the file room? Did they threaten the doctor? If he wasn't there as you claim, how could they have intimidated him into opening those locks? I'm inclined to believe they did threaten to file a complaint against Bornstein with the Medical Board, which would certainly have made the good doctor feel intimidated and inclined to cooperate. The records are, as you have stated ad nauseam, the physician's property. However, you are in error in that those records are not chattels. They cannot be disposed of like other property. The physician can relinquish those files to the patient for any number of reasons. A court order may be involved, but nothing prevents a physician surrendering a patient's record voluntarily and without the formalities of an order.
I wonder how many here thought this "raid" took place in the past few days? I did until a couple minutes ago.
I was wondering if the doc was present (he was) and found this rather bizarre article
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5682393/Trumps-former-doctor-felt-like-slave-Trump-dictated-glowing-health-letter.html
it got me wondering why a raid in February would get press now?
Then I read further and it was feb 2017, 15 months ago.
The doctor is really strange. He "felt like a slave"?? Then there's this about his bill of health for Trump
"He dictated that whole letter. I didn't write that letter. I just made it up as I went along,' he told CNN outside his Park Avenue office"
Which is it, doc? Was it dictated or did you make it up? Can't be both he does say the letter is accurate.
This doc is one wierd puppy. Read the whole article. From what the doc says, it seems he voluntarily turned over the records

As for "fucking with" you, I believe I've fucked you quite thoroughly so far. I think the others here will agree. You are a braggart and a charlatan, Chuck. Nor do I believe for a moment that you are a lawyer. You don't reason like a lawyer. Nor is your command of the language lawyerly or even well-educated. You merely spit jejune bile like any other troll.
Quaestor: "You're the one leveling allegations, it's up to you to provide the evidence."
No one on the left provides evidence. Jyst accusations.
Hmmm, exactly like LLR Chuck.
It would not be unreasonable to draw particular conclusions.
Quaestor:
I had never considered the possibility that Dr. Bornstein would willingly just give his only original records to patient-Trump willingly. But you are right, that could have happened. The reasons why I never considered it are these:
1. Dr. Bornstein sure doesn't sound like this was voluntary. Keith Schiller (armed, no doubt) and another big guy, and a Trump Organization lawyer?
2. It is legal insanity, for a doctor like Bornstein, dealing with a lawsuit-crazed lunatic like Donald Trump, to give up his only copies of original treatment records.
3. As I mentioned already; there are innumerable ways to transfer copies of records in the normal course of medical practice. This was not normal, in any way.
Now, I don't put much stock in any serious legal reasoning here. I don't think that Dr. Bornstein had time to call a lawyer. If he had, the lawyer -- any good lawyer -- would have told him not to relinquish the records. A good lawyer would have also told him not to do an interview and talk about Trump's Propecia prescription.
But as I have said repeatedly; there is nothing normal about Trump, or the Trump Organization, or Keith Schiller, or the doctor that Trump chose as his doctor for 35 years, the nutball Dr. Bornstein.
At this point in time, one would have to believe that "The People Who Matter" are vey much less than pleased with how LLR Chuck has destroyed a lengthy and carefully cultivated online persona and thus has lost the power of persuasion necessary to achieve the objectives of "The People Who Matter".
Of course, once your sunk costs are truly fully sunk, the decision to continue business as usual is often the choice made.
Though to much reduced effect.

LLR Chuck: "But you are right, that could have happened. The reasons why I never considered it are these:"
LOL
Your reasons are patently obvious and require no elucidation.
At all.
Ever.
Keith Schiller (armed, no doubt) and another big guy, and a Trump Organization lawyer?
Armed? Where, oh where did you get that piece of information? You're ass, perhaps. Evidently, the narrative as given is so shaky you see a need to gild the lily, as it were. Now the goons have guns! Funny the doctor didn't say that. Even NBC with all their undisguised animus toward Trump didn't include that tidbit — strains credulity, as the lawyers say.
It is legal insanity, for a doctor like Bornstein...
On the contrary, it absolves Bornstein of responsibility for the security and completeness of the records.
This was not normal, in any way.
Your opinion. And your opinion ignores and obfuscates the facts and circumstances.
I think he's looking at a fraud charge,

Schiller has a concealed carry permit for New York City:

...the nutball Dr. Bornstein.
Again with the character assassination of someone you have never met or even heard of before a few days ago. I agree his story sounds odd, but that's the way unpractised liars often speak and write. I see no evidence of insanity or "nutballery" in Dr. Bornstein, just the ineptitude of a liar in the spotlight.

Schiller has a concealed carry permit for New York City...
So what? I am licensed to carry, but I don't show up armed where it's likely to contravene the property owners' policy or cause other problems. The doctor mentions no guns. How do you square that with narrative? Why do you feel it necessary to add details not in evidence?
On second thought, don't bother. The reason is obvious, isn't it?
To paraphrase Mark Twain it's a choice between being uninformed or misinformed
John Henry
Dr. Bornstein sure doesn't sound like this was voluntary.
Not voluntary in the sense of here, out of the goodness of my heart, are your patient records, Mr. Trump, but certainly voluntary in the sense of a bargain, as in give me my records or I'll sue you and I'll have your medical license on a platter, which is what voluntary generally means in lawyer-speak.
I had never considered the possibility that Dr. Bornstein would willingly just give his only original records to patient-Trump willingly. But you are right, that could have happened.
